I cut the tabs off and used trim adhesive on mine to keep from drilling holes. Worked well.
    Enjoy your videos.

Jimmy I really like that Chevrolet script. That’s the little things that make a car or truck unique.
I think you know what you have to do. Cut the tabs off sand it off flat put the shoe goo on and call it a day 😎Dave H

Those scripts go perfect on those 60 - 66 C/K series with the Custom trim level. I like that Grandpa Munster sticker there too. The Custom was the first top of the line trim level & was the only optional trim level too from 60 - 66.

Jimmy, I have seen pictures of a 66 C10 glove box door that had the trim piece removed. It appears that Chevrolet used what is called a barrel clip. The way it works is you drill the hole, put the clip in the hole, and when you slide, the stud in the clip holds the stud. That should be the w ay they put the emblems on the square body trucks.
If it were my truck, I would consider removing the studs smooth out the back of the trim piece and use 3M molding tape. I hope it helps. Your friend Mike.

I'd say you're are right about that, my friend! I think that is what I am going to do and just glue it to the Glove Box Lid. Thank you so much, Mike, for your help. I really appreciate it! Have a blessed day today my friend!

Hi Jimmy. The script will look great when you get it on. I believe the nuts that go on those studs are called speed nuts, which looks like what you have. I was wandering if that plate at the
bottom of the door might pry off. Then you would have access to the studs. I would probably remove the studs and go with double sided tape. That way you or any future owner can
remove it if desired, and there would be zero holes to fill. Have a blessed day my friend.

Ok brother my knowledge ain't what it used to be but if I remember correctly those 3 pins require and should've come with some tube nut style fasteners that install on the door. When you push the 3 pins thru they tighten on the pins. I'm not sure if your emblem came with those little fellers but if you made a paper template the exact dimensions of the backside of the emblem you could mark the template with the pins on center, cut the holes and transfer template to the glovebox door for precise hole location, drill the holes, install the tube nuts, push the emblem on. Whew! There are other methods I'm sure but I think that's the way those are installed. You shouldn't have to cut anything unless you cut the pins off to glue it on instead. If I remember correctly the chrome accent options for that year's dash was only offered on the 64-66 models and are the main identifiers of what makes those models "Custom". Hope this helps you figure out how you want to go about it. Either way it's gonna look great and it won't matter until somebody tries to remove it in the future! 😁 take care brother and y'all have good nite!

You still have your knowledge my friend! That makes sense to me. I think that I will probably just glue it on the door. Your comment made the most sense. Sure do appreciate your help my friend! God bless you and your family always!

I would drill holes and use barrel nuts. Barrel nuts snap into a hole and then you just press the pegs in. I bet GM Tim knows what I'm talking about.

    • @primeredisbest
      @primeredisbest  Před 2 měsíci

Yes, I know what barrel nuts are. I'm still trying to figure out the way that Chevrolet done it when they made it! Lol. Thanks buddy!

    Drill Holes for the tabs.
Drill them all the way through to the inside.
Then drill the inside hole out big enough to get your socket in And reach the tabs.

I know how you feel nothing's ever simple as it seems in most cases you would figure that nowadays they would have instructions shipped with the part to show you how to install it but it never seems to be that case and sometimes aftermarket parts sometimes just do not fit what requires modification to attach it.
To be honest I would be at a loss too on how to install it at least in the correct way anyway but hopefully you'll get something figured out because sometimes CZcams is good for some things but other things not be the way I hope that you can figure it out.
But either way it's a sharp-looking truck that you got.

I bought a replacement for mine. I popped the old one off which revealed the 3 holes. The new one seemed to snap in the 3 holes and was snug and doesn't move. I don't remember getting those nuts to go on the back and I'm not sure how you would put them on. Even if you took the glove box off of the dash, you still cannot get to the area where the nuts would go. I thought all c10s came with the glove box emblem but I guess not. I'm 50/50 on whether I would drill 3 holes or just glue it on if it were my truck.

Thank you for the good info! I am getting more inclined to just break the studs and glue it on. Quick and easy for me too! Thanks buddy for your help!

@@primeredisbest I dug a little deeper and took my emblem off to realize I did have the tube nuts that came with the new emblem/script and I just inserted the new tube nuts into the existing hole and then popped the emblem on. I know this doesn't help your situation with having no holes but wanted to update. The kicker is my cab was a base and didn't have any fancy trim so I'm surprised my cab had the glovebox emblem but then again my truck is a mix of 64, 65 and 66 but my cab is a 66 base and maybe my glovebox came from the 65 truck.

Probably would glue it instead drilling holes then if a hole is a little off then Chevrolet doesn't line up right, glue it ,least that could happen just have glue to clean up,, no holes to fill

3M double sided tape is your friend. Your way over thinking this Jimmy. Tape it,I have reaped my window deflectors(dark plastic ones) several times when the supplied tape comes use. I recommend 3M brand, bet GM TIM38 has some.
