- A 100ct Nobby Opal, will it bring me obstacles or opportunities?
A piece of rough this big can make for an exciting cut.
However, you never know what is lurking below the surface.
Will we find inclusions, will the gem face?
All things we will discover once on the wheel.

I no longer have favourites. Opals are like horses. A good horse is never a " bad" colour!! LOL. Hi all at BOD and viewers. Greetings from Victoria, Australia.
Same, every one I watch Justin cut I think is my favourite. Same with the patterns
Hahah true Nancy. I hope you are well
@blackopaldirect yeah. Still getting over broken bits. Tell Saxon that he's young, but DO NOT do it again. I have busted a lot. It loses it's novelty, when you do stupid at 60. It takes way longer to get your bones together enough for another try. I just thought that I would fix pipe to tank. I fell off. Too scared to do anything. I could feel my feet. I didn't get help. I didn't have my phone with me. Yes. I'm bulletproof. Until, I was not. Now just getting opal stuff together. You lot have always been wonderful to me. Nice to have friends.
The ones with the Chinese characters are the true top shelf stones, i know taboo but there is not better description imo
Excellent!
Nearly bedtime here. Just gonna pause, get my cocoa and sit back.
And drift off to sleep, dreaming a beautiful opal that sounds wonderful.
@@kathybrandt6060 I only drift off if it’s over about 20 minutes. Then I rewatch it over my morning coffee. Or I just watch twice anyway. 😀
WOW, holy cow.....Beautiful finish on that Opal........
So Justin, my favorite color is Blue. Many artist associate Blue as their favorite color...
Thank you JD
He never fails, like old man river, Justin keeps rolling on. Thank you Maestro for another beautiful journey. That purple was royal.
Thanks again Glen
@@blackopaldirect u r welcome Sir!😁😎👍
They are great journeys are they not, almost meditative and educational at the same time with abundant passion. I'm sitting in the sun, sunbathing between 8 & 9 am, Traditional Chinese Medicines brew in hand absorbing the suns glorious rays concurrently absorbing this beautiful journey.
Peace to all you cool cats
Crystal Blue Green Pink Purple Orange with the merest flashes of Red and Gold
I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite color of opal. It's like magic flickering inside the stone.
That is the most gorgeous opal to my eye. I love purple and the subtle lower key colour is really attractive to me.
My 1st black opal was seen when I was 16 visiting my aunt in Cleveland OH. She took me to a museum and it was pure red and black! it was huge and rough! from then on red fire in black! I do have a small one! thank you Justin for what you do! I have 3 from you!
I love it and thank you
I'm with you, Justin. I love the blues and greens. They seem to have so much depth to them. I know that everyone loves the red and orange, but the blues and greens look like a deep, mysterious ocean. My favorite pattern might be a little boring too. I really like chaff and pinfire.
Those black opals that are blue+purple and not knock-your-eye-out bright make good man's rings, IMO. But that one is so large it would take a giant to wear it. Or a lovely woman's pendant - maybe a gypsy cabochon setting in yellow gold? Excellent job, Justin!
I think it would make a stunning bolo tie!
With the right setting an balancing of the gemstone gallery it would be a fantastic ring even at the size of the cut thatJustin did. Fabulous index ring 💍
Like a man once said "you have to take your time on your artwork". very awesome piece.
All the colours of the rainbow 🌈 in an opal are my favourite.
Thank you
I can't help but love a good multi-color opal, especially with some pigeon blood red, but I love all opals. They're all so unique, every time I look at one I say, "wow, that's beautiful". I could get lost for days just looking into one opal.
It’s always a treat to find a new video from Justin
I am personally a fan of blue/purple ones like this one was, although I'd like it a bit brighter. Still, a fantastic gem to watch get cut
I really like the stones that are mostly black with flashes of color, very nice.
The polish brought it out!
My favorite colors are the light colored ones. The royal blue and purple is pretty phenomenal though. It would be gorgeous combined with amethysts or saphires.❤😮😊
I love the purple of this opal! My hair is purple, dyed 8 years ago when i was being diagnosed with a 4th cancer.. .! I'm still fighting and yes, My hair is still purple! 😇❤️
Orange and pink are usually my favorite opal colors.
The purple colour in there is beautiful. I like seeing different variety in the stones, it takes all sorts!
I totally agree!
Orange and blue for me is the magical combination.
Thanks again, Justin. I always enjoy watching and learning. Not a record setting stone but it has it's own beauty. Looking forward to your next one. Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
Brilliant shape and polish as always Justin!
We share a similarity, blue and green is also my favourite colour combination, but I am also a sucker for true gold!
Nice
This is one of the prettiest opals I've watched you cut and I've watched every CZcams cutting video you have... No one would complain with more vidos😂
My daughter would love that opal. Purple is her favorite color!
As a fellow opal cutter, that polish job was top notch! Sweet as!
All opals are beautiful. I really loved the way the color hid and flashed on that stone. Another beauty Justin 😊 I really love the crystal opals. I like the way the light passes through them.
That is the most beautiful stone ive ever seen. 😊👍
I absolutely _LOVE_ this opal! Blue is my favourite colour as well as shades venturing over into the purple 🥰🥰🥰
Gosh, how I would love to have that opal! My time may be soon and how I would love to look into that opal until my end has come!💜
I think it turned out terrific! I was surprised actually. Very nice
I'm a big fan of purple, I wish there was more to be found. Purple and red would be good with some blue. This one turned out lovely, cheers.
Oh that’s a cool colour opal! My fav is a black opal with a mix of colours. My nan had a white/milky opal ring and it was hideous but after seeing some newer styles of opal rings, I’ve fallen back in love with them.
Opals are nature's treasures, and that dark opal is beautiful in its own way! My absolute favorites are the crystal opals with colors of the rainbow 🌈 in them! Greetings to you all at BOD! 👋♥️💎👍
Hi Justin. Greetings from South Africa. My favorite colours are red, orange and yellow. The blue and green are also spectacular. Great video. Kind regards to all
It's honestly one of my favorite gems you've cut. The dark black and brilliant purple make it really unique

More purple than I expected. Nice.

The volcanic opal that you cut awhile ago was to myself an absolutely beautiful stone.
Have a ripper Justin!
Incredible! Personally I love the dark with the purple and blue, just stunning to me.
Love that Opal. Not loud nor audacious. Magnificent mauves and purples, but only for those who wish to look !
My favorite is when an opal has all the colors of the rainbow in it.
You make it look so easy!I can't wait to get some rough that doesn't kill me with folds of sand in the most unexpected spots, Live and learn and buying rough is something I need to learn pronto before I lose mind! Thanks for all your tips on a great hobby that can pay for itself in the long run.
Greetings from Czech Republic (central Europe) 🙂 my favourite colour generally is blue, and in your opals I really love this deep blue and purple. But it is closely followed by all the blue green gems you show us.
Thank you for your videos, they are always nice and gentle and I like to watch them. Especially now, as I fight cancer (I am 42 and this is second time I have a breast cancer, after 15 years), it always brings smile to my face and warms my heart to see the beauty born from the rough stone. And smiles are the best cure, thank you for that, Justin ♥️
I know absolutely nothing about gemstones but here I am. Props on your presentation skills making me invested in a new topic!
I really enjoy watching a true Artisan plying their craft. You are Awesome. Thank you for sharing. Peace Out.
Yeah you’ve cut cut some awesome stones but I really liked this one! Great video as always Justin!
Absolutely entranced by that blue...
I love opals that has all the colors of the rainbow.
This is truly an example of one man's trash is another man's treasure. You were commenting on how not every stone is a top-level gem. Personally, this is one of the prettiest stones I think I've seen you cut, in the 20th or 30 videos I've watched. That color of deep blue purple is my absolute favorite. And the way it plays through the potch, I find absolutely stunning.
Blue is one of my favorites, along with the green.
Amazing how you shaped that opal with your hands on that wheel. What a beauty!
I love what you do and how you present. I don't comment often but I watch a lot.
Thank you, Justin.
Wow, that is beautiful! I didn't expect it to be devalued because of the colors.
This opal is my favourite! I have never seen another so beautiful! Great work. I love watching you unveil such beauty.

i absolutely love the purple and black look, especially for that price. amazing!
I love the andamooka crystals with the intense blue-greens ranging from lime greens to ocean blues.
My favorite that you did was that "geometric" one. It was simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cobalt blue and purple. I love the spark in black opals. ❤ That opal to me is EVERYTHING!!!
You have single handedly got me into opals. Ive always loved gems of all kinds but opals are now my favorite. I've learned so much from your videos and ive purchased my first lap grinder and hopefully soon my first cabbing machine. Keep uo the good work. Your work is awesome
Hi Justin. It's a beauty. Thanks for showing your hard work.
There is something magical and mysterious about the way the colour appears and disappears on this. Some opals, you can only imagine appearing on black-tie occasions. This one would be beautiful with wool or denim.
True
I always enjoy watching you work Justin as you work your way around the Opals❣️
Thank you so much 😀
Once polished the stone completely transformed into something beautiful.
I love opals with a bit of every color, especially crystal opals. Awesome opal, Justin.
