Thanks for the tag, bro!
Great tag! Interesting questions, and I enjoyed hearing your responses.
Thanks. So many books to choose from. The never shrinking tbr! Happy reading.
Excellent response! The chain of associations you describe at the end seems an especially important way to process information: don't have each topic in isolation. If what you learn is true, it connects to the broader world. It helps, at least for me, to ponder those connections (suddenly that topic gets slotted in alongside the rest and, nicely, becomes as much a memory as the rest, too).
Yes when things start connecting it opes things up. Best wishes and happy reading to you.
I’m so glad that you did this tag! I really enjoyed hearing your responses. Loved seeing your writing notes too! Thanks for doing this one, and thanks, too, for the lovely comment about me.
I hope you are finding good things to read Pat. Happy reading.
@@ReadingIDEAS.-uz9xk all good! Just trying to stay out of the sweltering heat! 🥵
A part of me wishes I had annotated books as sometimes I see a book on my shelves and can't recall how it ended for example.
The only extra focus I may put into a book is a finger guiding the way down the page. It does help me read faster too.
I tried to annotate but found I was highlighting everything or nothing! I could never get the balance right! I nearly ended up with a day-glo neon book!
I thought for the reading slump, it meant they want to read, but they can't get into another book because they just finished an amazing book or a really bad book and/or they don't know what to read next, but there is a desire to read. 🤷♀ the mind map looks cool. Could you share more on that?
Thanks. I will put together a video on mind maps. I have found them really useful. Happy reading.
@@ReadingIDEAS.-uz9xk I look forward to it. Thank you for tagging us. My son and I recorded the tag and have it scheduled for tomorrow.
Your experience with Nietzsche sounds a lot like mine. Thanks for tagging me - though it turns out I did the tag probably about simultaneously with you. You gave an interesting insight into Jordon Peterson whose videos seem to be popping into my feed endlessly these days because I actually watched one. Not a big mistake, but it feels to me a bit like he is an attention seeker (not that that need necessarily be a bad behavior), and I don’t want my viewing time to be used in that way.
I must get back into some poetry. So many good books to read. The never shrinking tbr! Happy reading to you David.
