    I cannot believe the mechanic quoted me $500-600 for this job. Thank you for your service. For a mechanically inclined person. This is straightforward. We should all know how to do basic vehicle work. this should never be $600. Thankfully my dad was always doing stuff like this, and I loved watching.

    OMG, THANK YOU!! My brakes are grinding, I got my new rotors and brake pads, but have been waiting for my son who hasn't materialized. I've been home bound and have had it. I'm mechanically inclined and have worked on my cars in the past. Your video is excellent, step by step, I don't think I'll have any problems. The only thing I wish you had addressed was if the calipers are bad.

      so glad to help. Calipers usually don't have any issues. It is going to be the brake line that attaches to it if it has any cuts or leaks in it and this wont' make the piston move in and out on the brake pad.

    Grease them caliper pins with a brake silicone grease so the caliper can slide freely and that will give you even brake wear

    God bless GM for updating their front four wheel drive setup. I also have a 1988 Suburban, and you have to take the entire front hub assembly apart to change the front rotors. Hubs and bearings down to the spindle. My Yukon will take me an hour or two to do the whole vehicle

      @sergeantspeed5941 Před 22 dny

      Spindles are very easy. I've done both. One big nut and washer, and the whole thing is off and you can inspect your bearings and replace them for 12 dollars if need be. The updated ones, you can't visually inspect for pitting or wear, since they're contained separately. You can do a brake job and a month later, you're taking it all off to do the bearings.

    I’ve been thinking about making videos of me fixing my Yukon. My mom and I fix our trucks together all the time. Honestly It’s easy watching men fix their cars and trucks. They have a lot of upper body strength. Sometimes it’s hard for me to just reach down in my truck or be underneath and get things lose😂 but I think watching myself or my mom and I would make a lot of women say “ If she can do that I know I can!”❤

    Thank you! I’ve never done my brakes but I’ve done some MUCH harder jobs all by myself. I just changed my water pump over the weekend by myself 😁(Yeah I’m bragging, I’m proud😂) so I know I can do this with no problem! Thanks for the video!❤

    If your jack handle breaks down into segments, it works great as a breaker bar

    Decent video, but you didn't grease anything. So easy to pull the slide pins and clean and re-grease...and also the new clips for the brake pads. A definite in my books for any brake job.

      I agree, I normally put anti cease on the back of the rotors where they contact the hub. It makes it much easier to get them off in the future. Also use brake lube where the pads contact the clips.
