FILM DESCRIPTION:
In Hollywood, actor James Franco is throwing a party with a slew of celebrity pals. Among those in attendance are his buddies Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. Suddenly, an apocalypse of biblical proportions erupts, causing untold carnage among Tinseltown's elite and trapping Franco's party in his home. As the world they knew disintegrates outside, cabin fever and dwindling supplies threaten to tear the six friends apart.

The first time I saw the movie I got goosebumps because after watching the first HTTYD movie several I pretty much memorized Hay Baruchel's voice.

I didn't realize this, but I read somewhere that if you pay close attention, the angels are singing "Take your panties off". I'm not kidding. I read that somewhere and after I did, I came back to this scene and listened carefully and they really are singing it while Craig is in that beam of light about to go to Heaven.

Giving up your own life to save the lives of others is the most selfless, righteous act one can committ, and it's so absolute that it doesn't even matter if it's done in self interest. I mean it's literally the moral foundation for the whole bible. It's literally what Jesus did to save humanity.
They actually got down the environment of Revelations “kind of” right. The only thing they missed is that people can’t get redeemed because they won’t want to be redeemed.

@@yankeesdoubleheader2375 Basically, during Revelations, as time passes (and this is very vague), there will be more and more bad things released (monsters, etc). Which is what they were experiencing. So in Revelations, all the people who aren’t saved usually don’t want to be with God, so as the atrocities caused by the trumpets occur, they will continue to sin. It’s actually kind of sad. It means that despite the horrible environment of Revelations, people who aren’t saved will continue to reject God and keep on sinning despite the horrible environment they’re in. So they won’t be redeemed because they don’t want to be redeemed.

Just giving into drinking, drugging, orgies etc if there's a sense of doom. Mentality of well if im going out im going out happy. I think I cried during this scene when I first saw this, but was happy when he got beamed up to heaven lol
It would have been more special if Craig had actually died and arrived in heaven without them knowing. But because they saw it and were able to literally see Craig get saved it skewed how special it was when they were nice to each other. It’s a lot easier to sacrifice yourself when you know there’s a chance a beam of light will literally come down from the clouds and carry you safely away. Craig at least was genuinely noble and “died” believing he was about to be torn limb from limb. That’s a real hero.
Is there a scene where someone was about to get saved, but acted dueshe at the last second, then dropped down? If so, then I think that answers the loophole.

I absolutely do not like this movie, as it is very anti christian in terms of the vulgarity expressed by the actors and as well as in the Christian eschatological teachings. But I did like that this scene fit Jesus’s words in John 15:13.

This movie taught me one thing.... God will always be there for you, Aslong as ya doing the right thing in the end with the right intentions, god will always be there to help you.. These guys are in point of survival, as a human who wants to survive, you will do anything to survive, even if it means killing ya friends(cuz of ya ape-instincts) eating all there food like danny mcbride or just running away without helping ya friend, but only a spiritual person or someone who has become woke will sacrifice there life for somebody else..
As someone who studied the Bible this god in the film who only rescues if you doe the right thing with the right intentions is the most unbiblical description. Where as from a biblical standpoint He rescues those who are undeserving out of pure a undeserving grace that we don’t deserve more could we earn.
