I don't understand why a 4wd truck owner would want large diameter rims and low profile "offroad" tires. A parking lot is as far offroad as they need to take those things.

I agree. They look good except for the wheels. But thats just my opinion. I do like the diesel engines though. 15 inch wheel with 44 boggers would be a better look imho.
I had 75 Chevy 4by4 3/4 ton it was beast in the 80s I use to fill up another 75 Chevy 12 foot steak bed duel wheel with roofing and tow it to the dump with an a frame trailer hitch bolted to the front bumper.

Other than the very few classic style Chevys that have the steel wheels with chrome rings all I ever see is “alloy” wheels on any custom or resto. My 89 K5 has the factory alloys they are in the garage and I put on 18x12 alloys. Unless you’re talking about say 24” wheels on 33” tires then yes I agree that’s a shit look.

I love the sound of a big cam" but I am a little confused about people running them in a 4×4 (daily driver) because of their having less torque & horsepower down low. By the time they have more torque and horsepower then a mild cam, I'm already going faster than I should be in a 9" lift truck with 80lb tires. And if I run one of those awesome Lopey cams I'm going to need a stall 3000ish, And I cant creap with a big stall. I guess people are just making a littel sacrifice for that killer sound? Man I wish MY truck sounded like that! But for me, I think I'd rather put that in a 2-wheel drive truck, lower it, make it as light as possible, it wouldn't just sound fast, after 5000 when it really comes alive, it would be like born with DD's instead of toilet paper in the bra.

paulgraham pgpg so what is the " thing " that makes a chev truck better than a ford truck or a dodge truck? Do you know ? If you get down to it they are frame rails , a 90 degree v8 with roughly the same displacement, bore and stroke . roughly the same heads ( save a few changes ...dodge being the better flowing ) , some sheet metal ( the styles are pretty close to each other, save for some different angles here, a radius there )....... The chev and dodge of that era both are solid axled front and rear while the ford uses a independent front suspension..... So what is it that makes the chev better? Is it the fact that it takes more brain power to eat French fries than it does to repair any issue with a chev? Is it the fact that the small block Chevy changed how engines were and are ? Is it that a chev is cheapest of all the manufactures on cost to produce yet they still manage to ass rape there techs and not pay them? Maybe its that compared to the quality of ford and dodge( who am I kidding, dodge in the late eighties was the automotive equivalent of prostate cancer ) chev would be socialist Russia and ford is merica ! What's your take on it , captain rocket surgeon ?

Its frame is fully boxed front to back !!! The fucking thing weighs seven thousand pounds and can go 0-60 in seven seconds!!!! Its closer to a sports car than anything. I asked these boys " does your truck still ride rough if you were to say put a.....bobcat bucket in the bed? Or maybe some tools and or loads of sheet rock.....or ( out on a limb ) like 600 lbs of landscaping rock? I got this back from them...." Are you crazy?!? I'm not doing any of that! I don't even own a boat, I just wanted something that sat high and had a rumbly engine" I also got this once ..." Yeah I'd like you guys to buy back my truck because it doesn't ride as good or is as fast as my Porsche Cayenne I traded in for this , I mean this half ton truck has a 6.2 v8 but it isn't very fast" ....I almost throat punched that bearded douch !!!
