Oil painting was in my bucket list, so I started in my late sixty. My favorite is landscaping and lots of flowers. In winter, I painted the perfect front yard, no weeds, colorful and peaceful. I am almost finishing my backyard over looking the ocean. This will get me through the gloomy days and of course God.
Hearing about your journey with oil painting is truly inspiring! Starting something new, especially something as expressive and beautiful as painting, is a wonderful challenge at any stage of life. Your descriptions of landscapes and gardens sound absolutely magical, and I'm sure your works bring that peace and color to anyone lucky enough to see them. I knew it!!! I started to tilt and turn my head to the right when I thought it would be the perfect way to make ocean waves by lining up thick white paint. The addition of yellow ink made for a firey bright morning sky. I've seen sunrises (sunsets?) like this in Florida and other ocean-lined beaches. You had a keen way of tricking the viewer (but not me😊) I love how you spritzed the water to make it do its own thing and really made it come alive. The shoe brush idea was really good, but most of the effects from that were hidden with the end result, however, your finished product was gorgeous! (About how long would you say those first drags of white (the water) took to dry?
I bought everything on the list. Now I’m ready for this art project. Paint like an artist. I’m so exited. I’ll definitely show you my art after I finished. Thank you Sergio for doing this step by step. You are an amazing artist. I wish you good luck and all the best!

Once again I find myself rewatching this beautiful work of art. It is my absolute favorite of yours. I just love how it all fits together so perfectly.
I have never tried an abstract - I wouldn’t really know how to start, but you have planted seeds of inspiration in me a long time ago and the wish to try and copy this, more or less, will give me a good start, is finally here!
I love that you use everyday objects in your art. We have so much available in our homes for fantastic ideas and textures. I love these colors that you use a lot - they work so well together. I actually have yellow ink here, so the only thing missing is the white acrylic ink.
You have a calm and mindful way of creating such art. So easy and pleasant to watch, to follow - Its all very inspiring. I have to find my style - so I guess its time to try and find it - thank you so much for sharing your love and passion in creating such beautiful art!

Beautiful work on this piece. I got all the materials, made two attempts and still could not get close to achieving that magical lighting effect. Still, had fun doing it!

Hi Sergio, your work is amazing. The techniques that you use are really inspiring it kind of makes you want to try painting with basically anything, I mean if a scrubbing brush can produce work like that 👍 I let myself down in that respect I fear of messing things up. I just get so far along and make no mistakes then I’m scared to go any further in case I screw up. Don’t ask me why but I painted a brick wall, just a plain brick wall. I painted every brick separately all different shades of brick and I was so happy the way it came out, even my sister said it looks like a real wall 😂 I’m so happy with it I’m scared to go any further in case I screw it up, that sounds so sad I know. I’d like to try what you’ve done with the ink it looks so unique, could you point me in the right direction to get a decent ink I am totally lost on what to get. Any suggestion from you or anyone would really help Thank you and good luck 👍

It's not uncommon to be afraid of making mistakes when you're creating something. However, it's important to remember that mistakes are a natural part of the creative process and they can often lead to new discoveries and breakthroughs. So don't be afraid to experiment and take risks!
Regarding the ink that I've used, there are many different types of ink available on the market, I have done this with the french brand Sennelier. (watch my video blog visiting this old store in Paris)

I’d put down my brush for almost 5 months , now … I am feeling like I can “ come back to my canvas again . Thank you for this . I used it to express some things I was going through ( paint/canvas is less expensive than therapy 😊) And I believe it’s helpful
