  • Here's a short video excerpt from my 40-hour Private Pilot eCourse on Dihedral. This is a topic that's often hard to grasp from a textbook. Seeing the principles in action on a video screen makes it easier to comprehend the subject. If you'd like to learn more about my eCourses, books, and audiobooks, please visit: www.rodmachado.com.

One of the best and knowledgeable aviation educators. Thanks for the visual explanation, and is there really a group of people think dihedral helps coordinate turn? Never heard of that

    Outstanding sir. Thank you!

  • @AwestrikeFearofGods

Another benefit of dihedral is that it inclines the bottom surface of the wing fuel tanks, for more effective sumping of fuel contaminants and water (while parked on level ground). This is probably why high-wing designs bother to include a small degree of dihedral.

    It’s FS2000 all over again!

  • @BlaineNay

Now, explain negative dihedral (eg, C141).

Is there a course or book of yours you recommend for a training CFI?
