    I will add in that when you send in the .pdf, they remove the cutoff boundaries that are left there.

    That's nice. I printed 500 no friends and family would buy. I went to stores and streets corners. I only manage to sell maybe 3 calendars in a whole year. It was tough but I tried.

    Hey Joshua! Great video, very informative.
    For some reason when I open the template, it's coming out portrait mode. I see yours is landscape. I've tried flipping it on print, but only the page flips. The image stays portrait.. Any tips?

    Thanks for this. Best explanation I’ve found on CZcams.
    One question; does the software allow you to add a caption, explanation, or other text for the monthly images?

      Yeah in Photoshop you can open the image separately and use whatever text and caption you would want and save that photo then load saved photo into the calendar month you want.

    Hey, first thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful and also I wanted to know how could you get around uploading your interior content when you only have 29 pages? I am wanting to sell a calendar that I created and I tried uploading it on Amazon but it's not letting me and it keeps saying that it must have a minimum of 75 pages, I am not sure what to do now 😬

      Yeah you can. I added text down there so every month on the bottom had my website.

    Your video was a great help, thank you. I learned quite a bit. I see others have asked how to remove the green and red lines from the month's layers so that it won't print onto the final copies? I understand the company does this for you but is there a way I can do it myself? Possibly another tutorial from you on how to remove it. Any help is appreciated.

      In previous years when I made the calendar, I used Indesign which gave that option to remove basically anything. However, for myself, I feel like it is harder to use that program.

      Last year I got to it too late and almost missed it for having it for my Christmas gifts. I ordered it on December, 7th and it got shipped out the 14th and arrived the 18th. I would definately recommend at least ordering in Novemeber just to make sure it arrives in plenty of time.

      When submitting the document with that, they sent me back the preview to approve without it.

    Hi, did you get the template from Smart Press, edit it in photo shop and then pull it back into Smart Press? Or do it all in Smart Press?

      I got the template from smart press, edit in photoshop, export as pdf, then upload that pdf to smart press in the checkout process.

      That’s pretty much up to you. Maybe to start ask friends and family if they would be interested in buying? If there are any shops ( souvenir, bookstores, maybe coffee shop) it doesn’t hurt to ask if you can sell them there and work out some deal with them. If you don’t know how many you want to get maybe do a pre-order ad campaign of some sort for a certain amount of time to figure out closer to a number to order. There’s a bunch of different methods you could go about trying.

      No, I have not sourced out for another company since I found this one, because of how well the product and service has been for me. This company has been great and cheaper for bulk orders compared to other common ones such as vistaprint and shutterfly.

    Hey Joshua! Thank you for the awesome explanation. I have ordered my first calendar and they are asking me to remove the "FPO Lines" from the months. Any idea how to do that on photoshop? Thanks in advance!

      I just uploaded a video on showing myself having the same issue this year. It hasn’t been a problem before, but they replaced the pdf files of all the month grid pages for me with ones without lines so I could approve and get ordered. I’m still trying to figure this one out.

      I showed in the video going through the setting on the website under shrinkwrap service to select the option that says individual with chip board. Selecting that is how you will receive each calendar individually wrapped/sealed.

      The way I would and am going to try since recently moving to a new location is reaching out to local shops and see what kind of deal I could maybe do with them to sell.

      Wherever you can find. Look for local coffee shops, gift stores, etc. and just ask if you can sell there and work out a deal with them.

      Previously when I have submitted the .pdf file to them, they send back a proof with lines gone

      @@joshuapowell8880 Thanks. I wound up pulling it up in InDesign. If you turn off all the rulers / guides they disappear and you can export it again without them. Good to know they would have just done it for me though!

    Hey Josh, I'm not following how or where I save the smartpress pdf template...I saved it in my downloads but when I open it it doesn't enable me to work in it....thanks for your help

      After you export to .pdf you cannot edit when viewing the pdf. Any editing done to images and text you add is done in photoshop and then you would need to re-export it to a .pdf file

      I design, smartpress creates, then the selling is up to you by going to local shops and asking if you can sell them in their store and work out a deal with them.

      Yes, the past few years I have only ordered about 30. It does, though make the price per calendar go up the fewer you order.

    am I seeing this wrong? Your video states creating for under $5 though in your ordering page you are ordering 30 calendars for $467.87? Divided by 30 equals 15.57 per calendar which makes your CZcams video title look like click bait and makes one not want to subscribe as in this video I must be missing how to create a calendar for under $5.

      @@joshuapowell8880 I agree 100%. His big reason was calendars expire and you'll do better licensing the photos to a calendar maker. I was always the guy who created the art and left it on a hard drive. My wife started having my photos printed and framed. I have something I can see and hold on to everyday of my life that was a very impactful decision on her part.
