One thing that makes this scarier that wasn't mentioned is that often times when large aquatic animals open their mouths, the rushing water tends to suck critters into the mouth against their will. Not only could it eat you in one bite, and can it outswim you, but all it has to do is open its mouth.

Generally it is from people trying to get their money back, or trying to get an item out. Once you tip them even slightly they fall pretty easily and squirsh you.

Basilosaurus, Tylosaurus, Pliosaurus, and Mosasaurus. Megalodon was similar in size to all of these, but they lived at different times.

Apparently the megalodon was more closely related to the Mako shark then the great white. If that's the case then it was beyond massive & super fast.

Honestly, we have no way of guessing what it looked like, since, as with modern sharks, the only bones in its body are jaws and teeth. Since the rest is made of cartilage, which doesn't fossilize, we will never know for sure what it actually looked like.

Your wrong about the Great White having the most powerful bite in the animal kingdom, which actually is held by the salt water crocodile. Additionally the Bull Shark has the largest bit force of any shark.

No mention of Dunkleosteus, the 33 foot long monster eel with BONE ARMOR, a 10,000 PSI bite, and a staple remover for a jaw? That thing was definitely deserving of a mention! It's my favorite animal ever, but I'm still glad it's extinct considering it's badass enough to terrify people after being extinct for 360 million years. I know it was technically a placoderm (armored fish) and not an eel, but I just called it an eel because that's the fish its body plan is most similar to.

Megalodon are actually not particularly close relatives of Great Whites. While they used to be classified in the same family it is now believed that it is part of the now-extinct Otodontidae family, which diverged from the Lamnidae in the late Cretaceous. For comparison, that's roughly the same timespan as what we've diverged from lemurs and tarsiers.
