There are innumerable differences between humans and other beings, but it narrows down to one principle distinction. The humanly ability to discriminate. A lion can certainly tell a hunter from a prey; this discrimination is a primal urge that aids in survival. However, the boon of discriminating between the temporal world and the ever-present unchanging Truth, the Supreme, is exclusive to humans. A basic understanding of this, or even questioning the existence of this statement, is oftentimes the stepping stone to one's spiritual seeking.
Sri Adi Shankaracharya's Vivekachoodamani translated as 'the crest-jewel of discrimination' is an important introductory text that acquaints a seeker with the joys of Vedanta. It walks one through the importance and the process of subtler discrimination, that must lead to dispassion towards worldly objects of desire.
Chinmaya International Foundation and Chinmaya Mission Mattancherry present online discourses on Vivekachoodamani, with Br. Ved Chaitanya.
Br. Ved Chaitanya comes from a family steeped in the Chinmaya Mission. An electronics and telecommunication engineer from Pune, he withdrew from work in TCS to follow his heart. He received Brahmacharya Diksha in 2013. An impactful orator, cheerful, kind-hearted, and a scholarly student of Sanskrit and Vedanta, his particular interest lie in the application of Vedanta in daily life.

    Hari Om!
    Beautifully explained Ved ji 🙏🙏
Just like the joy of experiencing a continuous thin flow of water from a Tap, like a weak river flow gains momentum in its journey negotiating it's Path through the boulders and vignaha.. It's complete dedication to reach the Ocean through one pointed concentration.. So too, while performing one's karma's, duties in this World .. Using the body, mind, intellect to discriminate between Self and Not-Self and associating with the Higher Supreme.. One lives ever in Nirvikalpa Samadhi...just like the River when finds itself to become the Ocean, finds Complete Blissfulness and Joy!! Withdrawal of the Senses, just like the Tortoise withdraws it's Limbs from External stimuli and protects itself, so too One should find Happiness in self withdrawal from external Sense-enjoyment and replacing this in the Foundation of Aham Brahma Asmi.. Just like a Snake finds its way out from the dead skin covering it and sheds/discards it, to be covered beneath by a New clean skin.. So too when One finds One's roots in Brahman by purity of mind, intellect, dettachment and discrimination...by the anugraha of the Supreme God, by his association One attains Samadhi in Brahman 🙏🙏❣️🥰🌹
Ved ji, the audio was going on and off periodically at regular intervals
    Hari Om! 🙏🙏
