- Flame King YSN500K Heavy Duty 500,000 BTU Propane Torch Weed Burner with Flint Striker ($50). I tried this thing out on different areas with mixed results. It works well for burning little weeds out of bricks and small contained rock areas. It doesn't quite cut it for an area we have well established weeds with deep tap roots. I imagine if you burn them enough (3-5 times) they will start to die and plan to try in late summer when they are more dried out.
Better for your health, kids, pets, etc. than roundup and chemicals though. (paid link)

I was burning weeds very thoroughly one dry day, and came out hours later to find some roots had smoldered their way about 6ft underground and burned the bottom of a cedar fence. This was in bark mulch. I decided after thanksgiving I needed to water after burning.
dadeloins have a deep taproot and WILL come back. They can live for years.
Does the amount of btu matter like having a 500,000 btu torch less effective then 800,000 btu?
Can you demonstrate the durning your house part? I want to see how easy it is
It’s no joke, I used one close to a wooden fence, thought it was fine, left then came back to an inferno, thank god my neighbor banged on my door and I had plenty of fire extinguishers.
That little blade of grass worked so hard to make it's way up through the cracks in the concrete and then... Poor little blade of grass,.
I would add salt between those bricks.
Think I would move the propane tank as far as possible from the open flame just for safety reasons. You get one chance to get it right. Probably not worth an explosion to get rid of those pesky weeds.
Kinda like a oxy torch😂
Looks fun but that is about it. There are environmental weed killers out that don’t involve almost burning your house down🤷🏽
Damn I thought this could be a solution. Doesn’t look super effective.
