- A couple of months ago I made a custom of Nightmare Moon, a My Little Pony G4 character, in G1 style. A few people commented on what they would like to see next, and that was: Princess Celestia! So here it is, my second G4 OC pony. I can luckily say that I learned a few things from NM I was able to use here, and as usual, I made some new mistakes :D I'm also trying something new in terms of sound/music. This is what I listen to when I want to focus or relax: A mix of rain sound and lofi music. Please let me know if you think it's completely bananas xD

Always thought Celestia's aurora-themed hair was very cool. I'm glad you got a chance to indulge your preference for very long manes and tails! It's show-accurate, after all. :D

I have a pair of G3 “princess ponies” simply because they have super long hair.
@@theGhostWolfe but its a nightmare to maintain. I have a large G1 or G2 purple pony and her hair is endless. It has seen better days, I'll tell you that. 😶

The poofy curls was definitely the right choice, a very fitting translation from g4 to g1! The overall rounder, kinder silhouette makes her look like a younger, more innocent Celestia, like she really is the young ruler of a mostly carefree kingdom. Now it's been a while since I watched g1 but I don't recall there to be a lot of world threatening crisis-es? There was the penguin who wanted to freeze over the world, Tirac and Scorpan? Anyhow, absolutely gorgeous custom! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜💖
oh so interesting! My memories from 30 years ago are full of catastrophes, with a heavy bagage of "moral of the story"
- One pony didn't notice a "wishing coin" stuck to her hoof, so when she complained about the rain ruining her picnic, the ponyworld was turned into a desert (lesson : stop complaining, I guess)
- a witch and her daughters didn't like the ponies' singing or something, so they made a volcanic eruption of sentient slime (lesson : be considerate, maybe?)
- there was a sort of demon donkey, I think, who kidnapped ponies and put them in a mirror/gemstone... and the group was getting picked off one by one, so stressful (lesson : girl-ponies have to acommodate boy-donkeys, or whatever)
- didn't the flutter ponies live in a separate valley and one year they refused to bring the season of spring over...?
You're right about the custom : this G1-Celestia looks adorable, and the Farah Fawcett poofy curls are so fantastically 1970's!
@@meinhartfrancois oh yeah there were a lot of shenanigans going on xD that demon donkey was very ominous, but from the sound of it I think the message might be to not wander off alone else face the risk of dangerous strangers? But who knows, I would have to rewatch it to give a proper moral analysis of that.
@@Coffee_nightowl That does make sense... although IIRC he had a grudge specificially against the ponies...
At any rate, the moral of all those episodes always felt so heavy handed to me that it seemed to put blame on the ponies, you know? Let others know where you're going vs. you wouldn't be trapped if you hadn't wandered off
Thank you 😊😊 I haven't watched the original cartoon in... Well, enough time that I barely remember any stories! We didn't have them back where I grew up so it was "ponies for the sake of ponies". The smooze, though, reminded me of the Nothingness from Neverending story!

So excited you took this project on! I recently found a G1 majesty pony at a thrift store and was inspired by you to take her home and try to restore her (she's still wip, i need to build a uv box!). I felt like the colors would be nice to do a celestia custom but i knew i didn't have the skills to pull it off so I'm so happy to get to live vicariously through your video!

I think the new music trial works well too, but can't help but wonder how well sea/wave sounds would work. As someone growing up in a island nation, I've noticed many people find it more relaxing than rain due to how it's always steady and there no matter what haha.

My sleep mix is half ocean waves and half wind noise. I like it even though I imagine it might sound 'cold' to some!

I did miss Retro's voice, though, and some of the fun details you usually mention, Retro : for instance, the pegasus pony is ready to lift off... does this dynamic pose have a name? Oh, maybe you mentioned it in the subtitles -- I didn't think to check!

I love the lofi music more than the voice over personally but I respect what others think. It's very relaxing to watch with music and rain sounds.
Thank you for your feedback 😊😊 I find the combo very relaxing myself so I thought I would try. I plan on doing different types of videos, adding a note in the beginning saying whether it has commentary or not. That way people can skip the ones they don't find relaxing 😊
