I played a regular Kala U-Bass before, the strings are like rubber, such a cool little bass with a big sound.
Thinking of buying - love the tone.
I love the sound of that bass!
The shiny black strings sound really nice but they only last a few days before the frets start carving into the underside of them, and that makes the intonation irredeemably wonky. There are other strings that last longer, but none of them have that sweet sound. It's a pain.
