I studied German for 6 months aged 11. Ms Carty was my teacher. Then I moved schools. And it stopped. Shame.
So I did French and Spanish. But German buddies and former colleagues have shown me ways of expressing things so humorously that I've got the bug to absorb another language. Now at 50 my guess is that this method is perfect fur me. I'd like to see how many days it would take me to sound authentic/native/correctly.

I am going to start German lessons soon and I wish to start speaking already after level 1
Da hat's ganz andere deutsche Begriffe, die aussprachemäßig nach meinem Dafürhalten weitaus schwieriger sind. Als ich mich seinerzeit anschickte, mir die deutsche Sprache anzueignen, machte mir das Wort "Drogerie" unsägliche Schwierigkeiten, aus welchen Gründen auch immer. Wochenlang bin ich das Wort übend umhergelaufen, bis ich es endlich richtig konnte. Tja, Übung macht den Meister, usw.
Was ich empfehlen würde, ist die Begriffe, die man lernen will unbedingt laut oder leise auszusprechen. Der Grund dafür ist, dass es, logischerweise, Fremdwörter sind, die aber auch ganz andere und teiweise ungewohnte Mundbewegungen erforderlich machen, um die Aussprache einigermaßen korrekt hinzukriegen, und das muss geübt werden.
Wie mit anderen Fremdsprachen auch ist konstante Übung vonnöten, wenn man Deutsch lernen will. Ich unterrichte Fremdsprachen und meine dringendste Empfehlung ist immer; nicht verzagen! Auch wenn man das Gefühl hat, nichts oder nur wenig bei einer Lektion gelernt zu haben, nicht aufgeben, sondern immer weiter machen. So ist es dann praktisch unmöglich, dass man "weniger" lernen kann. Das geht im Fall doch gar nicht. Und siehe da, plötzlich leuchtet es einem ein.
Aber dass man Deutsch in 20 Minuten Abschnitten lernen kann, halte ich für ein Gerücht. Deutsch ist eine derart komplizierte Sprache, dass man sie nur mit vollem Einsatz (und ständiger Übung) meistern kann. Da muss man sich richtig hineinknien, um den gewünschten Erfolg zu ernten.
Und abschließend: Wenn ich beim Deutschlernen richtig am Verzweifeln war, habe ich mir immer das Folgende gesagt: "Es gibt ungefähr 150 million deutsche Muttersprachler auf der Welt und die haben alle die Sprache gelernt. Es liegt auf der Hand und ist völlig logisch, dass ein paar von den Arschlöchern viel blöder sind als ich, aber die haben es geschafft!" Das hat mich immer wieder aufgebaut.

Thanks for the video. It would be nice if each of word can be repeated twice or three times. Even better, if it can be once with normal speed, once slower and once again with normal speed.

yes agree, it'd be nice to repeat the word and especially the whole sentence slowly & few times, and cut down on the to stories in English...no offence meant, it's nice to hear the little stories but too much time being spent on speaking English slowly..

I’m learning Japanese at the moment and I wanted to learn German next but I think I’ll settle with Italian instead since German pronunciation is totally out of my natural ability...
David, its taken me 8 mths to be able to get an occassional pass on the word "ich"(the word for I) on Duolingo and the pf sound, I cant do that one well either.. and forget the rolled R sounds, there are other german sounds too I can not pronounce. I cant even tell the difference between some of them.
