Still resent not being allowed to play DnD as a kid. Thirty years later the trembling baptist hoard is as bad as ever, but I had escaped and fled a thousand miles away at 17 yrs. Best move I ever made. Raised my kids without religion and they’re now rational, caring adults with a solid sense of moral integrity.

I got all the hardbound AD&D books, and found _not one_ real spell, nor how to contact the secret AD&D temples that Jack Chick promised. Very disappointed.
We came home from church after an evangelist preached against rock music. My mom played my records backwards trying to hear if it was touting Satan and then smashed them all to be safe.
Hah! DnD caused much controversy in Alabama in the 80's amongst both the Baptists and the Catholics! Still managed to play with an excellent group at school. We had a teacher with a sense of humor and a willingness to defy The Man. Very good times in spite of it all.
Lucien is such a gracious, intelligent and thoughtful person. We are certainly fortunate to have him at the forefront of church/state battles!

I have to give my apologies to the Satanists. For a while even after becoming an Atheist, I thought Satanists were even bigger idiots than the Christians I'd worked my way out of being, thinking you guys were worshiping an absolutely terrible, immoral monster. Then I eventually listened to one of Seth's earlier videos about Satanism with Lucien and realized you were just, as I put it, Halloween-Town/theatrical atheists. Then later on I found out that Satan in the bible really doesn't do anything evil, aside from when God made a bet with him to torment Job, which is still an incredibly low bar compared to God's kill-count.
I wouldn't consider joining myself, but I commend the organization for helping to challenge the constant religious infringements in our country.

I would consider joining if it would help a cause. Like when they do religious handouts the only way to get them to stop at times is to use satanism as a reason. If you can hand out pamphlets to children on religion so can satanists....that hits harder than anything pure atheist can put up. They did some good work on statues to build next to 10 commandment monuments as well

@@iamzombie76 As someone who was raised deep within the evangelical sect, I found a deep sense of belonging upon transitioning into being a card carrying member of The Temple that I'd lost in my teen years. It's a wonderful thing to feel that I'm a part of a group that ACTUALLY CARES about not only my wellbeing but the wellbeing of so many others. Also I always wore alot of black. Now I find myself splitting it with alot more red, lol. I hope you take the leap and find out you love it as much as I do.

Hahahaha. I adore the theories of TST and recently joined. Shortly after I went on a magic mushroom trip and ended up seeing the Christian Satan and then it turned into the TST Satan and I quickly went from panicked about my soul to a realization that my soul and my body are mine alone. I haven't really believed in the church's bedtime stories in so long that when I looked back at the same symbology that held me in such a rigid structure of masculinity and false morals.
I feel like the satanic symbology is NEEDED because the moment when I found peace in "Satan", is the truest moment of freedom I've experienced. Almost as truly free as the moment before I was sure I was dead. I had ridden a motorcycle off a cliff at night, fell 40ft into a tree and broke my leg in 4 places. As I was falling, I knew for a fact(obviously incorrectly) that my life was over and I was going to die. In that moment I found peace. There was no panic. There was hope, but not stress. And I didn't tense. I went without fear and that may have saved my life. My parents always attributed my living to God, but I always said it was the god of Chaos and disorder.
I'm not a Satanist but so far Lucien intrigues me. I am magnetized by his looks, his calm demeanor and his intellect. My former lover and still friends to this day, looks exactly like him; but as a Hispanic version of Lucien. They both look alike, sound alike, both intellectuals and I'm not joking they are doppelgangers!!! I grew up as a Christian but a confused one and still seeking answers. I grew up fearing anything to do with Satanism, as other Christians have made Satan as an evil paranormal entity. I respect Lucien though, he's so thorough in everything he explains and I'm floored with his incredible responses to everything!!! :-)
I grew up in the 90s Satanic Panic. They tried to make me burn my Magic: the Gathering cards, my rock cassette tapes and all that good stuff. It was ridiculous. My mother stuck me in a private Christian school and it was terror, every day. I knew it was bullshit from the age of 8 or 9, but being stuck the cult and forced at a young age, knowing it was nonsense, made it worse
magick is different than the magic that the entertainment industry makes it out to be. music is magick/make up is magick, we live in the tangible manifestations of the Spiritual world. we are limited by the technology we can produce &create. flamethrowers, shooting fire out of yer hands. like i said before make up/plastic surgery/body modification, shape shifters. it's all real just not what you think, that's how you disguise the truth. with a little white lie.

Growing up one thing I remember is being told that if I looked at supernatural movies I’d be inviting demons in. So when movie previews came on TV I would avert my eyes and literally panic to find the remote to turn the channel. I mean like I’ve fallen trying to dive for the remote. And if the trailer started playing I’d be like “no, god!” At night I’d lay in bed terrified I’d accidentally invited demons in. 🤦♀️
When "Michelle Remembers" first came out, people had been reading, and buying into "Chariots of the Gods" for almost 20 years, and "The Amityville Horror" for almost 15 years, among countless others in this popular "spiritual WU ancient science fiction" genre. They were well primed to swallow all of the "Satanic Panic" reporting as fast as they could get it.

I remember that in the 1990s Anton Lavey contacted me to ask for a copy of my book: "Foreordained to Kill: A criminal History of the Bible", he then contacted me to tell me that he never belived in satanism, and that he has made his movement to make superstitious people to be scared. Somewhat near those days he died and I learned that it was him that really contacted me.

Depends on what you consider Satan. I'm an atheist and don't believe in god. Therefore, logically, I don't believe in Satan either. That being said, I think that people should be able to worship whomever \whatever they please. As long as it's not hurting anyone knock yourself out.

When I became a Satanist officially in February I had no idea my whole immediate family was going to fall down the Qanon trash hole. Not that I regret my decision but they're getting scary.

Preach. I didn't lose my faith until my mid 20s, but I decided that the doctrine of eternal hell was complete bullshit in my early teens. Everything about it is so wrong that I don't even know where to start. It's creepy watching people like my family, who I still view as decent and caring people despite their faith, actually try to defend the idea of eternal hell as some sort of divine justice. I don't think a lot of people have actually sat down, as I have, and honestly thought about the agony of the damned. When I was 8 years old, I was convinced that I had blasphemed the holy spirit and could never be forgiven. My despair and terror can't be put into words. Eight fucking years old and all I can think about is how I'm gonna die and burn in a fiery pit surrounded by demons with no escape and no end date.
That's why I describe myself as an anti-theist now. Religion is not neutral, a thing that works for some people and not for others. We can't live and let live in this instance, because the entire idea of religion is inherently evil. It's child abuse, plain and simple.
I was a Jehovah's Witness for 16 years. I am now absolutely an atheist. I don't believe in any god, satan, spiritual or super natural being, but I do know a cult when I see one....

I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and even as a child I struggled with a simple question.... "What did Satan Actually Lie About?". Satan was never a convincing villain, Satan's Motivation in the Bible is Independence from God / Yahweh / Jehovah. Even as a Christian it didn't make sense that Satan was the Ultimate Primeval when God killed far more people and was far more vicious. Satan in the Bible effectively just asked questions.

As one of, if not the, public face of The Satanic Temple, I think it'd be a decent investment to get at least some stable mid-range equipment for the occasional interview.

People using victims to blame who they want, not who the victim says did it. I've seen a lot of victim's advocates get online and say over and over again to q-anon conspiracy theorists: "This is not how it happens, you guys are not listening to victim's or thier stories. In believing these things you are not protecting yourself, or preventing real predators from getting what they want.'
It also reminds me of the times in America when minorities would be blamed for rape/etc, and without a trial or anything like that a white mob would just go burn thier community down and maybe kill them. No justice, no facts presented, just angry racists using fantasy or hearsay to justify thier own violence.
People have very strong and active imaginations, which is not a bad thing. However, many who are bored or feel insignificant find it more exciting and involving to believe in conspiracy theories rather than face the plain fact that reality is not that fantastical.
