    I bought my 2007 MR right off the showroom floor. From the day I got it until the day I sold it 8 years later, it kept me entertained - more so that any other BMW I've owned in the last 30 years. I've driven the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Merritt, and the Angeles Crest in it, always walking away with a smile on my face. I sold it at 44k miles, when I moved to right-hand-drive Asia, but I miss it every day - as much as I do my 1972 2002tii. It was truly the ultimate driving machine of its time, and remains the most engaging car I've ever driven. Enjoy yours. It's a brilliant machine, the likes of which will never be made again.

    It's nice to see someone who truly understands the Z4M. I've done the coil over and I've put in high performance clutch. 245 up front and 275 on the rear. Now I need your intake. Continue to enjoy!!

    I have a 2006 Z4 m roadster that I'm thinking about selling. It only has 57,000 miles. I bought it from a dealership in California 5 years ago and I barely driven it two or three thousand miles in 5 years. It's been a great car I do love driving it it's fast fun everything your review says. If anyone is interested reply to my comment and perhaps I might sell it it's not officially for sale but I just don't have time to drive it. It's bone stock with a sport button that I don't even know what it does.

    As a fellow Z4MR owner I whole heartily agree! KWV3 is nice but if you want a more compliant street car and simple one knob adjustment I would highly recommend the PSS10s. A proper set of Coilovers completely transform the car! Rod bearings definitely go with wpc treated OEM bearings and OEM bolts. Be sure to do the motor mounts and motor mount arm bolts while your in there. I tried the bimmer world performance mounts but the car shook to much at idle so I switched to the OEM plus 034 Motorsports ones. Also rouge engineering trans mounts are a must. I am Jimbob0047 on the e85 forum.

    Fantastic video, as well as your other Z4M material! I come back to this alot. I've been swooning over a Z4M for a few years now and been close to taking the leap, and here I am back again. I have just come out of an S2000, and although incredible on backroads, it just felt too limited and unpleasant to daily, so I unfortunately let it go. I used to have a 3.0si Z4 Roadster and took a lot of joy out of being able to use it for the mundane everyday parts of life. Dropping the top after a long day of work to go to the gym just felt great. I don't commute to work or need to drive everyday, so I want something with drama and it has to be a roadster. Essentially a weekend toy, which is equally adept at the occasional road trip and trips around town. As someone who has driven this, as well a a Boxster I would love to know your thoughts. Something about the Z4M's rawness, and 8000RPM appeals to me, I guess I'm hoping it's a GT version of the S2000 I loved so much but found limited for real life. The Boxster 981 is £10k more atleast than the Z4M over here and I'm worried it may feel a little too 'clinical' but it's between those two at the moment. I loved how crazy the S2000 sounded and felt. So as someone who's driven the Z4M and Boxster I would love to know your thoughts!

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thank you! The S2000 is a blind spot for me so I can’t offer direct comparisons but generally; the Boxster is likely to be more akin to the S2000 in terms of agility/“tossability” when driven quickly. The Z4M is more of a little bruiser, it’s imperfect but very fun at the limit, could feel a bit heavy by comparison to the S2k. Engine wise, I love the flat-6 sound but the S54 is an exceptionally special engine, definitely offers a 6-Cylinder version of that frantic S2000 experience. With you having owned a 3.0Si I’d say to imagine the Z4M as that with a lot of extra flavor. Put as simply as possible, the Boxster is the more classically composed sports car and the Z4M is a bit more of a mini-M3. 987 vs Z4M i probably lean Z4M, 981 vs Z4M is a VERY tough call for me. As a toy they’re both awesome, but the 981 in particular is going to be FAR more modern to live with for regular errands, and ride substantially better, so weigh that in as well.

    • @abbasmushtaq137
      @abbasmushtaq137 Před 3 měsíci

      @@BuzzytheBlue Really appreciate the thoughtful reply. Big help! It's definitely one to weigh up, I'm slightly leaning towards the Z4M over the 981as it's almost half the price for a clean one here in the UK. I also barely do 1000 miles a year so I don't really need a fancy infotainment system and new tech. Also similar to the S2000, it's got an iconic engine that I can modify and improve with an airbox etc (as you've done) which appeals to me unlike in the 981 where it's all hidden away. They both have pro's and con's. Thanks again, and I look forward to watching more of your content!

    Love your channel and videos, i recently joined Z4M owners club amazing car! I went for my first autocross event last weekend, it was amazing! How do you maintain traction with DSC off on the courses. I felt like i couldn't keep the power on the ground. What tires do you run?

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you! As far as maintaining traction is concerned, it’s all about being patient with the throttle on corner exit. If you go to the gas too early it’s just going to push, or if you give it more gas, oversteer. Nothing specific to the M to be honest, beside it being a bit snappier due to the short wheelbase.
      I’ve ran Michelin PSS at the stock size and now run Firestone Indy 500s at 245F/275R. Still requires patience on a tight autoX though. As you can see in my videos though, I really enjoy getting the car sideways so (if it won’t get you kicked out) get used to sliding the car, get really comfortable there, over the limit, and it’ll be much easier to feel when you’re approaching it and balance it on that edge.

    Hi, I have some questions:
    unfortunately, for other reasons, I have to open the engine to the Z4 M which has traveled about 55,000 km (or 34000 miles).
    Do you advise me to change the rod bearings?
    What other interventions can I have done in your opinion? I was thinking about vanos more than anything else (the car is of 2007 production, the o-rings will no longer be very fresh), and the timing chain guides also.
    What upgrades do you think I can do?
    I was thinking of light pulleys and / or light flywheels. do they make sense?
    thank you so much

    • @PearsonSharp
      @PearsonSharp Před 4 lety

      @@BuzzytheBlue Well, a lot of it was spent chasing a ghost in the machine. Car would randomly stall, and no one could figure out why. BMW had it for a week, couldn't even reproduce the problem, my specialist mechanic had it for two weeks, nothing. After three years of this I was ready to sell the car, though by this point I'd already put considerable money into it. Bought a new computer, DME, had it reprogrammed, replaced mass air sensor (which mechanic thought was the problem)... the list goes on. Finally spent two weeks at another specialist to discover it was a short in the wiring harness, so had to fix that as well. Touch wood, it's been three months with no issues, so I think we fixed it. But then just a bunch of odd random stuff, $200 here, $700 there, it adds up fast. Previous owners cared more about drilling holes in the trunk lid to install a luggage rack than taking care of the car. So now I'm fixing that too. Money pit. But a darn cute one. Seems like I'm on top of it now, so hopefully we can just start spending money on the fun stuff. Could've bought 3 CSL air boxes at this point... That said, I'm also a perfectionist, and I like to maintain everything like new, so I'm probably taking care of more things than it actually needs. What's the fun of having a hobby daily-driver if you can't pamper it?
