The largest ever Toyota Corolla to have ever existed was the prehistoric Corrolis Maximus. It stalked the fertile lands of
what would become future Japan . It grew to an impressive 600 tons and burned through 3 stegosauruses in fuel every day. Only a wing mirror and part of the steering wheel exist to this day, and they are rumoured to be hidden in a secret raiders style warehouse somewhere near Tokyo.

There's also an interesting article I read about blue whales and their feeding. They can hold thousands of liters of water in their mouth at once, basically forcing krill in by the suction of opening its mouth. It also has to close its mouth. There's a size limit based on the time it takes to close its mouth (thus potentially letting food escape) versus how much food it requires. At a certain point, it will literally become to big to be able to eat.

It’s so cool to think about the sizes of some prehistoric animals. Some not mentioned in this video that others may like to look up were:
Doedicurus: a giant 2 ton armadillo with a club on its tail.
Indricotherium and Paracatherium which were the second largest land mammals know to man. They looked a giant rhino minus the horn. Tallest was 4.8m at the shoulder and weighed 18t.
The Irish Elk, a massive Deer with horns as wide as 4m across.
Diprotodon:: Essentially a 2m tall, 3 ton wombat.
The bear: Arcotherium, a 3m tall, 1700kg bear. To put that into comparison, a polar bear (the largest bear species alive today) is 1.8-2.4m tall and weighs 450kg...
The largest otter: Enhydriodon was 3m long and weighed 200kg
Elasmotherium was a 2m tall, 6m long woolly Rhino which weighed 4 tonnes. The White rhino, for comparison, is 1.7m tall, 4m long and weighs about 2 tonnes.
Megatherium. A giant ground Sloth which was the size of an elephant. It was one of the largest land mammals ever. It weighed 4 tonnes, was 6m from head to tail and was capable of walking on its hind legs. At 6m tall, it was only succeeded in heigh by a few mammoth species.
Gigantopithecus: A 3m (10ft) tall Orangutan which weighed 1200lb. Extant orangutans are only 1.4m tall and weigh 220lbs.
Archaeoindris: A lemur the size of a silverback gorilla. At 160kg it dwarfs the largest extant lemur (the Indri), which weighs 9kg..
The Asian-Straight Tusked Mammoth is the largest land mammal ever. It was 5.2m at the shoulder, and dwarfed the 3.3m Africa. Elephants alive today.
The Giant Beaver weighed 100kg and was 2.4m long. Compared to the 30kg, 1.5m Eurasian Beaver Alice today.
    Macrauchenia was a 3m tall, 1000kg Camel-Like animal with a trunk.
Toxodon was a 2.7m long 1400kg rhinoceros like creature with a hippo-like head.
Megalania, not to be confused with Melania Trump (easy mistake), was a 7m long lizard weighing 600kg. The largest extant lizard is the Komodo dragon, weighing only 80kg and coming in at 2.6m in length...
Megalochelys was the largest tortoise ever. It came in at 2.7m long, 1.8m high and 4000kg. To put that into comparison, the largest living tortoises are 400kg and 1.8m long...
Scutosaurus was a reptile like none alive today. Built like a tank, it was 3m long and covered in bony armour.
I hope this was interesting. Would definitely recommend looking up the indricotheres and Giant Ground Sloths!

    • @expiringphilosophy7605
      @expiringphilosophy7605 Před 6 lety +5

In lieu of compelling arguments, with both explanations being plausible, I choose to go with what I'd like to believe for aesthetic reasons (i.e., a giant scaly monster is much cooler than a giant ferocious chicken). If there were compelling evidence the T. Rex had feathers, of course I wouldn't stick with my mental picture of a T. Rex with scales...but there isn't such evidence, only conjecture. For now, I'll stick with the Sharptooth from Land Before Time.
