  • This week’s video from the Southern Foodways Alliance documentary series features the Choctaw-Apache tribe of Ebarb, Louisiana, which has been farming and living off the land for centuries. After being forced off their river-side land in the 60s and relocated, they’ve faced a stream of challenges in preserving their culture, especially their cuisine. Watch the video above to learn more.

My heart breaks for them. How awful that their entire culture and community was not only forced out, but they now have to continue fighting to be recognized? I hope, even in the worst case, they're able to keep their traditions alive somehow.

Smh the original Choctaw who was black. And still black to this day I know cuz a real descendant of them only thing is we were killed on paper some put into slavery with our names and land taken and we still have no rights to this day nobody wants to acknowledge the truth American Indian not even the true American Indian he's too busy on a African hunt to not realize he is the true aborigine to this land my family at the time was a light-skinned at cask what brown people scattered about so allow this to perceive the title did the Census Bureau put on us as freed person read received land in Southeast Texas Jasper County Woodville tx. And I have family and Oklahoma in a mostly all black free tax land they're only is not a considered a reservation but we have certain right that precedes the national laws on that particular land I'm talking about. Y'all are claiming something I truly believe I'll know nothing about but what y'all told answer one question for me what is the mother tribe of the Choctaw what are the 3 brother tribe's of the Choctaw what was the original language of the Choctaw or the mother tribe of the Choctaw anybody that is fool to believe that a white man is a full-blooded Indian has no thought process if I'm seeing the black man is the original American Indian there was a volumes about the so-called American Indian not the white people claiming to be American Indians but the people we think are American Indians which are descendants of American Indians but they are Gatekeepers they know the truth they know the truth for benefits land benefits who wouldn't if you can see from your eyes the people that you are selling is causing more problems to you because of the people who want them so badly you why wouldn't you the Black Seminoles that rout the Trails of Tears will slowly picked off and put into slavery we have to think in the mind of that day in a loss of that day we stated any black woman a man or child with no papers was considered to be a runaway so what do you call a Seminole Runaway nobody is thinking with logic everybody wanted to sound good right people want the 40 acres in a Mule but this is your land talking about reparations if they all leave pay this for reparations of being a slave who will make them bankrupt this is a corporation of United States of America not the land of United States of America meaning they don't hold sway to the man meaning they have a contract for so many hundreds of years or whatever you want to say that they had to keep renewing a contract with Morocco the Moors are traitors when they lost to the Spanish they showed the new Royal bloodlines the passageways to the new lands so they saw fit to say new lands when I say the new Bloodlines of Europe yes your was indeed a black land with black kings with black landowners Earl's Dukes any statue of rank belong to the black man that's why they call it the Dark Ages this is his history leaving the white man and everybody who subscribes to tell the LIE you are right in your history over cuz you probably don't like the truth either if we were here before anybody if the black man is the oldest vessel on the Earth why we stay in one place why can't you find this us in any island around America you people not fooling no-one and closing how can y'all act like y'all are the Choctaw when there is a massive black Choctaw tribe in Louisiana that y'all do not acknowledge I wonder why I'm speaking to the so-called Native American give rights or rights or do know that you or or not the original people you do not look like the original people you are descendants of the original people the original people's bloodline strong bloodline a strong bloodline than yours is still among y'all that y'all do not acknowledge y'all are mixed and you know it for the white people saying that they are from this tribe if you have any of the blood in you it should be small amount do . Every word that a white man has stepped foot in this land he has described the natives as being swarthy look up that word no not one of the so-called Indians today can't even describe their skin as being swarthy or hair is coarse is a lamb no one every hairstyle the straight hairstyle The Long dark course dark hair all is from the blacks let's go a little further down Mexico the olmecs well black they found the statues once and reburied then like I think like a hundred years later they they dug it back. All around the world Rome blacks the first emperor I'm sorry Emperor's or black Greece was black definitions were black even though y'all won't let blacks have this one or any of them but Egypt was black Italy was ruled by the black Spanish Moors for 700 years they're mixed Queen Isabella father was a black a moor to be real half of the so-called Native Americans don't even have my bloodline they came across the Bering Strait Bridge any Native American today bloodline can be traced to the Inuit they didn't have this land first when they came in this land that was waring with the true people of this land have y'all ever heard of Queen Khalifa if not she's a reason why California is named California she was a black Mexican her people were from Mexico she came into the interior of America and claim the land that's where the Amazon Women came from cuz they didn't won't mean in the trials the only reason they allowed men to have villages close by was to make with them they were known for killing me in killing boys sorry little boys until a certain time where the whole tribe Amalgamated across California

@@jayesmith336 U can write the longest lie ever about Choctaws, but ur lies still won't change anything. What U r is a covetous person & God said Coveters will not inherit the kingdom of God. Ur thoughts is what is causing U 2 covet N.A.'s identity & history cuz ur unhappy & U see Choctaws & envy them & ur envy turns 2 hate so U start lying that Choctaw aren't who they are, so U can steal Choctaw identity & history & God hates that. Only the ones that don't protect their heritage, pass down the fundamentals and techniques, then in order to keep up with progress one must detach from tradition, in order for a culture to flourish it needs to evolve, not only maintain.
All over the world traditions are kept and integrate themselves with contemporary society.
A great example of this is the Oktober festivals, back then not many people attended to them, now the young generations are attracted to it, increasing the volume of the festival and aiding the culture. Not to mention they dress the part, aswell.

Small family farms that sell to the city farmers markets are what will make both city and county life great again. People while single may want to live in a large city, when they decide to put family above career, they may go to rural, not corporate family farms, more like seven acre's and a mule. Workfare no welfare, pride in home ownership not transient subsidized housing. Hot tamale's sound wonderful, somehow processing non GMO corn with Ash, traditionally did not cause natives to be diabetic. That sacred cooking is not microwave, but slow cooking with non processed ingredients. We will return to healthy small town farming again and rely on made in America minimally processed goods, not international food products with a in natural chemically enhanced shelf life.

How do I get to heaven? Will my good deeds be measured against my bad deeds? Do I need to be a good person to go to heaven? How do I know if I'm good enough?
Well the bible says no man is good, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So how do we get to heaven? Answer: By believing on Jesus Christ who took the punishment for our sin on the cross. There are no amount of good works we can do to achieve salvation because salvation is a free gift of God. We need to humble ourselves, realize we are sinners and that we need a savior.
    John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
