You’re 1 BILLION percent correct on these in every way. All you’re really paying $200 for is a thick sturdy box, a tote bag that no one will ever use, and the name. Not a bad looking shoe… but definitely not worth the price… or even worse… the resellers prices.
I agree, $200 is too much for these and I have no idea why they couldn't have at least thrown in some Formula 23 at least. I still love the look of them and really want a pair, but if these were not a Travis Scott shoe they would sit, which would work for me as I would just wait for them to go on deep discount then buy them, throw in a Move insole and be hella happy. Also I would 100% pick shark over plane, I am NOT about to eat some people.

I’ve been wearing a pair for about 6 weeks now and I honestly love them. I find them REALLY comfortable and easy to wear, even on long days. This might end up being an underrated shoe in the end.
To be honest, I wasn't expecting this shoe to be much as well. Also I would take the Shark for the question of the day. I would be haunted remembering that I ate my family members.

I totally agree with the lack of tech, I have a pair and was so confused when I first picked them up out of the box. They are incredibly light, almost to the point I thought something was missing. They are very comfortable though so no knocks there.
Ive come to the conclusion that most of these celebrity collabs arent priced for the average consumer and i agree, for the price you should get more tech and comfort but when youre paying for the name nothing else matters

As a fan of trav for over 10 years now since 2012 he’s been pretty consistent with his sneaker choices sticking to vans, jordan 1s and 4s, yeezys, and some designer sneakers here there but not really these make kinda make sense as his take on a more old school nike style trainer. i was expecting something else but as a travis style sneaker it makes sense

I'm looking forward to the trainer review. I had the OG Trunners in 2000 and they just separated last year. They were some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had with Forefoot zoom, mesh toe box, and the clamping heal. I got them on clearance for $90 from Eastbay when they originally retailed for $115. I understant inflation, but the way Jordan prices have gone is crazy since they don't put half the tech in the shoes anymore. Shoes that used to have full length zoom either cut it down to just the heal or replace it with an air unit.
These shoes have really grown on me and I actually like them. Took an L today, of course. eBay is offering 10% off so I decided to pay $600 resale before the prices shoot up over $1000 eventually

The way the outsole is made reminds me of the high(er) fashion brand PRIMURY. They had these kind of outsole’s around some 5 years ago and still sell them: the PRIMURY DYO

I think it’s a bit of a reach expecting performance and tech out of a Travis Scott shoe. We get 1985 tech out of a Jordan 1 and we pay $180 for those. So we’re paying for the hype of the Travis Scott name with these and the quality isn’t great but it’s not bad either.
This kind of reminds me of the Jordan Stadium 90, just a bit sleeker and trendier. Very disappointing to hear about not even having a good cushioning system like a zoom or bubble air unit within the sneaker. I'd like to know if with the strap on, this JJ/TR fits like an Air Trainer 1 (Yay fit) or a Jordan Legacy 23 (Notoriously crap fit)❓

I actually think these look quite good. I've kinda always liked shoes with straps like the Jordan 312s, Jordan 8s, Air FOG Raids. Unfortunately these are Travis collabs and as such, I had absolutely no chance to get them at retail, and won't be able to afford them at resale prices.

These are super limited, they're always going to be high priced because of the royalty payments, they're guaranteed to sell out, so why not throw in $5 worth of tech and price them at $210? I don't get some of the decisions that get made.
You make a great point. There’s another shoe out there that has a similar aesthetic, that’s cheaper and probably more comfy: the Air Trainer 1. Give me two of those all day over one of these. As far as the question goes, I’ll take the shark. Survivor’s guilt would be strong either way, but at least I didn’t have to eat people I know to get there.
Didn't go for these at all. The only reason I saw to try for a pair was to resell them based on the fact they're going for 3x on the secondary market. I like to wear my shoes and I wouldn't wear these cinder blocks at $200. I thought they'd put some tech in them since they're a "new" model inspired by previous ones, but it's like they just threw a bone to resellers with these. "These will sell no matter what they feel like because of Travis, we don't have to try at all". That's the feeling I get with these. Sad cause they do look pretty good, but I know they'd destroy my feet. I really don't get why Nike/Jordan are seemingly nickel and diming with tech right now. There's no shot it costs them more for these zoom units then it did 25 years ago. You perfect a tech, you streamline the process in making the tech, the price goes down. Yet they continue to make smaller and wierder zoom units (see the Jordan Zoom Separate and Greek Freaks). It just feels like gouging at this point to me. I'd rather pass on these and grab a second pair of the Military Blues (I hit the shock drop) this weekend.

Even with the dope packaging, it's still not worth paying $200 plus tax. Goes without saying that shoe boxes aren't meant to be worn

These are super limited, they're always going to be high priced because of the royalty payments, they're guaranteed to sell out, so why not throw in $5 worth of tech and price them at $210?

You make a great point. There’s another shoe out there that has a similar aesthetic, that’s cheaper and probably more comfy: the Air Trainer 1. Give me two of those all day over one of these.
As far as the question goes, I’ll take the shark. Survivor’s guilt would be strong either way, but at least I didn’t have to eat people I know to get there.

Didn't go for these at all. The only reason I saw to try for a pair was to resell them based on the fact they're going for 3x on the secondary market. I like to wear my shoes and I wouldn't wear these cinder blocks at $200.
I thought they'd put some tech in them since they're a "new" model inspired by previous ones, but it's like they just threw a bone to resellers with these. "These will sell no matter what they feel like because of Travis, we don't have to try at all". That's the feeling I get with these. Sad cause they do look pretty good, but I know they'd destroy my feet. I really don't get why Nike/Jordan are seemingly nickel and diming with tech right now. There's no shot it costs them more for these zoom units then it did 25 years ago. You perfect a tech, you streamline the process in making the tech, the price goes down. Yet they continue to make smaller and wierder zoom units (see the Jordan Zoom Separate and Greek Freaks). It just feels like gouging at this point to me. I'd rather pass on these and grab a second pair of the Military Blues (I hit the shock drop) this weekend.

I went to buy these in a size 14 and it wasn’t even an option!!! So I got a size 15 hoping they would fit, and actually got them. Got them and they are way too big. 😢 I just want to trade them for a 14, but that size wasn’t even released. I don’t understand that.
