Well presented, great video. I am both a huge Omega and an F1 Fan, they should be in the paddock and I think the Aston Martin/Bond connection should be the way to go. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! :) I do agree the Aston/Bond connection could be a winner, and the might of Swatch group could probably buy out GPs remaining sponsorship, AND with this year’s good start they could get some great publicity - the challenge though is how to get that RM off Alonso’s wrist 😂
I did not know about the speedmaster legend but for what Schumacher meant in my life (more than a superhero really) I would highly buy that one! Omega into sports? Aren't they into some sailing?
For sailing they're in the America's Cup sponsoring Emirates Team New Zealand, and of course they're the official timekeeper for the olympics, as well as a few other sports sponsorship - but no F1 presence (as far as I know) since Schumacher
In a word - no. Why? 1. Getting into F1 will highlight they are long way behind Rolex - better to get into a decent sport you can dominate (like rolex does) creating a wall of red "Omega". 2. Building your presence in a sport and having that stick requires years of constant work - given the ban on sales of petrol engines and what that means for F1 I wouldnt recommend getting into that sport now. I'd rather they through rolex money at formula E and create the same wall of red and dominate the sport
I think for omega to become a credible brand for me, they should leave Swatch group. Maybe become completely independent or at the very least become part of Richemont. But as a Swatch subsidiary, they're no option for me.
It would definitely be interesting to see what an independent Omega would look like, though unfortunately it’s unlikely Swatch would ever let them go since they’re one of Swatch’s top performers. Something like what happened with Ulysse Nardin/Girard Perregaux leaving Kering was only possible because they weren’t selling very well and Kering was already focusing more on their fashion brands - but it never hurts to dream :) Personally I’d like to see Blancpain or Breguet go independent since those aren’t getting as much of Swatch’s attention (aside from the new Swatch x Blancpain which wasn’t really a huge success)

it's a pretty broad range, going from €4,300 up to €6,500 depending on condition, dial color and where the watch is being sold

Two very fair points, and definitely Formula E would be a good investment for the long term with the "wall of red" approach 👍

@Ossory88 silly mantra from typical rolex reserlers. Swatch is VERY GOOD for Omega. Like a VAG is very good for Lambo \ Porsche. Etc.
