Looking forward to all your great work for this monumental offseason for the Raiders! There are so many variables it's like the beginning of a chess game right now. One factor I have not heard mentioned is that tyrannical "Super Bowl window." I do believe it exists because of the way the NFL is structured today. It is impossible to get to the top and stay there unless you somehow get a Tom Brady as QB, and that doesn't happen very often. When you have the pieces to make a move in the playoffs and get your shot, that's the most you can hope for these days.
With the defense we now have we are only a couple of pieces away from being top-10 and with a couple of offensive linemen and a real QB, we can get a shot for the Super Bowl now, but we don't have that long. Crosby is at his peak right now at 26. Kolton Miller is 28 . Moves need to be made now to capitalize on that talent. We have ZERO real answers on the O line apart from him, but we have a great chance in free agency to add some very good players with the cap space we have and really elevate that unit. A rookie QB will hard pressed to take us far and maybe trading for Fields or signing Wilson is the way to go. That window can close real fast.

Aiden Occonel is better than what a lot of fans give him credit for

AOC needs a little time, he kind of knows where to go with ball. He's smart maybe not play timid or going for deep passes when you just need 1or 2 yards on 3rd down, not sure if that was coaching OC thinking. I like AOC but I wish for Daniels people who don't believe in that watch him go somewhere else and blow it up like Stroud did this year. He is that guy!!! And if we go get him we will be the TEAM Raaaaaaiiiiiiddddeeeerrrrrrrrs

Ball placement is the most important aspect of a qb , running is not . Yes you need to be able to move around and keep the play alive but just because a guy is more athletic doesn't make him a better qb

Don’t panic y’all it’s going to be AP! not sure about champ, but it probably will be the NFL just asked the teams not to announce any major announcement until at least after the first set of divisional games not to take the focus away from the games this week, so maybe we’ll know something Saturday or Sunday or even Monday go Raiders!!

Aidan O'Connell is 3-2 in the AFC West. We know he'd be 4-2 if he played in that 1st game against Denver. His stats 2,218 YDS 12 TD 7 INT in 10 games, I think we should give him another shot as the starter. But he will need a better O-Line and a good Offense Coordinator. Hopefully Antonio Pierce hires a good OC this season coming up, and also get some extra depth on defense!

When I saw the dolphins game in the 4th Q in crucial times when the pocket collapse Aiden couldn’t move hardly at all and that showed me we need a modern Mobile QB that was wrap get it done raiders draft us franchise QB .

Yes, there’s a real possibility that they don’t work out - in fact, it’s likely based on plain old history. Regardless, the math doesn’t work. Y’all are living in a fantasy if you think we have the juice to get up there for any of the “big 3” - there’s 3 or 4 teams outside of the top 5 who need QBs and all of them are already above us and will need less to get it done. Let it go. Unless Champ has some kind of inside scoop with Chicago (unlikely.) Embrace Bo Nix as your QB of the future. At best, we fall back a few spots to get him. Or, we just go for the best CB or DT and see how the draft falls to us.

I'd be incredibly surprised if the Patriots don't draft a QB. Kraft may have backed Mac Jones but that doesn't mean anything really. He let's the football minds do their job. I think they'll target Maye. I would be super excited if we got Daniels though. Only thing I wish we had was a solid vet that Jayden could sit behind for a season maybe to learn the ropes. He has a great arm and can escape pressure but he's a bit small to be running all over the place in the NFL. I'm excited for the future after the Pierce hire though. Just add some offensive minds and talent and we'll be ballin.
In thr top 12--8 teams will take a QB--Bears,Commanders,Patriots,Falcons,Giants,Jets,Broncos,Vikings---will all take a QB. It will take 3 firsts 2 seconds and either Crosby or Davante---there are too many QB needy teams and not enough elite Qbs.
Yeah and giving up our best receiver for a QB that would mesh great with him doesnt make sense! And we definitely can't get rid of crosby!

I think there is some real fire to the smoke that the Raiders are interested in QB J Fields. I can see the Raiders trading a 3rd round pick to acquire their guy. I can not see the Raiders trading 3 first round picks to acquire the #1 pick in the draft.
I don't even think they have to trade this years 3rd round pick. If the Raiders make it a conditional 3rd round to 2nd round pick in 25, they would keep all of their 24 draft capital.
Listen. I know Fields has a fifth year option and that's fine. It's not that big of a dollar amount and the fact The success has been limited so far, actually means more for the dollars in that second contract being a bit less.

Thanks Sanjit.. How do you reset every three years at QB when you waste all your picks to get one of these guys? We will never have top draft picks. Trade for an established QB, Mayfield, Cousins type and build our team with the draft picks. Why play the guessing game on college QB's. Way too risky. If you have a can't miss guy maybe take a chance on college QB, but so many have not been that successful. Let other teams weed them out and build a strong team.

I get why Raiders fans would like this pick. but lets be honest here, there is no way in HELL this happens. Too many QB needy teams pick ahead of them.

It’s very upsetting to think about the Raiders trading up to get a Williams or May or anyone of the top prospects. If it turns out to be a bad pick, ala Jamarcus Russell, then it will set the franchise back for many years to come. And if I was a betting man, whoever ends up with Williams, will be extremely disappointed. The kid has talent! But he has said things and done things that tell me he’s not mature enough to handle the NFL and handle millions of dollars! It there is a top prospect when it’s our turn, then fine. There’s no guarantee that a top college prospect is a winner. CJ Stroud is an exception. Not the norm! If there isn’t a top QB available, then so be it. Select a top tiered tackle or guard. Or get a top tiered DT! If the Raiders decide to trade with Chicago to get Fields, then hopefully it will only cost a second round pick this year and a 4th round next year. We cannot mortgage the future for someone who isn’t a proven NFL quarterback.

We need a QB that can run. Whether thats Daniels, Nix or McCarthy. They can all run. Penix had negative 18 rushing yards in the regular season. He's very much like O'Connell but with a better arm and faster processing.
The problem is there's 6 teams drafting ahead of us who are potentially taking a QB - and that doesn't count someone who may trade ahead of us. 6 teams and only 5 qb's. If 3 QB's got top 3 then trading up to picks 4, 5 or 6 might be necessary if we want our pick between Nix and McCarthy. Nix I feel can start right away. McCarthy could use a year before he's ready. Penix is off my board... and there's no QB worth taking later since Cam Ward has decided to return to school.
Same for Penix Jr. Four season ending injuries already.
