    Very nice. I just bought a truck that someone cut all the cats off of. Been trying to rig it up with what the autoparts store closest to me had to offer. Going to try again tomorrow as everything I have tried has pretty much been a FAIL 😂

    This was one of the MOST helpful videos I've seen on "how to" repair exhaust. Thinking outside the box. Very well done. Excellent editing job of video. Keep them coming, and stay safe. God bless. Oh, and, were you recommending use of J-B Weld Exhaust System Sealant (4:57) - audio was light there.

    Use zip ties to keep the handles of your cutter closed.. and as you get deeper in the cut.. pull the zip tie tighter.. you can let go.. relax.. and just work the tool back and fourth

    1:08 My exhaust disconnected in the same exact spot... It was crazy LOUD and I could smell the exhaust fumes in the car while driving... SMDH
    I was going to get it welded - then I thought about it for a minute and went searching for something to hold the two pieces together. I came up with this
    "Nickson 2in to 2 1/4in Laminated Split Flange"
    I've seen a pic of the job done with just one but I bought two to be on the safe side and some Permatex sealer... (A Few Hours Later)
    Job is done and the exhaust is SILENT not a peep (I'll do a soapy water test on a warm day) I used some (Blue) thread lock on the bolts as well... Peace

    Should an adapter have cut lines? I was just thinking if the clamps will hold. I mean adapter should squeeze when you tighten the clamps.

    • @IshMotorparts
      @IshMotorparts  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes the Clamp it will squeeze tight no need to cut line just make sure clean the rusty one very good

    • @alb12345672
      @alb12345672 Před 2 lety

      @@IshMotorparts You have to find stainless steel exhaust parts. They are probably hard to find and much more expensive. The autozone stuff is made from Aluminized steel. It has some minimal rust protection vs pure steel. I say if you need exhaust work (e.g. you are not in Arizona) that stuff is temporary. I did do a quick search and advance auto seems to stock some SS parts.

    THE REPAIR THAT WAS DONE WITHOUT WELDING IS OK; BUT?,,, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY, IT TAKES A LOT OF COURAGE TO SHOW THAT HORRIBLE WELDING.
    WITH ALL MY RESPECT, FOR PEOPLE WHO DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WELDING IS OKAY,,,, BUT?,,,, IN MY CASE?,,,,, I WOULD NEVER SHOW SUCH UNCOOKED-WELDING BEANS.
    IF FOR ANY REASON I AM WRONG, I HUMBLY APOLOGIZE.

    • @IshMotorparts
      @IshMotorparts  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry for replying late.
      As you see in video I used a adapter on one side of the flex pipe so from the Cat or the engine the Size is 2-1/8" I and on the other side 2" inches so basically I used 2-1/8" and 2" Clamps on the project

    • @IshMotorparts
      @IshMotorparts  Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheHmurveit you shouldn't need one because the flexpipe you use it as a female on both end the only reason I used one because who ever worked on the pipe before me they used a bigger pipe so I use a bigger female between the flexpipe and man pipe from the engine. So check and see if is the same size pipe on both side of yours, Hope that helps
