I was 11 years old in 83 and both Cyndi AND Madonna were THE BOMB. I have multiple albums by both and have seen both in concert and not once did I ever feel the need to peg them against each other. They both represent powerful women and I have ultimate respect for both. Like Cyndi said, there's room for everyone in this big world.

Songs like True Colors, My First Night Without You, I Drove All Night etc really showcase her vocal prowess, more so than She Bop for sure! Anyway I wasn’t criticising anyone, like I said I admire both Cyndi and Madonna, I just think Cyndi is a more proficient vocalist, and ultimately a more modest and nicer person.
Tim Good Vocal range is important, but I place a lot of emphasis on enunciation. Madonna never had a problem being understood when it came to her song lyrics.

Pure class. How can you not love Cindi? Went to her concert last year at the Hollywood Bowl. I think Cyndi handled it with such class about Madonna, I love them both & have been such HUGE HUGE fans of both since day 1 & I've seen them both in concert many times & they're both amazing Live, I've seen Cyndi Live 5x's & I've seen Madonna Live 10 X's Out of her 11 Tours (The ONLY Madonna Tour I missed was her very 1st Tour "The Virgin Tour 1985") & AGAIN Both of these ladies are so extremely Talented & They both put on such amazing show live.
