Folks, we are located in Oakland, CA.
Howdy Folks, all the basic tools we use and recommend on Amazon's website.

So, you want to hang and color Styrofoam trim your windows?
Measure the wall where the stucco foam molding is going to be installed.
Mark the measurements on the length of the foam molding with a sharpie.
Clean around the window where the mold is to be attached as nothing adheres to a dusty surface, not even Poly-Bond, which is an adhesive cementitious cement that holds the foam onto the walls.
Cut the stucco molding to size with a cement cutting miter saw blade, or the fiberglass netting will shred. Do not use a wood-cutting blade!
For corners, adjust the miter saw to cut the depth of the first side at a 45-degree angle. Set the saw to the opposite 45-degree angle to cut the other side of the corner.
Set the stucco foam molding in place with the help of a partner. The molding is not heavy, but the molding's length may require two people to keep it in place while it is installed. Now apply La Habra’s Poly Bond, which is specifically engineered to hold the styrofoam in place.
Apply the poly bond on the rear in an S shape.
Some say not to set using nails but instead use tape.
I say this is ridiculous. I've had many stucco contractors, even my friends who are stucco contractors, call me and say, "My styrofoam fell from a building."
I say, "foolish." you should have used 16 penny nails to attach them while the poly bond set, the nails, sink into the wood substrate; no matter how high, they can't be blown off or loosened.
I've actually heard, "Won't the nails puncture the two layers of paper? As if the 10,000 on average nails or staples used to attach the lath don't already puncture the paper.
Hello, it's a self-healing two-ply paper, a 60-minute paper. If this were true, every house in the world that is stucco would be leaking.
Here is a word about the exterior insulation finish system or EIFS and stucco molds.
If you're searching for these online, type in "Decorative exterior foam trim."
Stucco leaks and water intrusion can be caused by a removed or a missing nail.
Prevent your stucco walls from leaking by pounding the nails in or removing and caulking the holes before applying stucco.
Hello all, in this video, we’re explaining dos and fonts when considering punching stucco Styrofoam.
Such as buying them precoated and using a saw with a masonry blade to cut them.
How to attach them and why.
A few other tips include applying an acrylic color finish over the newly installed foam molds and walls.
My stories are past facts from my career as a lifelong plastering contractor.
99% are positive. However, in this video, I tell of a past job encounter.
I’m directing that story to all the newly licensed plastering contractors who are eager to earn a legal living and that sometimes you have to use your judgment to “decline” certain people.
This I say as I’m talking to a newly licensed man who says, “The fella who hired him or owner won’t pay.” Upon completion of his work, he googled the men who hired him and found multiple judgments against him for this very reason.
Things and people that make you go, hmmm.
See how we lathed this area in this video: • Repair Leaking stucco ...
Stucco patching around windows or holes in your stucco walls, • Stucco walls with lime...

i have the answer for your mate who had that problem on the 5 story building where his moulding came off in a storm (9 minute mark in video)...you dont need scaffolding. In these situations, the best solution is to get a professional rope access tradesman in to complete the task. I have done plenty of rendering off ropes...its difficult work and takes a lot of practise, but a rope guy who knows what he is doing would easily be able to re-apply those foam mouldings in just a few hours for probably a couple of grand!
All in all however, this is a great video Kirt, i love the way you teach and I continue to learn new things from you every video. Thanks for your knowledge and experience.

Evening Adam, thank you, my friend. I have worked off an 18 story building hanging from ropes connected to a long plank. I should have died for doing such an incredibly foolish thing for money. Many years back, when I didn't know fear.
      Personally, I’m a plasterer, not a stuntman,
You, my friend, are the big kahuna with bigger kahonas, than my friend or me, as I consider this idea, suicide that's earned.
Most would not have noticed or cared I was working on a slanted roof that was foolish enough but to hang 5 stories with tool belt pouches, with even the world's safest harness, I say it can't be done.😉🍻

Hi Jacob, that depends on how the molds were attached. You can saws-all them off, and reinstall afterwards. Or simply destroy them and buy new ones at a plastering material yard.
We got beat up a couple years back when we said we'd remove all the molds as the folks didn't like them. They had stucco metal wire netting, we couldn't even remove the finish with new blades. I had to leave them on and go around them. There are many ways to skin a cat and one has to improvise. 🕵🏼

I used a masonry blade on first install bcuz it's just common sense with coated masonry surface
Really messed up my saw though with the dust.... dont recommend using your saw for carpentry to do this......
It is fairly simple to do and forgiving though.....

Steel can rust also, A galvanized nail can rust, if you hit the head with a hammer, why? the hammer knocks off or underlines the galvanization.🤔

Good evening Gypsy Dude. thank you. I have been working on this man's home for well over 30 years, Or this video would not have been made as installing styrofoam is too tedious for us.
But for such a nice guy, we made an exception. 😉

@@StuccoPlastering I install styrofoam moldings/trim as an eifs installer. I install 16" tall and 8" wide coated crown moldings in commercial jobs. I don't know why you chose to use wet mix for attaching mouldings. In residential jobs, only time I use a nail or screw is for the sill moldings until they set. And I never leave them in, too risky since eps foam does suck up moisture and water. Once the sill is set you don't need anything for the sides or top. All you need is good cuts and good mix.

Evening Mike, I do that while working, I can talk and watch at the same time.
Of course, if I were on a warm beach where women were walking around wearing something close to nothing, I would be too distracted to work.
Now drinking watching with a bit of playing suits me just fine.🍻
