Modern target bows are expensive becaus ethey are made in low numbers and because people accept to pay premium for shiny things, but you're not buying accuracy nor talent.
I have a big problem with drawing big weight. I’m at 60 pounds and I’m having to really ream on it to get it back. I have those jumps all the time on my Phase 4, where I’m not in the wall and the string just jumps forward. It’s always super embarrassing for me, but it’s awesome to see someone as professional as you own it. It takes an, in my opinion, enormous amount of self respect to not cut that out and show you’re human just like all of us. You are the definition of just a down to earth guy who loves archery.

I been saying for a while already, mattews is far better when making things aesthetically appealing( nothing wrong with that), but even far better at advertising. No one comes even close, coming from a mattews guy😎. Sadly for them I switched; it’s not the bow people, practice as much as you can with what you have. If you do, you will be pretty impressed with your self.😎😎😎
It is basically a bowtech mathews bow with the features of their newest hunting bows. But It is and looks really cool. I would definitely buy the bowtech though. The tunability and shootability is better.

Mathews is actually reducing the number of customers in the market space that will be interested in their products. They have clearly made a corporate decision to take their products and cost structure the direction of appealing to the very upper end of the market space. That is fine, they have every right to do that. If you have a V3X or Phase 4 - it will hold it's resale value tremendously as from some of what MFJJ says here they are going to really raise the price of their hunting bows too.

There hunting bows are actually mid range priced for flag ship they have jumped up in price but so has every other company there map price is pretty high but what dealers actually sell them for is normally cheaper than hoyt pse

Going to TAC is like a family summer vacation in terms of cost for most families. It is the other 98% of archers that are excluded and not going to keep chasing these prices.

@@GarrettOutdoors I upgraded from a few year old budget bowtech. I don’t think it’s head and shoulders over the other top bows but I don’t think the rubber in the limbs is a weak point and I do think the phase 4 is one of the best and quietest bows out.
Yeah, I get that. But I bet a lot of people said the same thing when compound went from solid limb to split limb, now every bow uses split limbs. If two individual limbs are reliable, then four shouldn't really be any less reliable
If they relase an Atlas with the new features and new riser, one extra inch axle to axle and 1/2" less minimum DL I'll buy. Specially if they recover the stone color. Being said that, in therms of adjustability most of brands trample Mathews. But I like a lot how they look with the paralel limbs (this one not that much).
They will have 100 people complain but it won’t affect them, like every other bow manufacture. I know my shop took atleast 20 orders today for the bow and they’re a smaller shop Mine will be here in 2-4 weeks hopefully 🤞🏼 I’d bet they sold a 500-1000 just today

From what I gather, the mods allow you to change the weight but maintain peak efficiency from the limbs, so you could drop the weight down to 50#, but the limb will still load as much energy as it can. You can still turn the bolt to drop the weight, but the bow isn't going to have that tight feel of being fully wound in.

It costs just under 2900 CAD which is about 200 CAD more than the Hoyt Stratos. I think it looks great, has great technology. i worry you have to stock soooooooo many mods for each bow, depending on who buys it. It seems you must take all the risk and not Mathews. Hardly seems fair.

Bow is estimated to be around 2,8k Euro over here in Europe. And draw length specific modules for every 1/2 inch? This thing will sell itself, for sure! I don't know the exact price you get them from Mathews, but stocking all the modules will cost a shop a minimum of $10k. How much bows do you have to sell just to get even with that?
The UK distributer has them listed at £1495 = approx 1730 Euro. Cheaper than the Stratos and Reckoning G2, which seems a great deal.... or, more likely, we are being ripped off on the others :)
Mathews needs to figure out marketing a little better. Granted this is a target setup. I assume they will be loosing a target share of their blue collar and more fiscally responsible individuals. Not taking away that’s sexy and they make stellar products. I’d assume bowtech and hoyt will follow.
Is it really innovation? Or just change and gadgetry? Change for the sake of change isn’t all that great an idea. What they currently have is a great platform which they improve year over year meaning bow shops can actually support several years of bows with minimal parts inventory. Most other industries use this business model, look at cars for instance, they don’t completely reinvent each model each year because it doesn’t make sense to do so….why do you want/expect archery companies to reinvent each model year to year? It makes no sense, “obviously”.

Reflex dictates the amount of pressure it takes you to torque the bow with your hand. The more reflex the less pressure it takes to torque it. Less reflex means less torque.
I literally get in arguments all the time proving Mathew’s and Hoyts are worth the money but at this point you all win on Mathew’s they are out of there mind at this point!
So has anyone done the math in how many mods a shop would need to stock to cover every single option of DL/DW/let off? Maybe I misunderstand how the switch weight mods work and I'm no math for whiz, but I'm coming up with 195. ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE DIFFERENT MODS.
No, looks more like the Reckoning with the Phase 4 limbs. Usually Mathews uses paralel/post paralel limbs; teh geometry in those ones remind the ones from Bowtech or PSE.
Greed and envy... Matthews knows how to play the game. Sad the way the industry is going... I think I'll stick to buying 2-3 year old flagships off ebay.

Well that's a huge disappointment for me always liked mathews target bows cause they went down to 23.5 dl and up and at a 24 dl that's me out of the picture will have to stick with my trx34 for a while longer
The TRX lineup is everybit as good as these I imagine. Its literally the same tech. A mod system and top hats... Maybe the new one feels different, but feeling is all opinion. I am sure many people will like the TRX feel more. The switchweight is really nice though... aside from that, 8 limb design is silly IMO, proprietary gadgets are useless to me. So what does if offer over the TRX? not a whole lot. You wont shoot any better I can promise you that. Right now, bowtech and elite are on the cutting edge of new technology. Bowtech hit it out of the park. I dont know where else they can go from here... maybe a new riser. OH man, if bowtech made a more paralell limb design with their tech, I would be all over it. The reckoning is a beast, but i cant say im in love with their looks. The TRX is a far nicer looking bow than the reckoning. My dad has the new elite verdict and it tunes like a charm, shoots awesome... and its adjustable... and its just as fast as my TRX... mathews claiming they need to use mods to keep efficiency up is just a bunch of noise. I had a PSE perform x... adjustable draw length and let off.... and it shot 10 FPS faster than my TRX at the same specs... Adjustable cams can be just as fast, and even faster than the mod system. Once you find your desired mod, then it doesnt matter.... luckily I knew I wanted a 28" , 75% mod right away For my 38G2

They're draw length mods are usually 1'' longer than actual length, so, if your 28'' you'll probably need a 27'' mod. The bow and stabilizers look cartoonish, also i noticed the bow wants to jump out on the back wall, i hate jumpy bows.
@@michaelcolthart4006 I will 2nd that... usually between 3/8" and 5/8'" .... you can twist the strings to fine tune it to your desired length. My 28" TRX mods run about 28 3/8"

It’s a target bow, that’s been common for some companies to throw that out early.

Reflex dictates the amount of pressure it takes you to torque the bow with your hand. The more reflex the less pressure it takes to torque it. Less reflex means less torque.

I literally get in arguments all the time proving Mathew’s and Hoyts are worth the money but at this point you all win on Mathew’s they are out of there mind at this point!
So has anyone done the math in how many mods a shop would need to stock to cover every single option of DL/DW/let off? Maybe I misunderstand how the switch weight mods work and I'm no math for whiz, but I'm coming up with 195. ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE DIFFERENT MODS.

No, looks more like the Reckoning with the Phase 4 limbs. Usually Mathews uses paralel/post paralel limbs; teh geometry in those ones remind the ones from Bowtech or PSE.

@@raphael6488 innovation is minimal year over year and prices go up like 20%. Not to mention, all of the “innovation” is in accessories that cost 300% more than the competition. People like to shoot the most expensive stuff because.. well.. it’s expensive and causes envy. Just a shame that they aren’t coming out with bows that are priced fairly what they are.

Well that's a huge disappointment for me always liked mathews target bows cause they went down to 23.5 dl and up and at a 24 dl that's me out of the picture will have to stick with my trx34 for a while longer
The TRX lineup is everybit as good as these I imagine. Its literally the same tech. A mod system and top hats... Maybe the new one feels different, but feeling is all opinion. I am sure many people will like the TRX feel more. The switchweight is really nice though... aside from that, 8 limb design is silly IMO, proprietary gadgets are useless to me. So what does if offer over the TRX? not a whole lot. You wont shoot any better I can promise you that. Right now, bowtech and elite are on the cutting edge of new technology. Bowtech hit it out of the park. I dont know where else they can go from here... maybe a new riser. OH man, if bowtech made a more paralell limb design with their tech, I would be all over it. The reckoning is a beast, but i cant say im in love with their looks. The TRX is a far nicer looking bow than the reckoning. My dad has the new elite verdict and it tunes like a charm, shoots awesome... and its adjustable... and its just as fast as my TRX... mathews claiming they need to use mods to keep efficiency up is just a bunch of noise. I had a PSE perform x... adjustable draw length and let off.... and it shot 10 FPS faster than my TRX at the same specs... Adjustable cams can be just as fast, and even faster than the mod system. Once you find your desired mod, then it doesnt matter.... luckily I knew I wanted a 28" , 75% mod right away For my 38G2

They're draw length mods are usually 1'' longer than actual length, so, if your 28'' you'll probably need a 27'' mod. The bow and stabilizers look cartoonish, also i noticed the bow wants to jump out on the back wall, i hate jumpy bows.

@@michaelcolthart4006 I will 2nd that... usually between 3/8" and 5/8'" .... you can twist the strings to fine tune it to your desired length. My 28" TRX mods run about 28 3/8"
