I have high thorny bushes that make long sleeve denim a necessity, one time passing through them and having them snag the arms at speed learns you real quick 😉
I bought a brush cutting blade for my weed eater but seeing that you can rent these I may go this route. Just moved to a new house and one side where my tree line starts is a lot of brush. Definately waiting until fall season so i can have a better assesment without all the leaves and crap. Also the cooler weather and bugs will not play a factor
I'd LOVE to find one of those Billy Goat brush mowers dead or alive for $250!! There's one I see on Craig's List used locally but taken care of for $2750 obo. So if you're buying new or like what we see here in the Seattle market at least they're holding their value...
I agree 100%. About to buy a DR Pro 26 for 2399, it’s not terrible, a rental place by me has them for 100 a day. That’s only 24 days, I’ll get way more use out of it than that
If you could I would do the clearing in the winter when the wasp and snakes are not around. Not like running into yellow jackets or a nest of big red wasp in the bushes, lol. I love mine, but yes it will work you too, wouldn't mind having a pull behind mower for my. Four-wheeler also
@@paleskinoutdoors385 yes, I actually take over the property in less then 60 DAYS AND I TOLD MY WIFE I WANTED TO RENT THE MACHINE AND GET IT DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, I'M RETIRED military I HAVE NOTHING BUT TIME,HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT SHOULD TAKE TO MULCH 2 ACRES IF I CUT DAILY ,I WAS GONNA RENT IT FOR 7 DAYS

I want to thank you for not editing the video. About 4 other videos from other people just edit going over tall shrubs and small trees...you just plowed through it. thanks!
I maintain 3 dams for a HOA, a couple of them are steep. Do you think that a machine like this would do well on the inclines? I know that Billy Goat makes an articulated one that swivels in the middle.
This one climbs well with the tires it has on it, does pretty good going sideways and not sliding down. Not sure how step the incline is where you are mowing. Best thing I would do is rent one from Home Depot and try it out and see before purchasing one
@@paleskinoutdoors385 You know, I was weed whacking the next day and realized “there could be a rattlesnake up here … then I realized you had the gun. I live in S. Oregon, so up in the trails one needs to be careful. But my dad grew up in Arkansas, and he said the snakes there mean business!
Yeah I had to wire the engine up and get controls out on. They had tried to swap out engines and couldn't get it finished. If I'm not mistaken they came with a 13 hp pull start, it's now got a 17.5 hp electric start engine
It will, good thing is it's belt driven blade so if there is a rock or metal it won't damage spindle, well at least I haven't. Had 3 forward speeds and reverse. It goes where a bushhog can't get, it's work, but gets it done
How does it work with ivy? I was concerned that the vines would cause the machine to get clogged at the blades. Also, we have a lot of rocks throughout our property, which are hard to see in the grown-up weeds. Although obviously we'd be careful, but how much can this goat take? In the video, it just looked like the land was just tall weeds. I didn't see any rocks. Last, is it hard to handle on the side of a hill, like at a ditch? Thank you! Our land is horrible, and I need any help I can get!
The vines may wrap around the tires some, but you can back up and clear them, never had any stop the engine. The blade is belt driven so if you hit something hard like a rock it will slip and all you have to do is push down on the handle to lift it. I don’t worry about rocks or stumps just snakes, bees, and wasp, lol

Sometimes you can get lucky, ask some of the rental places if they have one with a bad engine. I had to wire up the engine when I got this one
I would try the Billy goat with a test strip
Nice video, I'm looking to use one of these real soon on a job that I'm bidding for, we'll see how it goes 🙏🤞
pro trick: you can watch series at kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

Wonder how it'll do cutting up muscadine Vines 2-3 inches thick.
Hey if you're gonna take a walk out back, may as we'll be behind a brush cutter.
Nice!
This is the first time

will this level vines and the tangled mess under the brush? how low does it cut?
I cut Vines and saplings all the time. Not 100% sure but I think it cuts down to 3 or 4 inches

It is not easy to use this mower to cut brush...
It will work you for sure , but is better than spraying or trying to cut by hand

To me it would be, cheaper than a tractor and can get into tight places. Better to use in cooler months though, lol
