British police have arrested Bill Yuen Chung-biu, an office manager at the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, and two others on charges of foreign interference and assisting a foreign intelligence service between December 2023 and May 2024. Hong Kong leader John Lee Ka-chiu has called the charges “unwarranted allegations” and pledged to safeguard the rightful interests of the city’s overseas trade promotion offices.

So? Literally every country has one. The reason why the UK is upset about HK’s is that it has been used to suppress dissent and has been used for trivial actions such as posting on social media.

Hypocrisy? The number of times the CCP kidnapped HK citizens, including a British embassy worker and denied it in the 2010s is the real hypocrisy.
