Video gives a visual of the underway sea going life style of the US Coast Guard on board Cutter Diligence. Shows training, daily operations, lifestyle, leisure...enjoy.
Do you remember JJ Jordan (the RMIC) Lane Leach? Dan Nolan? I reported onboard from RM"A" school in Oct 81 as an RM3. Started out on a 210 and retired off a 210 (Resolute - St Petersburg)
Thank you very much for posting this video. It was done very well. I was on the "Dili" from '75 to '77 and it is nice to see she is still going strong.
+garybridgham Gary I was on the Dili from '74 to '78 as an EM3. What rate were you? I played guitar with a fellow MM3 named Steve Dobbs while on board. Great to see someone from my youth still ticking along!
+John Herndon --I bet'cha the engine room is nothing like when you left it. I was the GM striker, then GM3, when Gene Mills was there. I remember you but I used to stay out of sight a lot, very low profile, so you might not remember me. Toby Wilcox live up here in Washington County, Maine too. He doesn't remember me. I have visited Tony Jones in Ohio, he was a cook. I would like to be able to do a patrol again, it was an adventurous life.
+SKY-911☆CS:GO☆ I think I couldn't handle too many people at once. I may be little bit autistic; my daughter thinks so (she has a child that's a little autistic too) Anyway, I was no social butterfly.
Never served on a WMEC, but I got a lot of respect for those that have. Semper Paratus and Bravo Zulu!!
My dad was the captain of the diligence when it was stationed in Key West from 75 to 78. It was a great time to be in key west.
I was on the Reliance when the "Dilly" and Reliance tied up in Port Canaveral. 1985-1986.
Spent 2 years 71 & 72 On Vigilant 617 Beautiful ships but a winter patrol in the North Atlantic was a 2 week roller coaster ride.
On the Courageous WMEC-622 as a radioman back in the mid 70s. Best wishes to all my CG shipmates.
Great video. Can't believe its been that long. RM3 and original plank owner when she was commissioned. Great ship and great crew and great times!!!
She was my first outa boot camp!! The Mighty Dili!
Dili from '80 to '81 A Cuban Boat-Lift, A CG Yard, a Guitmo REFTRA, and Home Ported in Key West for Fantasy Fest, good time great crew!

Why did you go low profile? or stay out of sight?

oh ok ;) just wondering
Looks as good as it did when I left her in Key West (RM3 - 81- 83) -- Never thought I'd stay in for another 16 years.
Served after commissioning and during Gemini 3, Camarioca Cuban boatlift as EM2.
that cutter is cool.
OPS 87-89
Bad Ass....
I may be biased but I think the Hamilton class [378'] look more impressive.
