One of the best Maze solos from both Trey and Page. Happy I saw them from '94-2000. Also, the unsung hero of the band: Paul Languedoc. After seeing 100+ shows, I never saw Trey break a string, switch guitars on stage or even tune his guitar! Unreal craftsmanship. Wish I could get one.
@@SOAMLE I love that song but that is the song that Joe Biden chose to play. The reason is because of the Jesuit mantra and the Catholic belief about works for salvation. They don’t believe that Jesus died for your sins and that you were saved because of that. They believed you need to put in work for the Catholic Church like the mafia that it is to get your payoff. That’s why they chose that song because it held that theme. You only get what you give. Which is logical but in a spiritual sense the meaning is demeaning
Last time I saw them was fall of 16' and MAZE was my favorite moment of the entire night!! LOVE!! Hopefully they come back this year! Either gonna see them at Gorge, Dicks or NYE!! And man, this one was fire!! 🙌🙌🎇✨
This is so good. It kind of makes me sad since there is no chance of Trey ever coming close to this again. I'm so glad I was able to see some shows in the mid to late 90s.
When I first started listening to phish in 1998 maze was my favorite song cause I couldn’t figure out how he was doing that on the guitar. The four night run at the garden that just happened this year in 2022 were my first shows ever. The second night they played a very intense maze which I was very impressed by because I didn’t know they had that intensity anymore. Give a listen maze aficionados and let me know what you think.
They should start titling these videos the same way they title the political news and commentary videos: "Trey and Page ABSOLUTELY SHRED on Maze; crowd is left SPEECHLESS"
I hope they play Maze, YEM, Fee, Foam, Esther****, Dinner and a Movie, 46 Days, Walls of the Cave, Punch you in the Eye, or Wilson at the concert I'll go to. It made me have $9.18 in my account. :)
I stopped supporting them Lemon Wheel. They went from 25 a ticket to you can stick it. They still can. I LOVE Phish don't get me wrong, but I love them pre money. Just like everything else in the world.
Man I hate to be this guy cause I love Phish, but I caught a couple shows in '97 and Trey was just shredding smh. I remember saying to my friend, "what a show off, he's fucking lovin it." Guitar heroics like THIS ☝️we will just never get from Trey ever again. I've found comfort in Cactus and Fish in my later Phish listening lifetime lol.🤯💯🎶✌

I want a Languedoc sooo bad
20 years ago today... I was there with my buddy Mike Bardo. What a fucking show.
Late 90s Phish takes me back to my high school days everytime
After I heard this it changed my life forever .... destination Summer Tour 1998! Junior year of high school 🤩✌️
This is the song / version the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse will ride out to.
Actually, it’s get what you give by the new radicals. Check it out when you have the time. Welcome to the New World order.
MrDuffy81 oh man I’m a HUGE new rads fan. That entire album is a masterpiece start to finish.

Maze is my all time favorite Phish song and this by far is the best version in my mind. Thank you for posting this.
Me too buddy, I am psyched to hear this version, going on your recommendation.
6/22/94
IMO the best maze was from Vegas 2000. But this was also great.
I was at this show. Mind melter
Hands down the best Maze in my book.
My second Phish show, my favorite Maze.
so nostalgic....brings me back to HS
Dec 97, Most intense Phish month ever, hands down.
Omg I did the whole tour starting in Vegas all the way. Epic
You know it’s serious when Mike stops to roll up the sleeves lol
Trey earns his shine. He brought everyone back from nonsense multiple times
First indoor show! What a ripper!!
This!

Haydays here.
There's no chance we'll ever hear a Maze like this again. But nothing I see can be taken from me.
Big fan of 97
This did not age well. They are still ripping!!
@@justjerry9078 said every phish fan ever :D
Recorded on My first birthday
This was seven days after my birth! Fun fact, haha. Amazing stuff here. Phish still rock like they used to.
I was here !
You are incredibly lucky.
Same. Phish destroyed Rochester that night.
You've lost it, you'll never get out of this maze
Still amazes me no whammy bars were harmed in the making of this film.

I was there too. Absolute banger!
See there's that fuckin guitar!! He still uses his like second Koa guitar after all these years and so many guitars
Must say ive never heard that version until todat but it fuckin rips!!!! Soo good ⭐⭐⭐⭐.9
9:57 getting into.launch pad position ✌🎸🐾
you know the sauce is coming when Trey taps his brain and does a quick fist jam at 1:26. I haven’t found a Maze I like better . . . yet
This is genius...Frank Zappa would love it...
At least Fzappa20 would
What video is this from? I've been looking for a live recording of the DWD from this night but can't find it anywhere...
Phayish92 pretty sure this was an extra on the bittersweet video.
Why don’t they release more of this? Someone’s gotta have it
@@V8trickshot todd philips, the director, probably has the footage somewhere
@@V8trickshot Because Todd Philips was more interested in taking the piss out of Trey than honoring Phish as a whole.
Download the app Relisten or PhishOD. If you are not on a phone Phish.in
That prague show was a shredder too
Same show that has the greatest DWD ever
It was freezing outside that night, but inside the War Memorial was on 🔥
Greatest Limb too
This happened 7 days after I was born :0
