Why does bipolar Disorder happen??
The exact cause of bipolar disorder is not fully understood, but it is thought to be a combination of genetic, biological, and environmental factors.
Genetics plays a role in bipolar disorder, as the disorder tends to run in families. Studies have shown that individuals with a first-degree relative (parent, sibling, or child) with bipolar disorder have an increased risk of developing the disorder themselves.
There are also biological factors that may contribute to the development of bipolar disorder. Research has suggested that there may be changes in the brain structure and function in individuals with bipolar disorder.
Abnormalities in neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that transmit signals in the brain, have also been found in individuals with bipolar disorder. These neurotransmitters, such as dopamine and serotonin, play a role in regulating mood, and abnormal levels of these chemicals may contribute to the development of bipolar disorder.
Environmental factors, such as stress, traumatic events, and substance abuse, can also contribute to the development of bipolar disorder. Stressful life events can trigger episodes of mania or depression in individuals who are at risk for bipolar disorder. Substance abuse, particularly alcohol and stimulants, can also trigger or worsen symptoms of bipolar disorder.
It's important to note that bipolar disorder is a complex illness and the cause can be multifaceted, involving several factors. It's also important to consult with a mental health professional to evaluate symptoms, and to select the most appropriate treatment.

Lithium is a drug used to treat bipolar patients. Lithium serum test is done just to check the level of lithium in blood because its toxic level in blood can lead to life threatning situation.
This test can not be used to diagnose bipolar disorder.
