- The use of aluminum as texture in art dates back to the 1950s, when a group of American artists known as "Abstract Expressionists" began to use non-traditional materials in their artworks, including aluminum. Among these artists are Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Rauschenberg, who all experimented with aluminum to create unique visual effects in their paintings. I have been applying this technique since 2012.
Welcome to this video art tutorial, where I will explore the amazing world of abstract art by creating an abstract landscape on a canvas aluminum foil texture that will amaze the eyes and stimulate the imagination.
I will guide you through every step of the creative process, applying techniques and tips that will help you achieve the desired result. You will learn how to use colors, textures, and shapes to create a unique and captivating abstract forest landscape at night.
The choice of aluminum foil as the base texture for our artwork will allow us to play with light reflections and metallic undertones, creating a striking and modern effect. This technique of using unusual materials in art is an innovative way to push the boundaries of creativity.

How to make an abstract painting with acrylic paint? different techniques easy
CHAPTERS OF THE VIDEO
00:00 Picture of the final Artwork
00:33 Canvas 18" x 15" inches
00:40 Matte medium to glue the aluminium foil on the canvas and create the structure
03:00 Let it dry
03:16 Start painting with ivory black, and . . .
05:25 Spray water, dry and remove some paint with paper and allow to dry completely
06:35 Keep painting with primary blue and white
07:30 Remove some paint with water
08:03 Apply with brush cadmium yellow deep hue
09:55 Go ahead with the titanium white and dry with paper
11:57 Allow to dry before continuing
12:03 Keep painting now with emerald green and turquoise
12:53 Start to paint your landscape with a sponge
14:10 Keep painting with cadmium yellow deep hue
15:35 Covering the dark parts of the canvas with the titanium white and remove with water
16:19 More black ivory with the sponge
18:48 Final Artwork ready to hang

While creating this pc, being a complete novice, I saw so many directions this pc could of gone and with each brush stroke, dabbing here and there, I watched it change into so many thing…..at one point I could see a tree amongst the forrest with a pond in front……but I guess this is truly abstract….thank you

I just discovered your channel and really want to thank you. I'm a beginner in painting and was stressing so hard over trying to paint perfect photorealistic paintings, which are obviously not possible to achieve by a beginner - and that led me to throw unfinished paintings into the corner of the room not to be touched again. Your art opened my eyes to painting an idea, a feel, an emotion of something and not the exact, photorealistic thing. It’s amazing how we can have these epiphanies from watching others do what obviously comes so natural to them while we seem to have to pull n stress over the smallest things. I have learned to stop the fear that held me back. To remember that it’s just canvas n paint. I was so fearful of messing up the painting that I was mentally paralyzed to making progress in my artwork. Now my work shows a tremendous amount of improvement . Just by letting go of fear. Now if I could just loosen up. My work is still so tight n I struggle like crazy to loosen it up. It all looks contrived n perfectly even. I’m confident tho that some artist,some comment,some painting will occur that will “loose” my hand forever n I will open up a new world to my own self that I may finally spread my wings n fly instead of standing under the trees. I’m watching n waiting. Thanks to ALL these fine teachers for posting. U know not what u do for ppl.

You used foil to express the natural roughness of the surface.
It also feels like a mysterious forest.
As you apply multiple layers of paint using a sponge, your artwork becomes more and more special and attractive. 👍👍
