People who consider entertaining to be primarily dancing are missing the boat. Whitney didn't need a lot of stage production because her delivery of a song was in itself very entertaining. I grew up during the 80s & 90s...and was a fan of all 4 women, i.e., Dunk, Madge, Nippy, & Mimi. I liked Dunk because, like her brother, The King of Pop, she's a PHENOMENAL performer! I encourage people to watch Dunk's music video for the song "The Pleasure Principle". The official VEVO version of the video can be found here on CZcams. In the video, Dunk does the entire video solo, no backup dancers needed, and it's absolutely incredible. It's the best music video I have EVER seen, well, maybe it's tied with her brother's "Smooth Criminal" video! I liked Madge because of her catchy tunes and her edginess/rebellious knack for breaking the rules! I was young then, so rule-breaking was fun! Overall, though, Madge had some GREAT tunes, particularly during the earlier years of her music career. Madge's 80s music could contribute to a definitive "soundtrack for the 80s", along with Dunk & Nippy's music. I liked Nippy & Mimi for their voices. It's wonderful when a pop singer can actually SING, and both Nippy & Mimi did that well. Nippy & Mimi also had great tunes to go along with their voices, so that results in music that can stand the test of time. Nippy & Mimi were "singers" in the classic sense, while Dunk & Madge were more "Performance Artists". I feel Dunk was by far the best female performance artist/dancer and put on the best concerts, just like her big brother MJ...and Nippy had the best voice, the greatest VOICE ever, but I like all 4 women pretty equally for the most part. I guess I'm the only one who likes all 4 women. It seems that many people in these comments section usually like one over the other...and as a consequence, you have these opposing camps that hate each other. There's a lot of snarkiness and shade-throwing amongst the different camps. In hindsight, she was absolutely right in what she was saying. She was trying to get across that the numbers and hits didn’t really matter in the grander scheme because of all of them she was the only one who had complete control of her image and art. And she could be and do whatever she wanted without putting her career in danger because it was built off of being her authentic self. We see that none of this was the case for the others. We all know that she is not that bountiful when it comes to vocal, but she can be vocal and provocative, effectively experimenting and incorporating her commentary with pressing issues. People who consider entertaining to be primarily dancing are missing the boat. Whitney didn't need a lot of stage production because her delivery of a song was in itself very entertaining. She interpreted songs differently in every performance and her stage presence was solid. You never wanted to take your eyes off her while she was on stage. .

I grew up during the 80s & 90s...and was a fan of all 4 women, i.e., Dunk, Madge, Nippy, & Mimi. I liked Dunk because, like her brother, The King of Pop, she's a PHENOMENAL performer! I encourage people to watch Dunk's music video for the song "The Pleasure Principle". The official VEVO version of the video can be found here on CZcams. In the video, Dunk does the entire video solo, no backup dancers needed, and it's absolutely incredible. It's the best music video I have EVER seen, well, maybe it's tied with her brother's "Smooth Criminal" video! I liked Madge because of her catchy tunes and her edginess/rebellious knack for breaking the rules! I was young then, so rule-breaking was fun! Overall, though, Madge had some GREAT tunes, particularly during the earlier years of her music career. Madge's 80s music could contribute to a definitive "soundtrack for the 80s", along with Dunk & Nippy's music. I liked Nippy & Mimi for their voices. It's wonderful when a pop singer can actually SING, and both Nippy & Mimi did that well. Nippy & Mimi also had great tunes to go along with their voices, so that results in music that can stand the test of time. Nippy & Mimi were "singers" in the classic sense, while Dunk & Madge were more "Performance Artists". I feel Dunk was by far the best female performance artist/dancer and put on the best concerts, just like her big brother MJ...and Nippy had the best voice, the greatest VOICE ever, but I like all 4 women pretty equally for the most part. I guess I'm the only one who likes all 4 women. It seems that many people in these comments section usually like one over the other...and as a consequence, you have these opposing camps that hate each other. There's a lot of snarkiness and shade-throwing amongst the different camps. Madge & Dunk camps don't like each other, or Nippy & Mimi camps don't like each other, etc. It's hilarious to see the fans fighting one another in these comments sections. I ALWAYS get a good laugh out of that!!

She was trying to get across that the numbers and hits didn’t really matter in the grander scheme because of all of them she was the only one who had complete control of her image and art. If you paid any attention you would have noticed that Janet wasn't singing. She doesn't sing and when she does no one can hear her. She's best known for her dancing but she was taught that by Paula Abdul. Whitney on the other hand, she didn't need a microphone. Her voice was so strong and powerful it was shocking. People saying Madonna can't do what they did but what they did was mediocre and boring. They just stand there and sing ballads or they dance and mime.

Janet was an amazing dancer ever since she was on the Jacksons variety show when she was little, she did a Japanese commercial when she was a teenager, and killed her brother's moonwalk, this was before she ever met Paula. Second, Janet is a great singer, she has a graceful, angelic, and amazing voice, she sounds amazing in her ballads like Again, Come back to me, and Special. She did a song called I know the truth with Elton John and you just might be shocked at how great of a singer Janet really is. And she sings live 95% of the time during her shows, Janet can damn well sing, she has a great voice. She is also the Queen of Harmonies, her amazing vocal harmonies have been praised by the likes of Brandy, considered by many as the vocal bible. She is also an amazing actress, an amazing and socially conscious songwriter, co writes and co produces every SINGLE one of her songs, Janet does it all. Yes, Janet, Whitney, and Mariah can't do what Madonna can't do what she can do, but she can't do anything they can either. None of them can do what each other can do, because they are all legends.

And nobody can do or has done what she has done! Madonna literally paved the way for women who do what she does. One could argue Cher first, but Cher is a different artist. Musically she pales next to Madonna. As for the Whitney Mariah combo, they're not performers or culture shakers. They're singers. One trick ponies. Madonna knew resting on one talent was never going to sustain a long fulfilling career and as a woman trained in the art of dance and playing instruments, she realised long ago her biggest talent was her brain. Trolls from the camps of these other ladies can drag Madonna for everything, but none of their faves can ever outsmart or out perform Madonna. And we're talking global. Too many US citizens come on social media bleating about Mariahs stats... and yet fail to understand in the rest of the world, she's not that successful. Whitney more so, but nowhere near Madonna's level. She's had major success in every territory with multiple projects outside of music. She is quite simply the biggest selling most successful female recording and touring artist of all time and she did it without a family name behind her, or a husband who just so happened to be the head of a major record deal who also happened to own many radio stations.
