  • Just a vlog but a good opportunity to put a Tesla Model 3 Performance to the test - this is the 2023-current (at time of writing , May 2023!) version with 79kwh battery.
Earlier versions from c. 2021 had 82kwh battery packs and prior to that, 75kwh packs.
So how does this latest version compare for efficiency, real-world range and charging speed/time?
I actually think it charges slightly slower than the earlier 75kwh packs but then it is slightly bigger, and still VERY fast!
There is another video to follow on soon with a 2019/2020 M3P to compare it too... should be the next one out.
    Hope its useful!

Had my 2021 M3 SR + for a year now, i have used the car mostly for commuting about 50 motorway miles a day. I have done a few longer drives and in the last week travelled from Swansea to Isle of Man via Bristol, Tamworth and Liverpool car was brilliant, i had one charge on way up whilst having lunch in services. Charging was the same on the return journey got home with plenty of charge. I have gone from being quite anxious about long journeys to actually looking forward to them. Just wish there were more Tesla chargers in rural mid Wales

Great video as usual, keep up the good work. It is great seeing you go on journeys and seeing how the cars perform in the real world rather than just drive around the corner talking about them.

Wife recently took the 2022 LFP model 3 RWD from South Wales to a meeting in North Wales, staying at the Hilton in Snowdonia.

I have a July 2022 Rear wheel drive - did a round trip of 227 miles, still had 31 miles left of range. Mostly motorway too. Excellent efficiency.

Kudos to Richard for expressing what EVs offer the motoring public in this fashion :

very useful indeed. It really works this easy in real life. And my figures with the MY LR are not that far off!

Hi Richard. Was just rewatching this video again after picking up this exact car to go with our 2022 Long Range. Was sad to cancel the Highland order but to get a TM3P with the current used prices, happy to live with the older foibles!

A little bit of planning, a little bit of experience and off you go! Great video (as usual 😊)

Had my model 3 long range with acceleration boost for 18 months now and the last few updates on range are spot on for predicted sat nav expected range without aero covers I have 302 miles at 89% which real-world will be 280 miles even without charging to 100%. Super impressed and no faults at all in the time I've have it but probably at least one new software update every month, sometimes with significant new features on the Infotainment system. Just need my matrix LEDs now activating please if Tesla read this stuff👍

I agree about the trip graph as an excellent tool for road trips. One of the most underrated features of Tesla's software.

At 2.18 "our warehouse in New Milton". You put yourself down Richard, surely that should be "our showrooms". Glad to see the referral miles are still holding out.
