This interview was right before my favorite Church album came out, "Priest=Aura", which was also my introduction to the band! They were definitely a very mystical band on that one! 🙂

i was looking for a P=A interview, i cannot find one. it has to be my favorite album of theirs, its so consistent and full. every single song on that album is perfect.
what are your thoughts on the hypnogogue duo album?

@@mini_mozzer I do like "The Hypnogogue" and "Eros Zeta and the Perfumed Guitars" albums (actually I like Eros Zeta a little more), but I don't consider them Church albums, I consider them Steve Kilbey side project albums. I could still consider it The Church while Peter was still on board, as he and Steve were the founding members of the band (Marty did come in later, but still in time for their first album), but with Peter and Marty both gone now, it's just not The Church. With Jeffrey Caine on board, it's more like a continuation of Isidore, with additional band members. The music is still great, though. But I really miss the guitar interplay between Marty and Peter. I'm still glad I got to see them live in 2009, when it was still Steve, Peter, and Marty and got all of them to sign my poster!

I dunno about drugs, but Steve seems very shy in these early interviews. Nothing like what he is today. As for best GAF - Grind is my fave.

+Keeran Lafferty This isn't really an "early" interview. Steve had already started his 12 year long love affair with heroin.

Very interesting and good looking and good words and a good real Church B-Sides album with some songs better than the GAF average. Best GAF: Grind - Metropolis - Essence

I like this steve , seems humble, meek spirit...todays steve is too mouthy plus senior citizens shouldn't 'skinny jeans' ( thats 'trying-too-hard')
