DHMIS had a bit of analog horror itself in the "HELP" Kickstarter vids.
Honestly if I had the time I’d make a horror adaptation of this series, where everything just immediately goes to shit. Like, Duck comes back but as a corpse and just has to live like that, Warren stays in Yellow Guy’s head and corrupts him, Red Guy gets indoctrinated by the family, etc
Wether you ship them platonically or romantically, you can agree that this was a soft moment for both of them.😊

The art style is absolutely perfect! It’s what I’d imagine they’d look like in animation if the show was animated!
Seeing the main characters be kind of mean to eachother throughout the show makes me think this is duck and red guy finally accepting one another as friends

The animation is so good!🤩 I especially love the dead eye detail on duck, the headcanon that he might be half dead and half alive because of the death episode is an amazing touch! Keep up all the good work!👏👏😊💙

Always thought that Red guy meant that as a way of saying “I like seeing you smile” or something along those lines. Never really say anything romantic in this, but if there is something romantic going on… good for them.

As much as I do love the lovey dovey interpretations of this moment, the more “neutral” expressions are just as valid! (But ngl I’m kind of annoyed at how people are kinda down playing the less platonic animatics in this comment section. I know not everyone ships Duck and Red, but you really don’t need to make it seem less valid (especially when the creators encourage both romantic and platonic interpretations of them.))
Wtf, it’s an old puppet duck and a guy in a red costume… there is absolutely 0 reason for them to be “shipped” together, it’s meant to be a comedy horror not a gay puppet romance, I mean it’s meant to be mirroring kids tv, with gore and psychological horror elements, so a genuine romance plot between the main characters doesn’t fit the theme at all since what does that have to do with literally anything in the show, it’s also just plain weird and not in a funny, thought provoking or interesting way, why would you ever want that, like genuinely why
Of course the creators would say that cos it’s meant to be fucked up and not taken seriously in that way since it’s a dark comedy and they want people to watch it, but it would just be completely unnecessary, uncomfortable and would add nothing of any value or importance to the show, since that’s not what it’s about at all, the creators of Rick & Morty say the same thing and they literally have an incest fetish
The creators acknowledging it doesn’t make your strange desire for fictional puppets to be romantic with each other “valid” or mean that other fans should respect that shit since that’s not the point of the show, also they’re meant to have a family-like dynamic, or at least close friends / housemates that don’t even really like each other, so there’s just absolutely no need to make it romantic in a serious way, getting upset at people not wanting tv puppets from different generations and essentially the same family to get with each other is just weird, why’d you have to ruin a weirdly wholesome moment

@@crafternautsunite6846 Like I said when creators of shows like R&M gave it the okay and even encouraged viewers to ship main characters the entire fandom just became full of inescapable pornographic fan art and inappropriate ships, now the show has gone from occasional references to entire plots around incest even with underage characters and it ruined it, if people already genuinely want a small elderly puppet duck and a human man in a red outfit to be romantic with each other for no reason of course some of them are going to make it sexual, especially in a fandom of an adult themed show, they didn’t just say romantic anyway they said “less platonic” which is open for interpretation, leaving things open for interpretation in this context is dangerous on the internet considering it’s clearly full of weirdos, there’s no denying that, if you don’t know that then you’re too young to be watching this show, guaranteed if they make this a ship it won’t take long to find people making it sexual and regardless if they make it a canon romance a lot of viewers will be uncomfortable and not in a clever or funny way, especially since it doesn’t add anything to the show and doesn’t fit the theme, R&M is just one example of this, when creators entertain these things the fandom take it too far and make it sick

You think given how long this show took to come out and how much creativity and talent is behind it that they should be wasting time adding shit like that to the plot when there’s so many unanswered questions and so much untapped potential? You ignored my other points about how it would be inappropriate since they’re meant to be like family to each other, one’s literally a human and the others a small animal puppet, the duck is literally meant to be like an old man and Red guy has a human body… why would someone ever want them to be romantic together, you overlooked all that because I implied people would make it sexual which they absolutely would if they’re already talking about making “less platonic” fan art, you’re telling me that’s not weird and unnecessary at all? Tbh, I like that this isn’t showing the scene on a romantic way like pretty much all the other animatics, cuz personally I just can’t see this as a romantic moment, since I always saw Duck as more of an old guy while Red is the young adult of the three

YEEEEEEESSS I love how you did the expressions here, really brings out the sinister sort of wholesomeness this scene had. I always felt like this scene was two people who arent used to getting along being not quite sure what to say now that they sorta are.
I love how disheveled they both look, it feels a lot more real and organic, (plus i love that you animated red sighing, i haven’t seen that up until now :3) amazing art btw :D!

I'm pretty sure your animatics are the closest thing possible to a dhmis animated series. Like they're just the perfect style for the series. Just simply amazing
In my personal take of that scene, I do find it wholesome since it's a scene where it's shown that even tho they fight, they still consider themselves as a family.
The "I like looking at you" can mean many things so I like how the expressions are neutral so that the viewer can interpret that scene in many ways. (whether that be romantic, platonic, weird, or what evs)
My personal take on why I like the neutral expression is because I saw this as an example of siblings that frequently fight a lot and seem to not stand one another but they still appreciate each other's company, and they like seeing their siblings with them. It reminds me of the lesson they learned in the episode about family as if they feel like they found a family that they can call their own.
This is the best animatic about that scene I have ever seen ^^

I don't ship Red Guy and Duck but I do think that scene hints at some sorta close relationship with them both. Possibly brothers or Duck was a pet. There is a theory that the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared show takes place around a grieving woman's made up story and these characters do exist but either ad a imagination or forced to live out whatever she makes. If where going by that theory it can truly show they where close or known each other within there past or existing lifetime. Cool to think of, tragic when you really think of it.
So does that mean yellow guy's pet has a close bond with yellow guy's neightbor?
That would be an interesting backstory of the characters and their relationship if ya think about it.
