Chaotic Boss Battle Themes. What can I say about these mad lad tracks? Chaotic boss battle themes have a way of giving you energy while also giving you slight anxiety. That's kind of the beauty of it. Setting an atmosphere like that can be very interesting, especially if the boss battle itself resides in the "uncanny" territory. Having a song that matches said atmosphere can have some pretty strong effects on the player. This here is my take on making a song that fits that atmosphere while also giving off the feelings mentioned above. This is "How To: Make a Chaotic Boss Battle Theme in 5 Minutes". I hope you enjoy! This song was inspired by Earthboud and The Zelda Series!

nah, the omega flowey boss has this certain feeling of dread and panic which this one does not, your best nightmare is something completely unique that i don't know if anyone will be able to reproduce

Listening to this I'm just imagining a classy man in a suit who invites MC into a shady club or a hotel lobby or something. You've known the guy for a while in the game and he's popped in and out giving quick tutorial tips and hints.
He calls you in telling you he's got something urgent about [insert quest] and you have to talk to him before anything else. You enter the place and he talks about how dangerous things are going to be and that he doesn't want you to get hurt.
He offers to just stay in the city you're in rather than risk your neck saving the world, that you don't want to get mixed up in all that, etc. If you say yes it delays the fight until you try and leave town, where he stops you and you're forced to say no. If you say no, the man says "well it's better to meet your end here then face a fate worse than death out there."
Then his body melts into a swarm of bugs and you have to shoot the moving targets before they latch onto you and slowly leech your HP away.
During the fight you hear the man's voice saying that his bug form came from the hand of [insert BBEG] and he would rather kill than have you become the same. As you win, he pleads with you to give up until you slowly wither him down.
End of batlle cutscene, the man reforms into the suit and says he gives up. He dejectedly heads over to the bar and pours himself a drink saying:
"You'll come back here one day if you make it out alive. You'll beg me to put an end to your misery and I'll pour myself another drink and push you away. This is a mistake, kid. Go, get out of here. I don't want that look on your face to plague my conscience."
I feel like this comment is underrated in how cool it truly is, seriously.

I know the basics of standard notation, which is something he mentioned he didn't know in the Mario Paint video. But I couldn't accurately define what makes something a minor chromatic scale to someone that doesn't already know. He knows at least as much theory as I do, just different parts of it.

YES I absolutely LOVE how you incorporated your Soulless Cacophony track; I love that one! And I feel this song fits so well as a boss theme for that area. Superb work!
I don't know about you.. or about any one else.. but that main melody was just perfection. It's the type of part of the music to make you imagine your oc in a world full of chaos. The oc finds an aincient (or modern, whichever you want), artefact (a soul- like from undertale.) The colour of the Soul is gold. When the oc picks up the soul, they absorb it into their body. The soul gives them a feeling and trait of justice. The oc then gets some kind of weapon (a sword) and gives the world justice.

I'm not well-versed in music theory but I think I remember something Andrew Huang mentioned in a video about how it's typically more melodic to have the melody in the soprano clef instead of the bass clef, where the "base" for your music would typically be
so here, the walking bassline just helps to add to the chaos! it's like you're unsure which key you're in and it sounds much less organized (up until it flips back to normal for the calm parts)
this is just imo, but a lot of low notes in general just sound menacing, like the boss is rushing to you, so that's probably another thing ahah
