This week we have awesome planes, epic crashes, and tons of laughs! First we meet up with a good friend, John Overstreet to fly the new FT-F 14. This monster size DIY jet has fully functional wings and an amazing flight envelope. We put this plane to the test and even come in close contact with an epic mid air collision. But don’t worry, a little bit of foam, tape, and hot glue and we’re back at it again going from beautiful IDF jets to 30 minute builds that anyone can do we test out and have some fun with our newest release, the FT netball and FT flyer, these classic models I made a return to the flitetest store in a new reimagined way that makes flying and building even more enjoyable than its original version later on we hit the road to join John and Missouri to attend Johns plane crazy build day. This event is a free outreach ministry that is open to the public. We build, fly and teach people the joys of flight and make memories while helping them to build the very own aircraft. FT also has a special surprise when Michael and Josh decide to bring their paramotors and explore the grounds with John and Lees help of a off-road escort with one of the most epic flights we’ve ever had!

Can’t wait to save up to get to fly my first ever RC plane. Lifelong dream and you guys made it so I believe it’s a reality. Been building cardboard gliders with son in the meantime. Keep it up. Building memories together.
What you planning on getting?
I recommend getting a mini eachine plane like the P-51-D, it flies great with a self stabilization mode
@@BMMEC6000 I don’t know yet. Been watching reviews from FliteTest, RCSaylors, and RCEssentials lately. But looking like $150-$200 is the target budget for something the will help a first time flyer. Lots left to learn.
Check out our EZ series design, aircraft. Incredibly easy to build easy to fly and very versatile.
@@matthewharris9147 hobbyzone aeroscout is the best begginer plane out there to me. I’ve gotten several people in the hobby with them and there 240 ready to fly comes with everything u need to get in the are YOU CAN FLY!!!!
I'm 8 minutes into the video and I'm starting wonder how many crashes can you guys have in one video.
In a more serious note I love your videos
You should see their first season videos!
It was awesome not only seeing these F14s, but also flying one! Such a gentle giant. And I need to come to Plane Crazy Build Day next year! Looks awesome.
That is epic! I love the wings of the F-14! What a collision that was as well!
I loved how gracefully it came crashing down. Perfect flat spin. A little ejection seat would have been legendary.
Wow. Can I just mention how they reenacted Gooses death? What a coincidence.
Its great to see Johns OG Foamboard master build finally make it to production. Hearing that it flies easy is fantastic, just gotta figure out when to buy and build one myself!
Haha flat spin, its just too perfect 🤣 Awesome video as always you guys!
Awesome, my dream is to build model airplanes by myself
i think we need some mighty mini EDF's jets for the indoor winter flying
Aww yea. The Flite Test F-14 Show. This'll be good.
Edit. I hope those F-14 T-shirts are up for grabs.
Love the f-14 but would really love to see you build a Tornado GR4 with the moving wing setup. Keep up the great work. 👍 #FliteTest
I want to see NAA RA-5C Viglante.
For research purposes could you guys try to get an RC plane iced over this winter? Would be cool to see icing effects.
flew my freewing F-22 through some light freezing drizzle one winter, it iced up and slowly mushed down to the ground, LOL! It had around 1/8" ice on parts of the fuse and wing, most amusing!
Almost 300 views in the first 3 minutes. Great job guys
I follow you since the beginning of your endeavor. I can't believe how big and amazing company you have become! I truly admire you for what you all achieve. Congrats!
Amazing video, love the accidentally flat spin lol. But id love to see you guys do something with the F-4 in literally anyway
While I was watching the results of the crash as you guys were examining it I was looking for signs of a balsa structure. Until you said it was a foam board airplane I wasn't sure what I was seeing. That was an incredible airplane made out of foam board. Now I will never have that kind of skill believe me don't say it'll only take practice cuz that's not true. He is an artist plain and simple. Anyways another fantastic video look forward to them every week. Take care guys from Canada.
What an AWESOME video, guys!
There was a lot of joy and brotherhood in this! 😀 God Bless!
Its amazing! - ly terrible.....
Really cool footage, although it cost the plane. 🙌🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Y'all should revisit making a cinderblock fly and show how much easier it would be nowadays
Brilliant episode.
Also a big difference is the F-14 Does not use ailerons the only roll control on the 14 was a set of Spoilers the tail planes were what controlled roll and pitch what the wings did have were flaps and leading edge slats i think that is why you where unable to fly it with one wing out
That F-14 was so good too bad it crashed after the collision.
Nice video. Can you guys make a Working Darkstar with Working landing gear there Can fly realy fast
My cousin and I scaled down the nutball and used the HobbyZone champ motor and board. It's a blast to fly inside and out.
So glad you guys brought the nut ball back, I will for sure be purchasing one 🤪
1:30 Just something I noticed, the wings appear to be TOO far forward on the sweep. Maybe adjust the end points to make sure it looks more scale. Once again, just something I noticed, it still is an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL jet!
I was thinking the same thing. The forward position is CLOSE, probably only a difference of 5 degrees of sweep.
Sorry , but the wing angle looks about right , for the high lift , low drag configuration .
The F14 was originally a purpose designed , and built shipborne aircraft for use on a 200 ft runway . Sweeping the wing fully forward like this , enabled full use of flaps and slats to achieve high lift , very low speed , so badly needed for carrier operation . I have to admit , it's not one of the prettiest configurations for the 14 , but it was efficient .
The Tornado in contrast , was designed from the outset for land based operations . Where long tarmac runways , in excess of 1000 ft abound . To that end the wings never needed to be swept that far forward , as the runways were longer .
A straight wing is far more efficient , and stable at slow speed , than a swept wing , however , completely the opposite is true for very high speed . Also flap arrangement is more difficult on a swept/delta wing . The latter often not having such devices they rely on aerodynamic lift to slow down , ie concorde . This would have made the 14 totally unsuitable for ship board operation , and hence , the reason for the variable geometry wing .
@@mickey1299 I was going from the memory of watching them on the flight deck. Admittedly that memory is 40 years ago . . .
@@mickey1299 Right, I do understand the benefits of the variable geometry wing. The thing is, I’ve seen topside/bottom side images of F-14s with the wings in the takeoff position, and it appears at 1:30 that the wing is ever so slightly more “forward” than scale. Remember the “wings out” position is still 20 degrees of sweep. It’s very minimal but it is barely noticeable.
The way the plane fell one wings damaged in a downwards spiral I can hear the NOOOOOO😂
F 14 became an actor. It Started to stall like the maverick one
I think it would be awesome to see a mini F-14!
Lol i know its a scam dude its not even worth trying
the crash is just like in the movie ITS SO COOL XD
when the drone hit the plain I legit said " hay I've seen this one before"
Boy your channel has come a long way! So glad you guys are having so much fun!! Great "work", keep it up!
Man- that guy has a great attitude
You guys crack me up: "Eject, eject!"
You guys should have one of those exploding dog fights with like 4 of these up at the same time.
yes.
F-14 is awesome and I am very happy to see that FliteTest is continuing paramotor and it made an appearance in the video. Great job!!
"flat spin! flat spin!" me : "Josh! noooooooooooo!"
Awesome video
Over half of my Career in the Navy was with F14'S I went from Vf32 Swordsman with F14 A to B to B upgrades. Then to Vf101 Grimreapers with F14 A-D and back to Vf32 and transitioned to super Hornets.
If not not mistaken, they did a carrier take off and landing with the wings in over sweep. Not just the 68 degrees when they're going fast, but at 75 degrees for stowing on a carrier
rc airplane are the best thing ever ❤
edit: aside from real ones
I'd be in my basement trying to rebuild that tomcat as well.
You guys are brutal on planes.. Great video as always..
I have the admit that flying rc airplanes are a lot of fun thank you test flight
Y'all need to build the SR-71 Blackbird.
This is the best vid you guys flew. The tomcat is my favorite plane
Did the drone take out the wing? What a flight!
"My Coffee!" Lmfao, caught on to that.
jesus loves yall! great video ive been watching since i was 10
The f 14 is so cool were can I take lessons to make RC airplanes
I would recommend contacting a local RC flying club if there is one.
@@fettlerjohn3419 ok thanks
This is cool nice job
I love these videos, they’re fun
Pretty sure this has been suggested before for the round wing plane. Upsize it and make a small scale Vought XF5U "Flying Flapjack". Biggest difference really would be a two motor configuration instead of a single.
That sounds like fun!
I just want to say this is the second channel I've run across where the guys are Christians and proud of it and advertise it in their videos and I love that! Thanks for being ambassadors for Jesus Christ!
just a recommendation, for landing i would say put your wings out so you can stay up a bit better just like the real one
I Would Like to See Your Team Adapt one of the Balsa
( Rubber Powered ) Planes to Electric Motor & RC 🌿
You guys should make RC tank kits so people have stuff to attack or bomb or even tank to tank battle
I miss working on the real Tomcats with VF-143, the world famous Pukin Dogs.
ANYTIME BABY!!
this is so cool... but could you build also an ornithopter (a flying objekt that flaps with its wigs) please
dude somebody in this video has the same creepy laugh as the joker from the last joker movie that Joaquin Phoenix did 2:43
I know you guys mostly build rc airplanes, but... It would really be really awesome if you made a functional Octane rc car from rocket league.
It could have a second motor that can be activated via remote control for it to go in super sonic and a hydraulic mechanism for it's ability to jump and for style points, LED lights and a small smoke machine for the boost trail.
Please consider my idea, I think it would be a really cool project.
Man that f14 is is awesome. The designe may be proud work 9f genius 👏
Come on guys! Please share with all of the flite test fans the F-14 Tomcat plans.
For the love and passion of this amazing hobby!!! Please!
@user-tt4so6iq8d Hi!!!!! I didn't quite get your reply after the message I left on this video. I have been trying to contact you via the Flite Test Instagram but I am not sure if this is actually what you meant.
Sorry for that :-(
I hope you will still read this
Thanks for answering me anyway.
would love to see the F-14 enlarged, and I know it’s already a pretty big plane to begin with, but I couldn’t imagine if you enlarge this plane like you have many others in the past how slow it could go and how fast it could as well!!
Sorry to see that happened. Are you selling the F14 kits? That would be cool.
We have them in the store now :)
@@FliteTest thank you.
FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
can you do an air battlw: p-63 king cobra vs b-17?
yo that was awesome , love your faces
how does the f14 wing swing work? servo,?special-gearbox? kinda wanna see a vid on how to build? :)
Absolutely fantastic!
For some reason I thought the mid-air was going to be a Refueling/battery swap in the Paramotor.
Would be a blast as a volunteer helping out around the shop.
Love this as the f-14 is my fav plane but i would just like to ask if you can do one of these suggestions, either a vtol harrier or a thrust vectored jet like a sukhoi fighter, either of these would be great to see
What did you think about this: make an monster size carrier and monster size planes?
It’s coming friend
Now make retractable landing gear for the F-14
Great episode guys, that F14 is looking sleek!
Talk to me Goose!!!
'Goose' eject, eject, get out of there !
Now to build the mig 28 and the explosives and do a full top gun in air battle 😜
They need to make an arresting arm and arresting cables and try and land it like that
I still want to buy a paramotor when i get a job.
The F - 14 is so cool
Sad to see the crash.
But it looked super cool
Oh, and first
You little shi-
@@Alf7245 what?
He thou spoiled it
So cool
Go back to the fpv cockpit that was awsome
Of course it crashed in a flat spin😂
You guys should do a f-35 model
Does it have tailrons? It looks like it hasn't and that's rly sad. Would also be awesome to get a smaller version :D
the Tail does have elevators but its only a partial surface not the entire tail moving.
@@silverphinex So it has elevators and not tailrons and that kills it for me somehow :D But if i think about it, i can just fix that while i build it. Next problem is that we can''t buy this kit in germany so i think i need to wait for the e-flite f-14 than and this plane is alrdy 9months late -.-
This is very cool! I'd love to see the Macon with a Sparrowhawk. Doable?
u guys should make a working catilina
I really thought I was clicking on a Tucker Gott video
Nice!
Hey Guys .......... where is Thunderbird 2 ? .......... would love to see that !
A little late to tell me not to name my kid Goose. 😫 Thanks a lot.
F/a-18 vs F-14 dogfight to see which one is superior
Nice guys ,you just killed Goose 😭
yo flite test can you guys make a stuka build on de store i saw de vidoe over de stuka a yaar ago but can you guys make it a build for poepel to buy
Please please make a b 29 vs Zeros and the b29 has working turrets
Are the chuck glider f14’s in the shop aswell ?
since you've proven the design for the F14, do you intend to make a BONE?
Cool
