In 1980 I flew out to L.A.X. to visit my brother and to buy a car to bring back to Illinois. In one of the Auto Trader papers were a couple of cars of interest, one of which was a Starsky & Hutch car. I don't know which one it was as you said there were six or seven cars built for the show. It was a well known fact that they beat the living snot out of the cars. The particular car that was listed had black California plates that read: 20 CENT I believe? It was listed at $2600.00! What a screaming deal! Alas, I bought a RoadRunner from up in Valencia. Always wondered who ended up with that car?

My favorite? Although I really liked the Monkees car, my favorite is the Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino. Something you could drive around in today and is still street legal and cool to drive. And a vehicle that a 60-something year old guy can still get in and out of without embarrassing himself.

Love that Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino! I remember seeing several of them during my.High.School days in the late 70s! In 1973, "safety bumpers" became mandatory on all new vehicles causing a dramatic change in the appearance of the Toronto line! Even the 1972 Torinos looked really coo!. Just don't hit anything! Virtually no.front or rear protection! The Torinos looked fantastic in either 2 or 4 door models! The interceptor versions were widely used by Police Departments and were absolutely the most awesome looking Police Cars ever! Back then, the Fairfax County, VA Police had the absolute coolest livery (paint job) for Cop.Cars in the world!

I've been to this museum and if you take the guided tour you'll be able to sit in a few movie/tv car replicas. These are the 1060s Batmobile(the one in the middle in "The Batcave"), Back to the Future DeLorean, Ecto 1, Brian's Eclipse from The Fast and The Furious(1).
Yes the "skinny Batmobile" from the Batman Returns alley scene is screen used. They only built one. I told the tour guide I was surprised they shot that scene with a full size "vehicle" and not a miniature. If I remember correctly out of the 2 "Keaton Batmobiles" the closed one is from Batman Returns and the open one is a replica

The old Striped Tomato, the only car that can screech the tires on dirt, can sound as if it is accelerating through second and third gear not only that it's an automatic car but with the brake lights on. The greatest miracle of all was that after those landings front end heavy landings that would make the car buckle so bad that the hood would break the windshield, it would heal itself and drive away.

They only used 2 cars during shooting of mad max 1&2. The interceptor in the museum is the original one used in both movies. The second stunt interceptor which rolled over in The Road Warrior is currently in The Mad Max museum in Australia.

Most use to be in the cars of the stars. He sold a lot of the replicas (the James Dean porsche being one) to concentrate on screen used.
The mad max falcon is the only screen used one, it was altered after mad max to the car you see in mad max 2.
Also the KITTs... The t top was screen used and given to the Hoff after filming ended, and the convertible was te only full car made, the one you see converting is a shell on a trailer.
I use to visit Peter Nelson museums often and got to know the history of the cars quite well.
Ive even sat in the screen used Keaton batmobile!! BTW the batmissle car, where it stripes down is a mick up, in the film it was a scalled down miniature 😊

The original Batman car was a Lincoln Premier factory show car. George Barris just modified it and changed the color from white to black.

So the last „Batmobile“ was surely Not in Batman.Looks like a Messeschmitt Tiger modified For fun.A great Fun to drive with no reverse Gear .You have to start the 2Stroke Engine the opposite Direction so you have 4 Gears forward or backwards depending which direction thé engine turns and the Steering Wheel is from a small Plane!

You mentioned that the bat bike screen used , Had a brake lever and throttle on the hack , That tells me that the hack controlled the throttle and the brake and not the upright were batman Would sit. What do you think ?

I think those were just used for the shot when Robin separated from the bat bike. So he could control it after separation. 👍

Not a sunroof… a Targa on Tom Sellecks Magnum P.I. Ferrari … yes, he was too tall!! Most Ferrari’s are handbuilt to the specs of the buyer,(meaning, they used to come n measure you, like for a custom suit).

Hello. Sorry but I must point at the fact that you didn't talk about the Speed Racer's "Mach 5" nor the "Herbie" VW Beetle.
It's there any reason for that?
