    Living outside the box is where the juice is; constantly pushing the walls of the box outward gives us a richer, fuller life, one that enables us to more fully express our potential. Great topic, and awesome job presenting, especially as Agata said below, what a tough frikin audience. They're the ones who really need to get out of their box. xo

    Lot of instruments come or evolve from others, the spanish cajón came from the Perú one but changed, the spanish one has four strings inside the box while the ones from Peru or Bolivia doesnt. Its like the Hawaian Ukelele it cames from the Portugués Cavaquinho but the hawaians changed it a bit. And so that happens not just with instruments but with lot of things, some people see something they like then take it and transform it to another level , it doesnt have to evolve for better always just they made different things from one to another and then you can choose the one you like it more.

    She does a great job keeping the "breaking the box" concept all the way through the presentation. And it makes sense.
    Too bad she is working the mic so close...it has a lot of proximity effect which causes too much bass and almost some feedback in spots. Heard to hear in spots.

  • @agatamikoajczyk3139
    @agatamikoajczyk3139 Před 7 lety +24

    What a tough audience.... Breaking the box not easy also in this case... :)

    • @bubbanderson
      @bubbanderson Před 7 lety +7

      I don't think they were a tough audience.... just being reserved and thoughtful about an instrument 90% of them had never seen or heard before. Plus they looked old so had maybe come along for another speaker. You can't not like Heidi and maybe she was too much for them. Bit of a force of nature. She also crammed a lot of info into that session.
      I bought a Cajon last year, watched her videos and two weeks later did a gig with it. She certainly inspired me.
      What she didn't mention is that you can get beginners models for about 60 Euros which means anyone can have a go. So like the humble ukulele ideal for schools.
      Our gig was at a friend's garden party in a local village and she asked me to put a band together to play a 20 minute set. We did 2.5 hours and you could hear the unamplified Cajon 3 streets away !
      These are cool instruments and you can do a lot with them.

    In every open scenes of every pub in every little town in the world, you will listen to the same nice ' musicians '.
    She is a least a very beginner in petcussion and she madd a method.....
    The result of a génération who always heard everything they did was genius.
    It s sad people are no more able to understand what is a real musician.

      @ezkibela Před 2 lety

      Peru cajón is diferent from the spanish one , the perú and bolivian cajones dont have strings inside, the spanish cajón have four strings inside that make the sound diferent , so at the end they are diferent . Is like the ukelele that came from the portugués Cavaquinho , the hawaians took that portugués instrument and made it a bit diferent but it came from there just like the spanish cajón came from the Perú one.
