    Your little tree has nice 3 to 4 side branches. You must have pruned if not hacked the young sapling in half to promote these lively 3 to 4 side branches.
    Can you please make a video on how and when to prune if not hack a young Avocado sapling, plant or tree. I have noticed that most people fear such a heartless pruning job, but in the long run, which is only a few months away, the sapling, plant or tree take a better shape and grows much better, rather than just growing straight up.
    Nice Video buddy. Regards from San Jose, California.

    • @tukuze_matunda
      @tukuze_matunda  Před rokem

      Not sure but I would not recommend unless you give them ample spacing

  • @HorticulturistWillyMartin

    Hey, doing a good job. I may be wrong and stand corrected but I think:
    1. 350 gms of fertilizer is way too much for a seedling per.
    2. Top dressing should be spread in different splits per year not one "huge" split.

    • @johnjester254
      @johnjester254 Před rokem

      How many grams in one application?

    • @HorticulturistWillyMartin
      @HorticulturistWillyMartin Před rokem +1

      @@johnjester254 • Year 1: 50 to 100g Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) per tree per year.
      • Year 2: 200 to 200g CAN per tree, per year.
      Year 3: 150 to 300g CAN per tree, per year.
      In subsequent years, apply 200 to 400g CAN per tree, per year depending on the crop potential.
      Apply rates in two to four splits to avoid losses due to leaching or scorching of roots

    Hi, just watched the video. I am an avocado farmer in Uganda. I have seen you adding fertiliser, Yara Milla in particular, but we were told the export market does not recommend use of such fertiliser other than organic. Please advise

  • @radinhs_belajarmenanam09

    Hey, which type of hass tree is recommended since I noted it has various varieties. Also, I had dug holes for planting so I should ensure its filled then raised how many inches/foots? Thanks

    • @tukuze_matunda
      @tukuze_matunda  Před rokem

      Sorry Wanjau, took too long to reply. I think you need to do a market study on the acceptable variety. There is Pinkerton, giant and golden all Cultivars of Hass. You will be advised from then which ones is fetching better prices. FYI Pinkerton is small in size and only a few exporters prefer it. For the beds at least 1.5ft up will do.

    • @stevenkabaga3971
      @stevenkabaga3971 Před rokem

      the preferred one for export is the golden has, source from reputable sources for seedlings to avoid planting the wrong ones, eg like kakuzi
