    Very insightful. got so many details on digital twin for my final research from this video which I was not able to efficiently grasp through reading ton of research articles. Thanks

    Wow after watching this video , I immediately Subscribe to your channel , very infomatic nad to the point infomation.
    Couls also make a video on BIM vs Digital Twin ? I feel 4D Model itself is Digital Twin isnt it ?

      Hi Nida. Thanks and welcome. That is an interesting topic. I will work on it when I find some time. About your question watch Digital Twin in Construction part 2 (czcams.com/video/qmJR7pDofVA/video.html). A 4D BIM model (3D + time) on its own is not a digital twin. You need a digital model + real-time data + data analytics to create a digital twin.
      BIM is a model of building information (usually static), to be a digital twin you need dynamic data and analysis of the data. I hope this clarifies a little bit more.

    Mam my sir asked me one question on digital twin that how vl u receive data of tht building vl we use any sensors

    • @builtevolvechannel8870
      @builtevolvechannel8870  Před 3 lety

      Real-time data can be collected from a building using various IoT sensors (temperature, humidity, light, CO2, etc.)

    I have a question. Is a 3D "BIM" Model of building (built before the physical asset) its digital twin ? If no then why? Please elaborate

    • @builtevolvechannel8870
      @builtevolvechannel8870  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Sameer. You have raised an interesting question. A digital twin is a twin for a physical object. So when your building is not constructed, you don't actually have any physical object. So a detailed BIM model with no "real data" incorporated into it can't make a "digital twin". We need both physical and digital twins and the connections between them. I hope this clarifies.

      @@builtevolvechannel8870 Thanks a lot. That certainly clarified my doubt.
      Since you're here I'll just ask 1 short question for a short answer maybe 😁
      I believe that LODs (Level of development) and BIM Maturity levels serve the same purpose i.e. BIM model "rightness level. And What I understood is that LODs originated from AIA (American Institute of Architects) and BIM Maturity levels from BS (British Standards). The question is, am I right? Coz I am not finding any solid material to support my understanding. Thanks again. Have a great day :)

    • @builtevolvechannel8870
      @builtevolvechannel8870  Před 2 lety

      @@Sameer.K2 Another interesting question. LOD has had various definitions in different standards, but it has always been a part of the UK BIM standard: Level of Detail, Level of Development and Level of Level of Definition. I prefer Level of Detail because it makes it easier to understand what it refers to in practice. There are more LODs than BIM maturity levels. The main difference between these two terms is the way they are used. BIM maturity is not used in projects as much as LOD which is an important definition that specified the project deliverables.

    in a practical term, I am very curious to know how we will integrate our revit mode or the static model with any sort of software or how we are going to achieve that, based on my research we have autodesk tandom but still its not clear.

      Autodesk Tandem will be a potential platform in the future. Some are using Autodesk Forge. There are various platforms but all are developing.

      Hi Claresse, very good question. Digital twin is still a relatively new subject in the construction and built environment sectors. However, some companies have been working on creating digital twin platforms for sometime now (Autodesk, IES VE, Unity, etc.). For example, check this link for IES VE digital twin platform (ICL): www.iesve.com/digital-twin-technology

    Please help me understand how this is any different from the traditional modeling. How is this different from a SCADA? I'm genuinely interested to know? It just sounds like people are calling a very old concept something new becuase it uses ML and IoT and provides sights? Linear regression predicts trends and RS485 coms send n receive data realtime. Does a fancy web dashboard, wireless coms and datadriven ML warrant believing it is anything new?... same same but not different. Just marketing word salad.

      Very interesting comment. I appreciate you sharing your insight. The concept has been there, the application of the concept is now going to the next level (we have now moved from possibilities to business models). Your comment is valid but here I am discussing the practical application (not the theoretical knowledge).
