My father, who's now passed away, would have given his soul to visit this place. I would give a lot to get a chance to be with him again and see him excited for hours talking about cars and his youth. I miss you dad.
I highly recommend it.
It’s amazing.
I should have actually taken more time inside.
Nice comment pal. You should try to make it to this museum once this pandemic is over. Bring something of your fathers with you so that he is there every step of the way! Take care
T_T
I also had nothing at all in common with my dad except our love of cars. When he died, I said "Good riddance", but then whenever I drive my Lambo or Monteverdi I think "He would have really loved this thing"
@@stanleymasterson1135 Lol... you just wanted to say that you have a Lambo. Not blaming you, i would do the same.
Love the early US RIGHT HAND drive Cadillac. The Petersen Museum is an unbelievable tour when in LA. The vault admission price is a little more to attend and well worth it.
"We have several Fords." Understatement of the year
"I could go on and on..."
Oh please do!
SO many rare cars. He walked right past that XR!
Car Masters (a Netflix Show, really entertaining) built one for the Peterson Automotive Museum from the original blueprints, maybe he didn't want to say that it was a modern "kit car"? I dunno, still gorgeous
Mortal Wombat the speed racer replica I believe was also a car done by Mark Towle 20+ years ago
@@coolcommiedrew5990 Indeed he did
@@MegaToniking 49:40 is that the xnr they made?
@@slipknotfan2217 exactly- the color matches and I don't think there even are 2 in the world in this condition, let alone in the Peterson
You could spend weeks in the vault and have a smile the whole time, just amazing.
This man took me on a historic trip with his stories, knowledge and information. Thank you for this. I love cars :’)
14:29
Me too
This was AWESOME. How you remember all the makes, years and stories is incredible! Thank you, thank you!
i think the same. You see the passion and love. Great tour
bugged out how youre like oh shit yea when he tells you about the car, nice trip down memory lane and such beautiful machines, my neighbor has a 68 benz ive been trying to get from him so that i can have a nice project car but they wont let it go, its sitting in the driveway getting beat up by all this bad weather, sitting on flats and rusted wheels 😢
My stepson and I visited the museum a few months ago in person we couldn’t afford to take the vault tour so we are both really enjoying these videos and hope to see it in person someday
Really? How much is such a tour?
How much was the tour?
@Jason Bouphasavanh damn
We had a guided tour in the vault.
Best museum experience ever.
@Jason Bouphasavanh Jeez, that's steep! And you can't even take photos there for that price... crazy! But yeah, probably still worth it, if you know what's there...
The Petersen is the best.
This is on my bucket list... . For now, stuck in South Africa... (sigh) Looks fantastic, will never get bored in there!
This needs to go viral, people need to see this
I am watching this video during Corona times - can’t do traveling but you helped me to make a great journey 😊👍
Happy to hear that!
@@PetersenMuseum and after seeing this and putting up with Covid restrictions, after this is over, will reverse my personal ban on LA (I hate big city traffic, Atlanta is bad enough) and come for a visit...the enclosed sidecar appears to be Watsonian, possibly an early Cambridge. I have the last version of that mounted on my 88 Harley FLHS. for over 100K miles...(bike has +230K),
Seems to be an odd time to do a journey, when the guy is showing cars for you.
It's total overload. Every car worthy of a deep dive video. Never enough of this trivial stuff.
Thank you for this virtual tour. Please only read to the end if you enjoy a true story of how when choosing cars can affect the trajectory of your career, and not being a brown cow following the herd. I'm a '67 Irish petrol head. My 1st car with I joined the military was a '82 850cc Mini (Mr Bean car 😅) Followed by 2 Alpha's, black Sprint cloverleaf + a twin round headlamps ferrari red Alpha Sud Ti. My career always included driving cars, limousines etc. In September '98 I had a black Lexus Ls400 which i used as part of the Pool cars used for President Bill & Hillarys visit to Limerick Ireland. On the morning on the drivers briefing a week or so before AF1 touched down at Shannon Airport, all us 100 + drivers were assembled for a briefing in a local hotel with the Secret Service forwarding security agents. Before the assembly started I had tried passing out business cards to all other drivers of the larger limo companies present, but being a lone sheep from the West of Ireland I didn't even appear on their radars, and my cards were dismissed into their back pockets without even a glance at my credentials. Suddenly, before we were called to attention, over the internal intercom was a request for the driver of car registration 1234 please make themselves known to the 2 agents out side the function room. The room went quite, all drivers were dressed in black suits + white shirts started looking around to see who was the owner. From the back row of the room I stood up, it was like the walk of shame to the side door exit, while listening to mummers some laughing saying things like "he looked dodgy when passing his business cards out & I bet they (SS) found something wrong with his background check etc. Upon exiting the room the large doors closing behind me. 2 agents asked was I the driver of car registration 1234, I said yes waiting to be escorted out for some issue I could not think of. I was then introduced to a very tall gentleman who identified himself as a special agent X.He said, while getting ready earlier that morning, his view from his 4th floor bedroom window was facing the secured parking compound of all the 100 + vehicles, cars etc.. to be used for the transport of agents, media etc before, during and after the presidents visit. He said while every black executive car was as polished as the one beside it, my car registration 1234 stood out ? He said why do you have a Lexus while everyone else has Mercedes ? I replied innocently, I use different cars for different purposes, Mercedes are very good but obvious, on this occasion where I assumed the passengers may require more descretion while availing of ample leg room, power etc. He replied he was also a big Lexus fan, and for similar reasons to mine, would I mind being his personal driver for the duration of the visit. Agent X was one of the top agents for security or Adare Manor. I was given a special lanyard and my car pass had access all areas. I was asked to go directly to the secure compound, retrieve my car, and park it outside the front door of all buildings hense forth while waiting fot agent X. The look on everyone's faces coming out after the briefing, seeing the lone sheep's car taking pole position. No doubt I became very popular afterwards. But my real story only starts now. On returning to my home town some weeks later, I was blessed to be chosen for a very prestigious city contract that having the that Lexus was a key factor. For the new millennium 2000 I wanted to have a special car to use for this contract. I looked at local dealerships approx May 1999 but nothing stood out. To cut a longer story shorter, I had to import (from Vardy Scotland) a custom design black E320 Cdi Avengard, cream napa leather etc with 16 custom extras. I was awarded a very special registration plate No. 1 to put on the car, the millennium 00-1 registration for my home town. I used that car (her) with pride for several years on that prestigious contract. Unfortunately like other businesses at the time I had to sell her. I believe she is in some barn shed waiting to be restored. Due to recent circumstances I'm unable to do it. However I hope there is someone who is really passionate about restoring a historical future vehicle + putting her into a warm garage / vault ... or warmer climate 😅, to be admired and respected for her build quility, history, + rare number plate . I'm not completely sure where she is, or state of restoration needed, but isn't that half the fun looking and hopefully finding her. I have pictures of her when new for anyone interested. GB.. Danny😎🌈
I aint reading all dat
Thanks for the guided tour, i have heard of this museum but never thought i would get to see any of it. This was great! Thanks for taking me through your vault!
Great tour for us in the bunker now, remember the Round Door Rolls when it was on the "Circus Tour" back in the mid 50"s, me thinks it was in white though and in pretty rough shape.
Lots of cool cars. Those Japanese cutom hot rods is very unique

I knew it!
That’s what I was looking @ while they were showing the shag mobile , I was like
“ is that The Magnum P.I. Ferrari?! “
So many beautiful cars! I got here from watching Jay Leno.
as someone who lives in the UK, I found this an awesome video to watch! thanks!
Huge Thank You from New Zealand. Really kind of you to share the collection this way, much appreciated. every good wish for your ongoing wellness. We're masking up again here with just one cluster.
That 1925 Rolls Royce Phantom is the most beautiful car I have ever seen.
this mans knowledge is amazing. i know its his job but still i could listen all day long.
I've died and gone to heaven!!! Wow!!! So many amazing cars, I could spend days in that vault. Just incredible!!
Most enjoyable.
Im in love with the red bentley ❤
If you like that red XNR 60's show car at 49:40, the last 2 episodes of Car Masters season 2 on Netflix shows the build.
2 Beautiful Orange Hotrods with the flames. 40:50 The Flames on the first car looks awesome
Waau Sir. Awesome stories. I am so grateful that you took the time to share the vault, Felt like I can die now.
Thank you so much for the video!
This was amazing. Thank you for helping save our sanity this weekend!
Great video. Fantastic knowledge 👌
Great video. Guy knows all this car stuff but probably forgets his anniversary day . personally if only I could absorb valuable knowledge as well as these car details.
Nice to get an extra tour of the shop at the end!
This is the best show on the web. Thank you so much for doing this. It's great with just the wee history blurb.
We did the vault tour last year & couldn’t recommend it highly enough to anyone with an interest in things automotive.......... I had my mind blown so many times that day & it was tremendous to be able to relive it here in my lounge room🤯 Thanks so much Petersens👌🏼🇦🇺
Murray Deeth bloody amazing isn’t it? I did it in 2018 and loved it.
Amazing.
Thank you Gentlemen. 🙏
What an incredible memory! Being able to remember all the details and stories of hundreds of cars is probably why Mr Williamson is the director!
It very generous of you to share the Vault to non-paying customers. I don’t know how you fit all this knowledge in your head. It an amazing collection. Thanks!
that Rolls Royce of Fred Astaire must had made some statement to wherever he needed to be IMO that’s just total Class
This was the best 1 hour 6 minutes of my life learned history of cars, bikes and amazing concept cars
My wife and I visited the vault last year. We had a great tour!!!!
A lot of beautiful cars, but the one that got my heart pumping was the 1986 Honda Civic SI. Knowing that an example of my favorite car I have ever known will be preserved for all time is reassuring indeed.
the civic huh, not the first ever ferrari or the senna, or the 928, guess you could’ve picked something worse though, like that ugly austin powers beetle 🤢
@@loucipher6839 Odd choice I know, but I would still take the Civic. I put 11,000 miles on mine one summer. Drove it from Washington to Alaska to Nevada and back home. It was so much fun!
It's amazing how they are all kept in showroom condition. Awesome!
Awesome !!! Thanks Dana and everyone at the Petersen museum !!! 😃
I love how there is lowriders. I am happy to see it.
All my friends know the low rider
The low rider is a little higher
Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer
Low rider knows every street, yeah
Low rider is the one to meet, yeah
Low rider don't use no gas now
Low rider don't drive too fast
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip and see
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip with me
love that tesler at the end!
I’ve never actually got around to tour the vault, this will substitute until I can see it in person.
Thanks for sharing!
The only reason I want to go to L.A. later this year is to go to the Peterson Auto Museum. Learned about you on the Car Masters show.
Thank you.
It is very important work that you do.
No words to express for the dedication your team has done. Incredible , awesome ,one of the best video on automobile ever seen.
THANKS.
Loved the Vault tour when I visited your museum two years ago. Thank you so much. #BeSafe 👍🏻
Our pleasure! Thank you for visiting!
this guys knowledge of the cars is impressive
Classy fellow giving the informative tour.
Can we just appreciate how fucking good the cameraman is? Like he didn't shake once in this whole 1 hour video
It's on a gimbal
Do you really have to curse?!?
I bet it smells great in there
Ok who else was suprised when that wasn’t a real vault door and he just popped it open
Yes. Rewinding and looking at the door you can clearly see it is a print. But we weren't looking at the door the first time.
zabnat Exactly
I thought they had some really big bank vault! What's inside is the real treasure!
Well done!!!!
No bank vault in the world would have more value than this one!
Excellent condition cars!
I was here as a kid back in 2000 good times
I am a big fan of some of the classic cars! I really hope to go to the museum one day. I'll make sure I come In my Corvette LS5

Thank you so much for doing this video!
Thank you very much! Had no idea. Wow. So much history.
A very impressive knowledge of all the vehicles. Thank you.
I’ve met John Force, and his daughter. They go to Night Under Fire here in Ohio at the Norwalk Raceway.
Very interesting and educational. If I could go to United States I would visit it
This video was amazing to watch - thank you for uploading
If you haven't heard of Casey Putsch you should hear what he has to say about PAM. Very interesting to say the least and that's all I'M going to say about that.
Yes, i have. He's incredibly ignorant of how 501c3 organizations work. They can't simply shuffle money between funds to cover costs. In fact, money raised for specific uses - like a museum expansion - by tax law has to be used for that purpose as it is dedicated money. The tax laws are very specific as to how money gets used, and 501c3 organizations are audited regularly. To be generous, Casey Putsch is talking out of his ass on the subject.
Or you could just enjoy the content.
@@buckhorncortez Yes that is beside the point, he was talking about the very very rich people that constitute the board of the Peterson museum..They can take out their wallets in moments like these or at least ask their very very rich friends to make a "donation" so people can get paid and don't lose their jobs..
But on the other hand Casey thinks he is the smartest person in the world, but seems a bit shy getting off his arse and proving it.
bryan ?? You on acid bro ??
Damn 1st Cadillac had the nicest grill of them all.
This just came through my feed now. What a treat. I've done the vault tour a few times. It's great because they rotate the cars. It's a little different every visit. Can't wait to drag my wife though it again next time I'm on the west coast. For me, it's a must see attraction. I'm gonna wear my Peterson's Automotive Museum hat for the rest of the weekend! Thanks from NY!
I always tell people to buy the vault tour when they go to Petersens. It’s better than the main floor.
know this guy didnt have public speaking when he went to college, awesome knowledge though and top notch collection
As a Car Guy i enjoyed this video While Wearing my Omega Speedmaster Racing this video just oozes with Coolness wish i got to see these beauties in person. 👍
It's like your children. You can't say you have a favorite, but you know you do. :)
IT IS GOOD INFORMATIVE PROGRAM
if i ever go to america, this will be on my bucket list of things to do.. love the collection and love the video!!
If we forget history, we are condemned to repeat it.
It is great to see respect for cars of all ages.
Uhhhh. Can I come help you take care of them? I could setup a little pup tent and be with them at all times, shining them! 😎
Thank you, absolutely fabulous! That slant front Rolls, my fave.
You’re knowledge of the cars is amazing
your*
I love the classic car collection, it's my top Fav.! Great tour!
My word these are some amazing vehicles...one day i wish to see them in person.

The Vault tours are always fantastic.

Fantastic! Can't wait to go there and personally see these great cars. Thank you!!!!
Great video, glad to hear about Steve McQueen's personal bike..
Now the image is CLEAR !!!! Thank you!!!
I dont know where to start, so I wont even try. Each car just so amazing with history, and SO very well preserved. Lets just say, if I'm ever the last man on the planet, I know where I'm calling home. Hmmm, what to drive today. 8-)
End of motorcycles: 7:36
Fantastic video - thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge in such a gentle style
Thank you very much for the tour for the people that can not make it there. It is a wonderful display of automotive time. The Petersen series of videos are wonderful...hopefully someday we will make it there. Once again Thanks ..!!
