  • Installing a Cannonball Seat on your Can-Am Spyder F3? This video shows the complete install of a Cannonball seat for both the rider and passenger on a Can-Am Spyder F3.
    I wanted to create a video that covers some little talked about items on CZcams. When purchasing a seat, I tried to look at videos online that talked about a custom seat. I did not find that many. Because of this I wanted to create to videos for you that will first talk about the seat removal and installation. I will create a future video covering more of the reasons for why I bought the Cannonball seat in particular, review what I think about it as well.

    5:08 Comparing factory seat to Cannonball seat
    6:10 Passenger seat install
    7:16 Passenger seat removal
    This video will cover two little items that are rarely talked about as well. The first thing is a button underneath the passenger seat that communicates with the computer. This button, when pressed, lets the computer know that someone or something is on the bike. When the button is pressed it causes the bike to slow down and become safer so that you do not throw off a rider or items you are carrying on the bike.
    The other item is an Accessory Circuit or Auxiliary Port. This can be used as a connection for aftermarket accessories. I do not talk about the colors of the wires, because I do not know if the company changes colors for overseas products and I do not want to give someone false information. What I do know for sure is that one is a positive lead and the other a negative lead. These wires are the best point for connecting anything to the bike. To my knowledge there are 3 locations total, one in the frunk, one under the left panel, and the one I show in the back.

      You will really like it on long trips. My seat never made a rattling noise but it is loose feeling. Makes sense though that its loose for the nanny.

      Thank you very much and this comment made my day! Not many people know about that safety feature or the easy access to an accessory circuit in the back. 🤙🤙

      @@MOABMAN As some one that loves to ride and loves the Can-Am brand I am just glad to find find others with the same passion who are also skilled enough to document it along the way. Its not often you find a teacher that can keep a persons interest with ease (not suggesting making these videos are easy in any way) please keep up the good work I hope to see that bell icon lit up often!

      @@ak_downrange_threat7251 Moabman is the best teacher out there! I don't even have my Can-Am (yet but coming in a month!) and I watch and support the channel. Very down to earth, straight-forward explanations and topics of importance that folks are looking for - even the ones you don't know you're looking for! 😁

    Great video! Do you know if the CanAM passenger and driver back rests will work with this seat?

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  Před 3 lety

      Yes they both will. In the video I have the BRP OEM backrest for the passenger on to show how it looks. I also have the driver backrest but dont really use it much. It also fits very well. The only thing I recommend is wrapping the metal bar for the driver in something so it doesn't rub and rip into the seat fabric. Mine has one or 2 sharp edges that rub the seat when it is on. Other than that they both work very well. Thanks for the support and comments!

      @@MOABMAN Thanks so much! I'm debating on whether to buy the cannonball seat or not. I have been getting hip pain withe the stock seat.

      @@bulldog4791 The seat helped me, but im not able to guarantee it would help with hip pain. It has better padding and support than the original, the biggest change is for passenger. The seat from Slingmods was REALLY padded and I have sat on it personally. It may be a better choice if your having pain. The difference from the original seat to the Cannonball is noticeable. Also check on GEL padding that can be added as a seat cover. I looked on Amazon for "motorcycle seat gel pad" when I was looking for me and found a lot of varieties. Again just trying to help but can't say this would prevent it.

    Just installed rear seat . Would I still have a little gap in rear. But when you sit on seat no gap

    • @MOABMAN
      @MOABMAN  Před rokem +1

      On the Cannonball Seat there is a gap between the driver and passenger seat. When the passenger sits on the seat this does cause the distance between the seats to close together. You are able to still have a backrest for the driver though if you install one.
      If you are referring to the gap that the seat has to "lock" into place (between the cushion to the actual bike) then that does not matter to much as long as the pin goes into the locking mechanism and holds. You are able to adjust this pins depth and everyone's will be different in length. Mine felt weird at first till I got use to it. When I put the seat on and lock it, I give it several hard tugs to ensure it is locked into place. It is a good idea to always do this after removing and installing the seat. You most likely will have to adjust the pin a little too. It is a bummer that Can-am has the pin on only one side because it does feel like the seat is loose and going g to come off. I have had my seat for over 3 years and it never came off unless I made it do so by unlocking it.
      Hope this is what you were asking about and it helped.
