Holy cow! You must have a huge storage area for your arsenal of tents that you are accumulating! Choices Choices Choices! Nice!! Looks like a nice addition - and the camp site is spot on!
Nope and I totally am running out of space, that is for sure. Some girls collect shoes and purses, I like tents. Ha Ha! If you girls ever get down there, let me know I'll tell you where you want to camp! ~RVA~
Awesome tent, I love that it's so spacious and the set up with the poles. It's great that it's got the storage pockets and it's seam sealed. Man, look at that space. And oh, not to mention the awesome switch for the lights and that you can remove the light pocket. I can't blame you for jumping into the water for refreshment.
Thanks Nicole. I really love this tent for my lake camping trips. It's really perfect. It's really cool that you have a light switch on the inside and one on the outside and heck that it even has its own light too. Nice touch. Love to take my kayaks there at that location too. ~RVA~
Nice review RVA Hiker Girl, I also have CORE 10 person tent, but without the vestibule. My family love hanging out and watching movies inside the tent with so much room. It was nice to see that you were even able to do a little rain test over night. Thank You
I love all the space in this tent! Enough room for friends and family. Easy to set up, I really am enjoying it. All the windows are everything for me to let the light in and breeze through. Thanks for stopping by and watching. ~RVA~
Deluxe tent! I love the windows too! Looks pretty easy to set up - good thing you got the rain fly on right before the rain started. You’ve got tons of space inside when it’s just two of you. I probably wouldn’t think of a 10 person tent for just the two of us, great idea! The lights and skylight are a great bonus! Happy Camping! 😄☀☀☀
Those windows are everything. And of course, they close up for privacy too. I have an inflatable sofa that I put in there too and a stand alone hammock too. It's all so much fun! ~RVA~
@@RVAHikerGirl Wow! Lots of save for sure! I camped by myself once with a 3 person tent … had enough space to put a small chair in - was perfect for me in the evening when the bugs came out and before I went to sleep. I really like your other tent for a coveted eating area too! 👌👍
Hello RVA, very nice tent. It definitely has room for many people and furnishings. Thanks for sharing your tent with us.
Thank you John! Yes I needed something bigger from my backpacking tents and this is working out great. Appreciate you stopping by and watching. ~RVA~
Wow...that tent is amazing! Thanks for the tour! Enjoy!
Absolutely, you are so welcome! I love it and I am so picky about tents. This one checks all the boxes. Thanks, Jeryl Annee for watching! ~RVA~
@@RVAHikerGirl I really enjoy your videos. I've learned so much. I am in the process of converting my SUV for when I am able to hit the road...even if it is part time. I appreciate all that you share with us.
I love your campsite view and the tent. Great spot.
Ah yes, this location if 1 of my favs in my state and I got back several times each year. I can't stay away, LOL! ~RVA~
Amazing tent certainly not going to be cramped up in that one even if it rains all day, great video be safe and have fun
True, True! Ha Ha! When you camp as much as I do, you want space to move around so you're not so cramped. Tent lover right here for sure. And great locations make it a great time! ~RVA~
Awesome tent for big families or extra room for a couple of peeps!
Thank you! All my research paid off on this tent for sure. Very happy with her! ~RVA~
WOW! That's a good size tent with sooo much room! Definitely plenty of room for a family and cool feature with the light, that's a good idea built in. I would probably be silly and setup a hammock inside 😉 lol great demo my friend 🤠🌲
Actually I have a small fee standing hammock that would work great in there! Tents are so much fun, no matter what size they are. Thanks so much Natureman. -RVA~
Awesome tent Jackie. Tent attic. Lol. That 10 person tent is almost a little home. I'm now leaning towards car/truck camping too.
Thank you. It's for sure a home away from home. Home is where you pitch it right? I can't wait to see a video of your 1st night in your new truck tent. ~RVA~
Your camping spot is gorgeous! And I love your camp setup!
Thanks so much! It's one of my fav spots in VA to camp. Appreciate you stopping by and checking out the channel. ~RVA~
that is a great size, and it looked pretty quick to set up
Yes, they advertise it's a 2-minute setup. I say that's pretty close after you have done it a few times. Minus hammering the stakes in. It's really a great home away from home. Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking out this video. ~RVA~
Thanks for the info
@@keithrudge sure thing!
I have had the 10 person Ozark Trail dark rest , used it for a couple trips but sold it. It's too dark and that dark material is actually a dark coating that feels super cheap.
Now I bought a core 9 person instant tent with the full rainfly. It is a far better quality tent the mesh , tighter less ripples, especially the zippers . It also seems it has a higher thread count. Also The door how they zip open and close with one hand. Its better thought out. I recommend core over Ozark for sure
Yeah I can’t do dark tents. They are great to keep the light out if it wakes you up. But I am not a person who sleeps in really when I camp. I’m usually up before the sun. I love this one because it’s bright and has windows for ventilation and great views. Love Core products.
Glad you found a tent that works for you. Everyone likes something different in a tent. But once you find it, you are a happy camper!
Just seam sealed out Core 11 with the Front Porch. Was surprised to see the seams taped/sealed. Might buy this one as a back up! Thanks for the video!
Highly recommend seam ceiling and spray ceiling this tent. I do this to all of my tents that are made of anything outside of Dyneema. Better safe than sorry when a big old storm pops up. You don’t want any surprises when you’re camping like that.
The tent is awesome!!! Kerr Lake is one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a reservation this year. We were tent campers, but we purchased a travel trailer last year. Enjoy!!!!
Thank you! Really, I’m surprised. I was just there last week and tons and tons of campsites were available. Rudd’s Creek, Longwood and Occoneechee SP on the same lake also have campsites. Wish you luck in trying to find someplace cool to take your travel trailer to that sounds like fun.
@@RVAHikerGirl ...one thing people do is just reserve, reserve. reserve and they don't bother to cancel, which is sad because someone else could have enjoyed the sight. We noticed the same thing when we were there.
Love it.
Thanks a whole bunch! ~RVA~
what a pretty camp site! oh I love the tent too LOL
Ha Ha! I understand, it’s a pretty great camp location. ❤️ ~ RVA~
Girl... You're my soul person... I also have a tent collection... 6 and counting...
Ha Ha tent sisters unite! Love different tents for different ways of camping.
Awesome tent! That's the Taj Mahal right there!
Ha Ha, right! A little extra space never hurts. Thanks MaxG for checking this one out. ~RVA~
One of the best camping locations in VA! Love it and your review. Camping now at 184 C.
No better place to be! My all time fav! Have a blast!
@@RVAHikerGirl thanks will be checking out this tent as well. any other recommendations? family of 3 and a dog.
@@JessicaNorwood-wf5vr core makes a 6 person tent as well. It’s a bit easier to set up than this one.
That looks like a really comfortable tent. I believe you have a great collection! 😁
Have a great day! Kaat
Yes different tents for different types of camping. This one is especially good for lake camping being so light and airy. Now when my friends come camping I have room for them too. Happy Hump Day Kaat! ~RVA~
It looks palatial!! So nice to have a screened in porch in the rain to just enjoy it! This might be a good option when our current car camping tent craps out. LOVE the lights! How did the windows do with the rain? I hope you're doing well!!
I love having space in a tent to move around, stand up and house all my gear. This tent for sure does all of that and more. It's a great color and just lots of great light coming in. The windows don't leak. The way they are designed, you keep them zipped up high under where the tent is seam sealed. You know I am big on lots of lights at camp every time I go out. It wouldn't be one of my campsites without them. Thanks, Switchback for watching! ~RVA~
Fantastic looking tent 🏕 , this seems like a great investment if you are going hiking or camping with multiple people. It seems to be made of good quality.👌👌
Yes, I have used it several times as a base camp for section hiking the AT. It worked out great for that. And it was perfect for lake camping too. Love it. ~RVA~
A friend is looking for a tent like that. He wants something that he can stand up in and is roomy. This one seems perfect for him.
Absolutely. I can't touch the ceiling, not even close. It's 7 - 8ft high maybe at the center. And you can set it up in 5 minutes, excluding staking it. I had it in some knarly winds too and it held up like a champ. Really impressed with it so far. If he has any questions, send him my video. Happy to help if I can. ~RVA~
I already sent him the link to the video. Also, I like the new opening for your videos.👍
😮That’s a castle!👍
Yes! It's crazy how small my backpacking tents are compared to this one. When weight is not an issue, why not enjoy some space and room to move, right? Ha Ha! ~RVA~
@@RVAHikerGirl Exactly! Why not?✌️
I'm curious to know if the room divider is opaque enough at night with the lights on for privacy?
Great video!!
Oh I haven’t really used the room divider it is dark gray in color but I don’t really know if it keeps light out. It’s not super thick not sure if that helps or not.
Quite a tent you are showing us here. This is more like a home than a tent; but that is another matter:-)
When I am car camping I like to have more space than when I am backpacking. LOL! Since weight isn't an issue, I opted to get a larger tent. So when I do have family and friends to join me on camping trips I have room for them to sleep. Home is where you pitch your tent right? For a night or for a week. Ha Ha. Thanks for stopping by and watching. ~RVA~
@@RVAHikerGirl It makes perfect sense to go spacious when your car does the transportation:-)
This is so helpful! Thank you! Do you know about how big the screen room area is? Or what size chairs would fit in there to sit comfortably? Also, do you spray your tents with any tent waterproof spray? And if so, is there a particular brand you think works the best?
Love hearing this. The website would have the exact dimensions. But 2 normal size folding chairs work great. You could fit 3. I usually do 2 and a small table in between. Yes I seam seal and spray seal all of my tents unless they are made from dyneema (backpacking tents) I use a Walmart spray sealer and a black tube of seam sealer that is sold at REI. I don't recall either name, but you will see both pop up if you do a search on their websites. Hope that helps. ~RVA~
Hi, thanks for the review. Any recommendations for tent stakes?
Glad you enjoyed the video. So I have many kinds of stakes that I bring because you never know if the ground is going to hard over saturated. I have big orange spiral sand stakes from Walmart, I have some of their longer stakes for windy conditions, I have msr ground hogs in multiple lengths and a bunch of random ones from other tents. Those shiny silver ones bend and break that a lot of tents come with. I like placing 2 longer stakes on opposite corners to really hold the tent incase a thunderstorm pops up which has happened many times to me. I always stake out the fly too as that helps to support tents in windy conditions. Hope this info is useful. ~RVA~
Hello, thanks for the great video! How many queen sized air mattress can we fit inside the tent? Would you know?
You are welcome. Hmm maybe 3 and then 2 twins at the bottom. That’s totally just a guess
@@RVAHikerGirl Thank you, I appreciate your response!
Great video! I’m curious about those sleeping pads? Can you please share?
The mattresses are UST Gear Fillmatics. They are 4" thick and are self inflatable. Most comfortable camp mattress I have ever slept on.
@@RVAHikerGirl Thank you! Will be looking into these,
Can you zip up the air vents inside or do they stay open?
Question about the shelter you were in during the rain. Was the rain being kept out somehow or is that just the screen soaked through? I'm wondering how dry you actually were under that shelter during the rain.
Oh I wasn't dry at all. I was holding the screened in porch down, because a thunderstorm popped up and I thought it was going to blow away in the wind. I didn't have time to fully stake it out before the storm hit.) I was soaked from the rain coming in the sides. I spray sealed the top, so no rain was coming in from the top just the sides. Hope that helps. ~RVA~
DJ The Florida Camper!!!
Hi love your new Core tent question is the tent 14 x 10 with or without the screen room??? I am looking into buying one.
Very good review Thank you!!!
Not 100% sure. The website says 14' by 10' for the tent. If I had to guess I may say it might add a few additional feet. The screen room is attached and it's not removable. ~RVA~
thank u for showing us we werw how long it would take
You are welcome! I hope it was helpful. ~RVA~
Awesome video, I’m glad you clarified it was the lighted version as it is blue vs the green color with no light. I have one question, does the foot print come with it?
Second question, where is that camping spot?
Glad you enjoyed the video. No the footprint is sold separately.
@@arisistible1 North Bend in Virginia
@@RVAHikerGirl figured so, it didn’t mention it on the site nor did my other tents come with one. Thank you.
@@arisistible1 I’m not sure if any tent comes with a ground cover. I’m pretty sure they are always a separate purchase. But this is a great light and airy tent.
Thank you so much for the informative video. It was well presented clear and precise. I love the space. I love the windows. I love the vestibule, but I wondered about the effectiveness of it being waterproof versus water resistant. Did you have or have you had any problems with rain ingress into the tent or worse from below Thank you so much for your continued videos. They are much appreciated.
Ps where did you purchase the product and for how much? Thanks
@@keithrudge no tent is waterproof unless it’s made from dyneema like ultra light backpacking tents. All tents made from materials other than dyneema no matter they claim, should be seam and spray sealed, including this one. I sealed the whole tent before camping in it. There’s nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night with a leaky tent and all of your gear is wet. Been there, done that. It’s not fun. No I’ve. Ever had any leaks since I sealed it prior to taking it out.
@@RVAHikerGirl exactly right, thanks for the info.. carry on camping.. 😎
@@keithrudge you know it! Always happy to help!
How is the tent holding up now? Any problems with it now or is it still doing great. Looks like a promising tent tbh.
Its doing good. Love the windows that allow for great views and ventilation. I seamed sealed it like I don't with most of my tents for piece of mind. So far no leaks. ~RVA~
Hi there great info on the tent model, would you tell me what is the width of the D doors?
I would check the website for measurements. They are pretty big doors. Maybe a little wider than a standard room door. Sorry I don't have that tent nearby to be able to pull out an measure for you.
Im a solo hiker and camper, do you think this tent could be set up by one person
I mean you could, but I personally would not want to. It would be tough set up and it's heavy. They have a 6 person and a 4 person tent as well. The 4 person is an easy sent up and it tall and roomy like this one. Just no front porch.
I LOVE the tent!!!! Am going to look into it. Would you share where you are in VA? I've spent a lot of time in VA beach area, but want to now camp and that site looks amazing!
For safety I don't share where I live. But I travel all over Virginia and the southeast. This location in the video at Buggs Island.
@@RVAHikerGirl Thank you! I wasn't asking where you live, just where the camp site is. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Love your videos and follow them often.
@@agjomarkaj No worries, I could have misread your comment. The campsite is at Kerr Lake on the VA/NC border. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Very much appreciate it. ~RVA~

Welcome to my channel. You would be right. The vestibule keeps the rain out of the tent. It’s great sitting in the screen porch while it’s raining.

Does the tent come with the ground cover tarp? Thanks!
No the ground sheet is a separate purchase. I think as with most tent companies they are usually always sold separately. You can find it on the Core Equipment website. ~RVA~
Hi. Is the quality of the tent good and strong?
In UK the weather is pretty bad and unpredictable
Hi, yes I mention in the video that I am impressed with the quality of the construction of this 10p tent. I had it high winds on top of a mountain and it did great. I used longer and stronger stakes to make sure it was anchored down well. But for very windy parts of the world, a lower profile tent would handle those sorts of constant conditions better. Thanks for watching from the UK. I watch tons of CZcamsrs from the UK. ~RVA~
Great video! Could I ask where you are camping at in this video?
Sure this in at Kerr Lake in southern VA at North Bend Campground. Rudd’s Creek and Occoneechee State Park also have campsites on the water too.
@@RVAHikerGirl awesome thank you! Love your videos 🙌
Any thoughts on core 9p with full rain fly?
@@keithrudge I can’t as I don’t own that one. But I do own a 6p and a 4p tent from them and I like them both.
Wow, what a monster…almost like a small garage… 🤣
Yep Yep! I sure do love her though! It's crazy after sleeping in that and going to one of my backpacking tents. hee hee ~RVA~
So how much rain actually gets in after a rain like this?
No rain got inside the tent at all. I closed it all up and shut all the windows. The screened in porch now I got drenched with the rain coming in from the screens on all sides but the storm blew in an I had to stand inside and hold it down so those winds didn't blow it across the lake. LOL!
Did you seam seal the tent or did it come sealed?
I always seam seal and spray seal all of my tents with the exception of tents made with dyneema which are usually ultralight backpacking tents. Better to be safe than sorry and have all your gear get soaked.
Does it come with that floor tarp you put in the beginning? Or do I have to buy that separate?
@@mariajewelpatterson7157 no it’s a separate purchase. You don’t really need it as the floor of the tent is thick tarp like material.
@@RVAHikerGirl Does the air intake has mesh screen?
@@mariajewelpatterson7157 air intake? Do you mean the screened in front porch? Or the windows?
@@RVAHikerGirl the floor vent - I saw like an opening at the bottom of the tent
@@mariajewelpatterson7157 hmm it doesn’t have a opening in the tent. There is a Velcro section where you can run an electrical cord inside the tent, but maybe it was a shadow or something you saw.
Do you always put a tarp underneath the tent?
No, it just depends on how much time I have and how long I am going to be camping for etc. On this trip I was there for 3 days and had lots of time. You don't need one, the bathtub on this tent is strong and pretty durable.
Thanks
@@StanleyDymeck-mp3yp Sure thing!
Can 1 person set this tent up?
I personally wouldn’t try it. It’s very top heavy and the set up instructions stay for 2 ppl for raise the corners up at the same time. I would use something smaller for just 1 person. This company has lots of different sized tents. I also have their 6 person and 4 person tents.
Hi! Do you happen to know your site number? It looks amazing!
Not off the top of my head, but I have a Kerr Lake video I did there shows several of the waterfront campsites including this one and it states several of the campsite numbers. czcams.com/video/kjRjwyu54EI/video.html

I have a huge screen in porch to the right of the tent, its in the video several times. It's nearly as big as this 10 person tent.
