Saw them many times. A jam band that could pass the solos around. Motown wanted some of that rock and roll money, so this was their cross over band. Rare Earth could play as the lead act and do a 1 hour show with no more than 6-7 songs. In the classic rock concert days (70-75 ish), these guys were one of my Top 5 best ever shows. Pete Rivera on drums and vocals!!!

"Rare Earth" is actually on the "Motown" record label. And I also, being 65 years old remember listening to The Temptations and all of the other Motown artists back in the 60s and early 70s. This is an excellent cover of the original. More Rare Earth would be nice.

Love this song. Rare Earth was one of of the few if only rock bands on Motown. The Temptation version was #1 on R&B but #29 on the pop charts and Rare Earth version hit #4 on the pop charts a few years later as a cover. I play bass in my band and always fills the dance floor when played. Check out the long version with the bass and drum solo. As a bass player you will like it.

Usually the most famous or in band of the time is credited with that song
      IE-Get Ready
More popular when Temptations did it
      Even

      1st was aUndisputed Truth

"Get Ready" is a Motown song written by Smokey Robinson, which resulted in two hit records for the label: a U.S. No. 29 version by The Temptations in 1966, and a U.S. No. 4 version by Rare Earth in 1970. It is significant for being the last song Robinson wrote and produced for the Temptations...
