He was the most powerful and largest empire in Indian history. mahindra thero and the Buddhist delegation came to Sri Lanka. At that time Sri Lanka was ruled by a king named Thissa. The past kings of Lanka went hunting for fun. These Thissa kings went deer hunting in the Mihinthalaya area. mahindra Thero and others came to know this. They came to the rock to meet the king. Monk Mahindra stood on the rock and spoke to King Tissa by his name(thissa .. thissa..). The king was upset When he looked up, he saw monk Mahindra. Then monk Mahendra said that he was the son of the great emperor Ashoka. Then monk Mahendra taught the buddhism to the king. The king embraced Buddhism and spread Buddhism all over Lanka. (Though Buddhism came to Sri Lanka from India, but today's India is not a Buddhist country. But India was Buddhist in the past. Buddhism spread all over India in the past, but it was destroyed. Buddhist temples were destroyed, Buddhist monks were killed, and Buddhist scriptures were destroyed. The collapse of Buddhism in India is a long story.)
