Getting a signed bat from Mike Trout at Globe Life Park!

- It finally happened! One year after Mike Trout promised to give me a bat, I finally caught up with him and got it. Here's how it all went down.
This day at Globe Life Park wasn't all about the bat, though. I snagged seven baseballs during batting practice, checked out the construction on the new stadium across the street, and had lots of other adventures.

I remember meeting Mike Trout when he was playing for the Cedar Rapids Kernals in low-A. I had very little idea of just how great of a player he was going to become. The Beloit Snappers have a cool setup at their park where the players have to walk through the concourse to get to their clubhouses so there is a lot of chance for fan and player interaction. I remember he gave a little kid one of his bats after the game and he stopped and signed a ball for me and we talked for a few minutes. At the time I think I was maybe 11 or 12 so it was a very cool moment for me to be able to talk to a player. It’s cool to see that all these years later he is still an awesome and down-to-earth guy!

And this is exactly why people should find something that makes them happy. Seeing you with nothing but pure joy should be anyone’s goal. It doesn’t have to be baseballs/baseball-related. Just find what makes you happy and support those that are finding their happiness.

It's awesome that you finally got it. Now I can share without feeling like I'm rubbing it in. At the start of last year my brother was Mike's UBER driver and then spent the season trying to connect at the stadium to get a promised ball, at the end of the year, we all thought he wasn't going to get it (we were all watching from across the field) and after a long delay he held up a broken bat from that days game. It took so long after the players were gone because Mike had sent it over to be autheniacated. What a great guy.

Crazy to think how laid back and down to earth and humble the best player in baseball and future greatest of all time is. To bad he plays in LA and us in the east coast don't get to see him that often bc you know you are watching greatness. He will be talked about for generations and it's great to be able to say I seen him play..just like MJ, tiger, Federer, Serena

The fans swapped hats, one was rangers and the other was angels. Most people follow a team so he’s frustrated that their trading hats of division rivals, most diehard fans don’t like other teams in their division like Giraffe neck mark who loves the Mets and hates Braves, Phillies and nationals. I think it’s an overreaction. They’ll clearly just collecting hats.

One of my favorite things about you is that you aren’t an autograph seller. Whenever I go to minor league games and see adults getting top prospects autographs, they always talk about how much money they’ll make from it, which makes me sad, because there’s kids that like collecting the autographs for fun (like myself) that I think deserve the ball more. Congrats on the bat, Zack!
I’m 14 and I’ve been collecting Rangers autographs since I was 12 and have not sold a single one. The ones I have that I have 2 of I give to my dad. Globe Life Park was so chill and I hope to ask Mike Trout for an autograph if I go to a Rangers game vs the Angels.
