This scene is so good because up until this point Wrench & Numbers hadn't appeared in the episode, so when i watched it for the first time i wondered who drove into Malvo, then boom Wrench & Numbers appeared and it was the first time you see Malvo not in control of situation. Such a good scene.
What's so iconic about this scene is that this is probably the first time ever in Malvo's life he's not the predator, but the prey, and he still manages to get out of the situation
“Manages to get out of it” thanks to his plot armor. If you’re sitting in a car that gets shot up that much with a machine gun and another gun from different angles, you’re dead.
Seeing how sloppy they tried to kill Malvo, I'm not surprised. They are sloppy with firearms, maybe stabbing and intimitation is more their way of work
It’s just basic filmmaking, I know, but DAMN do I love the Wrench and Numbers theme briefly kicking in as Malvo’s caught off-guard by the ambush before that eerie score overpowers it as he regains control of the situation.
