How to get Platinum Speed running (Sub 1:45) for the quest X Marks The Spot. This guide is also applicable to non-speedrunning, and to start you will only need the following items:
1 Energy Potion
100 coins
This quest does not require any teleports.

This is my second quest I'm attempting. Third try I'm at 1:47. Man this one you gotta be nearly tick perfect it seems haha. Gonna keep trying. Love the guides. Literally no way I could get even close to plat without your videos. Thank you!
Got it on the fifth try, but this quest is so short it was no biggy to repeat it. Thank you again so much for these guides. With any luck I might just get the adventurer's transmog in one night.
I'm glad to hear you got it! This quest really doesn't have much wiggle room, your corners have to be tight and efficient. Demon Slayer and Vampyre slayer are also annoying due to the RNG so I wish you the best of luck when tackling those! Thanks for watching and good job on getting plat!
@@blu-manchu Thank you so much! I attempted demon slayer about 25 times last night. So many times I dreamt about it 😂😂 that one is definitely a real bear. Hoping black knight will be easier once I finally get that plat on Demon Slayer. Thanks again for these guides, some of the only ones on CZcams and the quality is top notch.

you coulda got diamond time if you used the tile marker plugin that shows you where you're actually standing so you can dig sooner than when your player model arrives at the dig tile

Thank you! I'm considering it but as @SoloMission just started his Quest Cape speedrun, I'll need to come up with a way to make a series like that my own! There's a couple things in consideration right now, I have about 100 hours of footage for a Magic only account I'm editing and I'm going to try and finish getting all speedruns for quests done at the least, but I just moved IRL so I've been a bit busier than normal :)

Can you spam the same quest for graceful? or once you get the plat do you have to move on?
Once you have cleared a tier of a quest you can no longer gain points for that tier of the quest again. Meaning, yes, once plat is achieved for X Marks the Spot and you got your points for the run, you'd need to move to another quest to get more points. Mind you Diamond doesn't give points, only when completing all runs on Diamond do you get a diamond trophy as a reward for people who are just nuts at this stuff. Plat and below will generate points to spend at Eliza's shop in Varrock Square.
My time is 1:54 at the moment and I'm still trying to figure out where I'm slowing down... I'm taking a single account approach to this quest just to decrease the number of things I need to do.
It's very common that it's the pathing that makes your time bloat - be more efficient in your pathing, taking sharper turns and use as few tiles to run as possible. Good luck - you got this, you already have the mindset you need for it!
This is so stupid on mobile. No way to mark. So dumb
